Verizon has announced that new and existing Verizon wireless unlimited customers as well as new Fios and 5G home internet customers will be offered one free year of Disney+. This is a huge coup for Disney in the competitive streaming landscape as it will net them millions of early subscribers to try their service with the option to renew (for a fee) at the end of the free year.
Offers like this are common for companies trying to gain a strong initial user base, which is imperative to long term success in highly competitive industries. Apple TV+ offers a similar deal for those buying a new select Apple device, offering one free year of Apple TV+.
Disney+ launches November 12th for $6.99 a month with Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu bundles costing $12.99 a month.
