If you thought the MCU was big already, it’s about to get a lot bigger…
In addition to the new footage shown from Marvel Studios Disney+ shows like “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, “WandaVision”, “Loki” and “What If…?”, Kevin Feige also teased several brand-new shows and reminded us of a few previously-announced shows, too. Here’s the rundown:
“Hawkeye” launches on Disney+ in late 2021. The series stars Jeremy Renner, Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Alaqua Cox, and Feige finally confirmed Hailey Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Episodes will be directed by Rhys Thomas and Bert & Bertie.
“She Hulk” is being directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia. She-Hulk, a.k.a. Jennifer Walters, is being played by Tatiana Maslany. Big news on this one is the return of Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky a.k.a. the Abomination (from 2008’s “The Incredible Hulk”) as well as the jolly green giant himself, Mark Ruffalo. No release date has been announced.
“Moon Knight” was described by Feige as an “Action/Adventure, Indiana Jones type story, coming to life as a Disney+ series, directed by Mohamed Diab”. Speaking of the title character, Feige said, “Moon Knight is a complex vigilante who suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder and these multiple identities that live inside him are very distinct characters in the series”. No release date has been announced.
“Secret Invasion” stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. Feige’s brief description of the show: “It’s about a sect of Skrulls who have infiltrated every level of life on Earth”. No release date was announced.
“Ironheart” centers around the character of Riri Williams (played by Dominique Thorne). Feige described Williams as a “Genius inventor who has the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man”. No release date was announced. However, Feige did confirm that “Ironheart” and “Secret Invasion” would “tie directly into MCU feature films”.
Armor Wars stars Don Cheadle as Lt. Col James Rhodes. The plot of the show was described by Feige as “Tony Stark’s worst fear coming true. It’s what happens when his tech falls into the wrong hands”. The release date was… you guessed it, not announced.
Finally, Feige announced “I am Groot”, a series of shorts that explore Baby Groot’s adventures encountering “several new and unusual characters”.
