Hurricane Meal Kits Arrive on Menus at Walt Disney World

Headed to Walt Disney World in the next couple of days? Chances are you’ll be seeing lots of rain as Tropical Storm Elsa continues to keep Central Florida in her path. Thankfully, Elsa was downgraded from a Hurricane to a Tropical Storm – and our hopes are it stays that way! It looks like Disney is however preparing for the arrival of the storm (and likely storms in the near future) with special “Hurricane Meals Kits” on their menus.

As shared by InsideTheMagic: “Today, several quick service locations at Walt Disney World have added “Hurricane Meal Kits” to their menus for Guests. One of those restaurants is Everything POP at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.” The screenshot below shows Hurricane Meal Kits available for breakfast:

If you’re visiting Walt Disney World when tropical storm or hurricane weather hits, it’s actually a comfortable place to be from personal experience. If the weather gets bad enough, parks will close. We’ve even seen Disney moving guests staying at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Campgrounds to resort hotels so they can ride out the storm in a safe location. These meal kits are another way Disney has been known to make the situation as accommodating as possible. You simply get your food and get back to your room.

Rainy Disney World

Hopefully, Tropical Storm Elsa will continue to weaken as she moves through Central Florida. Without a doubt, guests can expect heavy rain and high winds.

Tropical Storm Elsa Shifts Closer To Central Florida

If you’re headed to Walt Disney World early this week, you’ll want to take note as Elsa continues to head towards Central Florida. We previously shared Tropical Storm Elsa turned into Hurricane Elsa… the first hurricane of the year. With Florida on Elsa’s projected path, we were happy to see she downgraded back to a Tropical Storm. You’ll still want to keep close watch however as Elsa figures out where she is headed and how strong she will be when she makes landfall. And yes, we know all those Disney fans out there appreciate the National Hurricane Center naming the storm Elsa!

As reported by OrlandoSentinel: “Tropical Storm Elsa continues its approach to Florida on Sunday with a projected path that predicts landfall near Tampa late Tuesday or early Wednesday and then slicing across the peninsula from west to east. The 11 a.m. update from the National Hurricane Center places the center of the storm, which was downgraded from a hurricane on Saturday. By late Tuesday or early Wednesday, the storm is predicted to shift northeast making landfall somewhere near Tampa still with 60 mph sustained winds and then progress on a path that could take its center over Ocala on the way to Jacksonville.”

Tropical Storm Elsa Could Reach Florida Next Week

Are you headed to Walt Disney World this weekend, into early next week? If so, you’ll want to take note that Tropical Storm Elsa has formed and looks like it could reach Florida by next week. While a rainy day at Disney is still better than a sunny day at the office, you’ll want to keep close watch as Elsa figures out where it is headed. And yes, we’re sure all those Disney fans out there noticed… the storm has been named Elsa!

As shared by OrlandoSentinel: “The National Hurricane Center officially named Tropical Storm Elsa Thursday morning, and showed the fifth named storm of the season could possibly take aim at Florida by next week. The Hurricane Center said it’s too early to tell if the Elsa will impact Florida, although the cone does show parts of the state within Elsa’s five-day path. However, there is significant uncertainty in the track forecast between the weekend and Tuesday, the NHC said. Discrepancies in the track have made meteorologists’ confidence in the projection “lower than usual,” the NHC said.”

The most recent update from the National Hurricane Center was shared via Twitter:

Orlando in Cone of Uncertainty for Tropical Storm Elsa

The aptly named Tropical Storm Elsa is approaching the islands southeast of Florida, and the cone of uncertainty currently includes Orlando, home to Walt Disney World.

As the term “cone of uncertainty” suggests, meteorologists cannot be sure of Elsa’s exact path and when it will make landfall in Florida, if it even does. According to the National Hurricane Center, the uncertainty is larger due to the storm’s potential interaction with the Greater Antilles this weekend. The cone itself only depicts the possible path of the storm’s center, not the size of the storm.

The Orlando area could be experiencing heavy winds from the storm on Monday morning, with the storm itself arriving on Tuesday. There are no currently watches or warnings in place and the storm has not developed into a hurricane.
