Disney Testing Mobile Order-Table Service to Go

Walt Disney World’s Mobile Ordering Service is a fantastic way to order meals from quick-service restaurants. It appears that Disney is now testing this service to include a new feature called “Mobile Oder-Table Service to Go,” allowing guests to easily order to-go meals from table service restaurants. Right now this is only available at Sanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village.

In the My Disney Experience App, at the bottom of the page is a “+” button. Once you push that button, you’ll be given four options: check dining availability, order food, shop memory maker, and buy tickets and passes. Click on the “order food” button, and you’ll be able to see the different restaurants that offer Mobile Ordering.

As you scroll down, you’ll see “Sanaa To Go – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village.” You’ll be able to choose an arrival window, just like at a quick-service restaurant.

After that, you’ll see a new informational pop-up that gives information on this new service including:

  • Arrival Window – let us know when to begin freshly preparing your order during the time slot you selected.
  • Prep & Wait Time – These meals are made to order, so expect the wait to be about the same as if you were to sit down at a restaurant.
  • Order Pick Up – Please hold off on going to the restaurant until we notify you that your order is ready.

Next, you’ll be able to “Build Your Order.” You’ll be able to view the menu and build your order, just as you would for a sit-down meal.

Next, you’ll select payment methods and pay for your order.

New Dining “Now” Walk-Up List for Table-Service Restaurants Added to My Disney Experience App

A new dining “Now” option is available on the My Disney Experience app with a “Walk-up List” service at select table service restaurants.

So, let’s say you’re walking through EPCOT and decide you’re getting hungry but prefer instead of Mobile Ordering, you’d like to sit down at a table-service restaurant. No reservations? No worries! Visit the My Disney Experience App and you’ll be able to see what table-service restaurants have availability around you right now. You’ll then be able to simply add yourself to the “walk-up list” and get ready for indulge your appetite!

Let’s walk through it. First, from the My Disney Experience App home screen click the “+” at the bottom to see these options below:

Click “Check Dining Availability”. Select your party size and date. Obviously, since this is a right now option, you’d select today’s date. You’ll see the new “Now” option as circled in the image below:

You’ll then be prompted to select an available Walk-Up List. Since we are putting this article together in the morning, you’ll see there is nothing currently available for breakfast. Restaurants are noted with “Walk-up list is currently unavailable to join due to high demand”.

When clicking into Kona Cafe, this message comes up noting “Walk-up List is at capacity”:

Hopefully, this new feature will be especially helpful for lunch and dinner in the parks as sometimes it’s nice to take a breather from Mobile Ordering and quick-service venues.

Overall, we’d still recommend making dining reservations for table-service restaurants 60-days in advance. We feel this “Walk-up List” is really for spontaneous meals. Don’t count on it to ensure there will be availability at your favorite restaurant.

WDW Expands Temperature Screenings to Table-Service Restaurant Guests

Another update from Walt Disney World today shows temperature screenings have been expanded to restaurants. Now, if you are dining at a Disney Resort table-service restaurant, you can plan for a temperature screening prior to entering the restaurant.

Found on Walt Disney World’s website under “Dining Experiences“:

“Temperature Screenings: Guests dining in table-service restaurants at Disney Resort hotels will undergo a temperature screening prior to entering the location. As with other locations at Walt Disney World Resort that require temperature screenings before entry, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will be directed to an additional rescreening. Those with temperatures 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either.”

The update can also be found under “Temperature Screenings“:

“You will be required to undergo a temperature screening with no-touch thermometers before entry to some locations at Walt Disney World Resort, including the Walt Disney World theme parks, the Disney Springs area and table-service restaurants at Disney Resort hotels.”

“Based on guidance from health authorities, anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will be directed to an additional location for rescreening and assistance. Those with temperatures 100.4 F or above will not be allowed entry; those in their party will not be allowed entry either. Before you leave home, be sure to check the temperatures of everyone in your party—including yourself—as an extra layer of precaution.”

New Restaurant to Open In Japan Pavilion @Epcot

Epcot’s World Showcase allows guests to visit 11 countries to experience their culture and cuisine. Food lovers will be thrilled to hear that Disney has announced the opening date of a new signature dining restaurant in the Japan pavilion.

This will be a Table Service Restaurant and will offer guests here a unique dining experience while at the same time taking in the natural beauty of Japan.

Expect a mix of natural beauty and Japanese craftsmanship to be present throughout the restaurant.

Takumi-Tei will open in the Japan pavilion at Epcot this summer and will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, which operates the merchandise, restaurants (Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining), and kiosks in the Japan pavilion.

The Japan Pavilion has been a World Showcase destination since the park opened in 1982 and since then, guests routinely add it to their must-do list as it has become a fan-favorite pavilion. Filled with Japanese architecture and iconic cultural offerings, there are so many things to see and explore in the pavilion.
