New Dining Reservation Features for Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 2024

If guests are planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort, then they’ll want to see today’s three easy, time-saving Disney dining tips – including one BRAND-NEW way to simplify your dining plans.

This year, there are exciting Disney improvements and perks for things like making and viewing dining reservations, mobile ordering and more. Here’s what’s new:

Discover Dining Reservation Availability More Easily

Guests can now see all available reservation time slots at a restaurant for the entire day on DisneyWorld.com, Disneyland.com, and the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps. Reservations are sorted by breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, so guests can easily choose a time based on the menu they’d like to enjoy.

COMING SOON! Search for Dining Availability for Multiple Days

Soon, guests will also be able to see dining availability for MULTIPLE days at a time! With a single search, guests can view available dining reservations for any given restaurant for up to 10 days at a time. It will make scheduling dining reservations for an entire vacation much easier!

Pro tips:

  • At Walt Disney World, guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel can make reservations 60 days prior to arrival for their entire length of stay (for up to a 10-night stay). This can help guests enjoy streamlined vacation planning by making all their reservations on the same day rather than checking availability day after day.
  • Guests of the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort have preferred access to a limited number of reservations to dine at select Disneyland Resort hotel table-service restaurants during their stay. Guests should make sure to link their Disneyland Resort hotel confirmation to their Disneyland.com account to be eligible for the benefit!

If plans change at the last minute, don’t fret. With an update we made last year, guests can change or cancel up to two hours before a scheduled reservation at most Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort locations. Keep in mind, some locations may vary, so check guests should check the restaurant’s dining policy ahead of their visit.

Find Quick and Nearby Foods with Mobile Order

If a guest prefers quick-service locations, recent mobile order updates make it even easier to find and order food whenever hunger strikes.

Guests can sort the list to see which mobile order locations are close by and offer the earliest available pickup times in the app. If they’re walking around Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they can easily order from nearby locations like Rosie’s All-American Café!

There’s much to be excited about at Disney Parks right now – especially when it comes to food! As we continue to focus on simplifying your experience, we have made additional updates to the My Disney Experience and Disneyland app navigation menus that make the services and features guests need during their visit – like ordering food and making a dining reservation – easier to find and access. If guests are feeling hungry, they can head to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps, so they can plan their dream dining experience.* Already have the app? Make sure it’s up-to-date for the latest features.

*Apple, the Apple logo, are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Google Play is a trademark of Google Inc. Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations, and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere. Separate terms and conditions apply. If you’re under 18, get your parents’ permission first. Some features require separate theme park admission.

Guest Tosses Child Over Gate, Runs Away From Cast Members

Walt Disney World is a magical place where dreams come true and possibilities are endless. Millions of people visit Disney World every year, leaving them with memories they will cherish forever. Unfortunately, it seems that now, more than ever, a lot of them are also leaving with memories they would rather forget. Guest behavior seems to be at an all-time low, and it’s disappointing to see.

One guest, Katy, recently enjoyed a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth with her father and her young daughter. For her daughter’s very first ride, they decided to head into Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom and ride “it’s a small world.” The slow-moving boat ride takes guests on a trip around the world, as animatronic dolls sing about how we are all connected.

As they approached the end of the ride, Katy (@mgkaty._) said she saw the cast members in the bridge area pointing in her direction. However, they were not pointing at her. They allegedly pointed at a man who had climbed out of one of the ride vehicles, even though he was supposed to remain seated.

According to Katy, a cast member came running down, telling the man to stay seated because the ride had not come to a full stop. The man did not listen, and things only got worse from there.

The man reportedly jumped out of the ride WITH A YOUNG CHILD, causing the entire ride to be shut down. The cast member said the gates would not open because of what the man did. But the man wasn’t letting that stop him.

Katy said that the man shoved the cast member out of the way, tossed his child over the gate, and jumped over the gate himself! He then took his child and ran away as the cast members tried to stop him.

Sadly, we do not know what happened to this outrageous guest. We can only hope that he was stopped by Disney cast members and security and escorted out of the park. Disobeying the rules and assaulting cast members is absolutely unacceptable.

Sadly, this is not the first time we have seen bad behavior on “it’s a small world.” In fact, it seems to be one of the most popular rides for guests to exhibit atrocious behavior.

it's a small world holiday Disneyland

Just last November, a man riding “it’s a small world” at Disneyland Resort stunned guests when he climbed out of his boat and stripped naked. He then swam through some of the water and climbed onto the animatronics. Police were called, and the man tried to evade them, but he was eventually captured. He was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Another guest reported that they saw a guest strip down their young child. They then held the child over the water and let their child pee in the water. They then used a tissue to wipe the child and threw the dirty tissue in the water.

New ‘Wish’ Attraction at EPCOT Is Turning Heads

When it comes to attractions, if you asked anyone visiting Walt Disney World which park is lacking, they’d probably say EPCOT. Although the universally beloved park is home to Spaceship Earth, fabulous food, and unique festivals, it’s lacking in the attractions department, at least regarding rides. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to see and do at EPCOT, and with new Disney films like Wish (2023) to influence the sights and sounds of the famous park, the 2024 International Flower and Garden Festival has seen a few new arrivals that are turning heads.

The festivals at EPCOT are some of the best offerings at Walt Disney World. The current offering is EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival. This annual event at Walt Disney World Resort celebrates the wonders of flora with breathtaking floral displays, enchanting gardens, and vibrant topiaries. Guests can explore the World Showcase, adorned with stunning blooms, and participate in horticultural workshops to learn gardening tips and tricks. The festival also features live music, delicious food offerings, and interactive experiences for visitors of all ages. Don’t miss this magical springtime celebration at EPCOT’s International Flower and Garden Festival.

Although you’ll find tons of fabulous food and drink around the World Showcase during the Flower and Garden festival, another huge draw is the amazing topiaries that pop up all over the park during the Spring celebration. Each one brings to life iconic characters and scenes from popular Disney offerings, typical of what you’d expect at Walt Disney World.

This year’s festival edition is no different but brings a few new astonishing topiaries to EPCOT, including one that is beautifully bright, especially at night!

Ashley Carter posted recently to X, formerly Twitter, a fantastic shot of this new attraction at EPCOT, a Wish-inspired topiary that can be seen with Spaceship Earth lit up in the background.

If you haven’t seen it, Wish is a heartwarming, Walt Disney Animation Studios animated film that takes viewers on a magical adventure.

Although the film didn’t perform well in theatres during its release last year, the story, which features the voice talents of Ariana DeBose (Asha) and Chris Pine (King Magnifico), combines classic Walt Disney Animation Studios features in an attempt to bring the golden age of Disney animation back to life.

With fascinating characters like King Magnifico and Queen Amaya, Wish is a better movie than received initially, and its new topiary at the 2024 Flower and Garden Festival is a must-see, perfect for those Instagram photos, especially at night.

Although this particular topiary is turning heads, you’ll find many others as you venture around EPCOT and the World Showcase. Miquel from Coco, Elsa Anna, and other newcomers like Groot await guests at the 2024 International Flower and Garden Festival, one of the most highly anticipated events you’ll find in any of the four Disney Parks at Walt Disney World Resort.

Changes Coming to Star Tours – New Details Revealed

Last year, Disney announced that Star Tours – The Adventures Continue would receive an update with new adventures added to the attraction. We now know when the attraction will be updated.

Over the years, we’ve been working hard to keep our Star Wars experiences in Disney Parks evolving alongside that expanding galaxy far, far away. That is also part of what makes Star Tours – The Adventures Continue so special. So now, I am excited to share that, starting April 5, 2024, at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be taking you on some all-new adventures. These new additions will feature characters and locations from some of your favorite Disney+ new series – “Ahsoka,” “Andor,” and “The Mandalorian.”

With these additions, you’ll now have an opportunity to experience one of more than 250 storyline variations aboard the attraction, including a visit to the planet Peridea from the Ahsoka series.

Urgent transmissions from Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin and Grogu may soon be part of your next Starspeeder flight. These iconic characters will continue to add to the galaxy of stories aboard Disney’s first Star Wars attraction.

Also starting April 5, Season of the Force will arrive at Disneyland park for a limited time through June 2, 2024, with Hyperspace Mountain, themed food and beverage, merchandise and more. Debuting during the celebration, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will provide a fresh perspective on the fireworks above Disneyland park on select nights, with galactic music sweeping through the spires.
