Brand-New ‘Bluey’ Episodes Now Available!
Ten brand-new episodes of Bluey have made their way to Disney+ today–for real life–and fans won’t want to miss a single one.
When Bluey debuted in Australia in 2018, from the mind of Australian animator and Bluey creator Joe Brumm, ABC Children (the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, of course), BBC Studios Kids, and executive producer Daley Pearson, no one–not even the creators and producers of the hit children’s program–could have guessed the show would enjoy the popularity it has enjoyed so far. Bluey was the #1 most-watched children’s series in the United States in 2023, and for good reason!
Part of the success of Bluey, which is considered a children’s educational series, is its different approach to education as compared with other children’s programs. There are very few letters in episodes of the show, and no reading is required. Bluey also features no numbers and no counting. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t educational.
Instead of using run-of-the-mill elements to teach kids various pre-Kindergarten concepts, each Bluey episode about the Heeler family–Bluey, a delightful blue heeler, her little sister Bingo, and her mum and dad, Chilli and Bandit–feature examples of imaginative play and also exhibit the daily happenings between members of Bluey’s family.
Both of these elements serve to encourage social skills and imaginative play, and as children (and adults) watch the show, they are introduced to what it means to be a member of a family, among other things.
Though experts think they’ve finally discovered what makes Bluey so popular, and some have even opined about the surprise benefit enjoyed by those who watch the show, every fan of the children’s program has different reasons behind their affinity for the show.
On Thursday, ABC’s Good Morning America shared a short preview video of the new episodes of Bluey that dropped today. The video gave fans a tiny taste of what’s in store for Bluey and her family in ten brand-new episodes that have already been seen in Bluey’s native Australia, but are debuting for the first time in the United States today.
Fans who want to see the second set of episodes from the third season of Bluey can watch them today on the Disney+ streaming platform. Per DisneyPlus.com, the following episodes debut today on Disney+ and will debut on Disney Channel and Disney Junior later in the year:
“Cubby” – Bluey and Bingo build a very special cubby for their stuffed toy, Kimjim.
“Exercise” – Bingo pretends to be Boss Bluey’s new employee in the middle of Dad’s backyard workout.
“Relax” – Bluey and Bingo would rather explore their holiday hotel room than relax on the beach.
“Stickbird” – On a trip to the beach, Mum teaches Bluey how to throw, while Bingo and Dad get creative with a funny shaped stick.
“Show and Tell” – Bluey wants to know why Dad’s always bossing her around!
“Dragon” – Bluey asks Dad to help her draw a dragon for her story.
“Wild Girls” – Coco wants to play Wild Girls with Indy, but Chloe wants her to play another game.
“TV Shop” – At the pharmacy, Bluey and Bingo have fun playing with the CCTV screens.
“Slide” – Bingo and Lila are excited to play on their new waterslide.
“Cricket” – During a friendly game of neighborhood cricket, the dads struggle to bowl Rusty out.
Fans can stream ten new episodes of Season 3 of Bluey now on Disney+.
New Details Revealed for Disney’s Live-Action Cruella Sequel
Emma Stone is a renowned American actress who has made a significant impact on the entertainment industry. Born as Emily Jean Stone on November 6, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona, she rose to prominence for her exceptional talent and captivating on-screen presence. Emma Stone has showcased her versatility by portraying a wide range of characters in various film genres.
From comedies like Easy A (2010) and House Bunny (2008) to critically acclaimed dramas like La La Land (2016) and Birdman (2014), Stone has proven herself to be an exceptional actress capable of bringing depth and authenticity to her roles.
Her remarkable performances have earned her numerous accolades, including an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in La La Land alongside Ryan Gosling. Emma Stone’s incredible talent, charisma, and dedication to her craft have cemented her status as one of the most respected and sought-after actresses in Hollywood.
When it comes to Disney, the Zombieland (2009) and Superbad (2007) actress made waves in 2021 when she brought one of the most iconic Disney villains to life in a live-action remake of Cruella.
In 2021, while box offices reeled from shutdowns the year before due to COVID-19, the close friend of popstar Taylor Swift gave Disney fans one of the most memorable live-action performances of all time.
Emma Stone’s performance in Cruella is well worth mentioning. Playing the iconic villainess Cruella de Vil from Disney’s 101 Dalmations (1961), Stone delivers a captivating and mesmerizing portrayal. Directed by Craig Gillespie, this live-action prequel showcases Stone’s versatility and range as an actress.
Disney’s live-action remakes have had a mixed track record, with many claiming that they fail to capture the magic of their animated counterparts. However, amidst these disappointments, there is one film not named The Lion King (2019) that stands out from the rest – Cruella.
Starring the talented Emma Stone, Cruella not only breaks the curse of Disney’s live-action remakes but shines as a captivating and unique interpretation of a beloved character.
Despite exhaustion over forward-thinking live-action remakes surrounded by controversy, Disney doesn’t seem to have any plans to slow down. The latest news surrounding live-action remakes mostly centers around Rachel Zegler, also loosely associated with Taylor Swift, who will be bringing the first Disney Princess, Snow White, to life down the road.
However, although fatigue has set in for those live-action films, fans of the first Cruella should be excited as Stone let slip that work on a sequel in underway. Recently, at an event for her latest film, Poor Things, Stone discussed working with fellow co-stars Mark Ruffalo and Willem Dafoe.
Emma Stone, who plays reanimated corpse Bella Baxter in Poor Things, briefly discussed the current state of what’s next for her career, highlighting comments regarding the production of Cruella 2. Emma The Los Angeles star explained to Variety Fair that the Cruella sequel is currently a “work in progress” and should begin shooting “sooner rather than later.”
Decoding when Disney movie-goers or Disney+ subscribers can look forward to seeing Emma Stone bring our favorite fashionista back to live-action is a tough task. As Disney has announced a slate of live-action remakes over the next few years, potentially including Bambi, Hercules, and Lilo & Stitch, a Cruella sequel feels far off.
Iger Issues PSA To “Prepare Parents” for Content Coming to Disney+ Platform
For the millions of families who subscribe to Disney+, the streaming platform is the perfect place to experience wholesome, family-friendly content. Many parents love the security that their children can scroll and view content without the worries of them stumbling upon something that is inappropriate or violent on accident.
However, that reputation is about to change. With the announcement of Disney’s purchase of the Hulu streaming platform, the doors have just been opened, and a flood of new, R-rated content is heading for Disney.
Disney+ and Hulu’s merger has paved the way for an exciting development in the streaming landscape. In an effort to expand its content offerings, The Walt Disney Company has purchased Hulu. Hulu is known for its incredible range of films and shows, including many that are originals of the platform. Many of these shows and movies are more mature, specifically Hulu hits like American Horror Story. This move will undoubtedly bring a new dimension to the streaming experience and cater to a broader audience, but there are also concerns that it will alienate the current audience of the Disney+ platform.
While many fans will be thrilled to experience all of the new content this merger will provide, others may not be thrilled to see Disney+ stray so far from its family-friendly landscape. As the visionary behind this strategic merger, Disney CEO Bob Iger aims to ensure that families are prepared for the upcoming changes. To this end, Iger has issued a public service announcement, urging parents to brace themselves for the arrival of this edgier content. He believes that the forthcoming beta launch of a unified Hulu-Disney+ app in the following month will allow families to gradually adjust to this new facet of the platform, specifically when it comes to implementing parent control settings.
Iger says, “We are basically putting it in beta so that we can prepare parents, largely, to basically implement parental controls, because you’ll be able to access Hulu programming on the same app.”
However, despite Iger’s efforts to provide a heads-up, concerns have been raised by some parents. They worry about the inadvertent exposure of such content to impressionable young children who may not be ready for it. The integration of this content directly into their existing Disney+ account might catch them off guard.
With the merger of Disney+ and Hulu, viewers can expect a diverse range of content that goes beyond the traditional family-friendly offerings. This expansion will grant subscribers access to an extensive library of R-rated movies and TV shows, providing a balanced blend of entertainment for viewers of all ages.
It is worth noting that the inclusion of this “spicy” content on the Disney+ platform is a logical progression for the company. By consolidating its resources and leveraging the extensive general entertainment content from Hulu, Disney aims to create a unified streaming experience, capturing a greater audience engagement and unlocking new opportunities for growth.
As the beta launch approaches, excitement builds among subscribers who eagerly anticipate the transformation of their streaming experience. The merger between Disney+ and Hulu represents a significant milestone in the streaming industry, solidifying Disney’s status as a dominant player in the market.
Disney+ Beats Expectations
We all, including Disney CEO Bob Iger, have cited difficulty in earning and retaining subscribers to The Walt Disney Company’s 2019 adventure known as Disney+.
To compete with streaming giants like Netflix, and on the heels of finally purchasing all remaining shares of Hulu in the final quarter of the year, Disney’s streaming service is seeing an uptick, solidifying itself as a go-to streaming source for consumers.
After what has seemed like a see-saw of performance, Bob Iger just let slip that streaming service has experienced a boom in growth of subscribers in their latest quarter.
Citing titles such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 (2023), Ahsoka, and The Little Mermaid (2023), the Disney-owned streaming service that’s home to acquired and original content has demolished expectations recently, adding 7 million new subscribers.
Disney’s streaming service, which has seen a downfall in subs as fans move away from Star Wars and Marvel content, seemed to face a questionable future, with some, including myself, questioning Disney’s ability to retain the platform as a current business model.
However, in true Disney fashion, as the clock strikes midnight and the year ends, Disney+ boasts one of its strongest-performing quarters yet. Iger, who spoke heavily regarding Disney’s approach to the streaming market during the third quarter earnings call, cited current subscriber numbers at a high of 150.2 million.
Interestingly, this performance has passed Wall Street expectations of adding 3 million new subscribers to the service.
Disney+ has added several new titles over the year; many underperformed at the box office. The Little Mermaid and Elemental (2023) helped The Walt Disney Company smash through their expected subscriber count of around 147 million.
It would seem that, possibly, viewers prefer catching the latest Disney films and shows from the comfort of their living rooms, as opposed to a pricey experience in theatres. Disney’s fourth quarter earnings suggest further expansion and investment for the streaming service, an arm of The Walt Disney Company that executives have been determined to make competitive with others like Netflix.
With a slate of holiday day shows and films, such as The Santa Clauses: Season 2 on the way, it wouldn’t be surprising to see these numbers shoot even higher as the year comes to an end.
