Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens its doors to guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort today. The park held an official dedication ceremony in the new land the day yesterday, and the #DisneyParksLIVE team were there to stream it live for you!
The fan-favorite Star Wars TV series: The Clone Wars will be returning to your screens for its final series.
Announced at D23 Expo’s Disney+ panel, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will be returning in February 2020, to air exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service.
All of the Star Wars films and series (released so far) will be available upon launch of the streaming service.
Disney Parks Blog shared an exciting announcement today! Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been named one of TIME Magazine’s World’s Greatest Places for 2019. The list is completed annually and recognizes 100 destinations around the world that are ” breaking new ground, leading industry trends and offering guests an experience that’s unlike any other.”
Since Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened on May 31st, 2019 at Disneyland Resort, there has already been over 1 million guests that have visited! The expansion is the largest single-themed land in Disney Parks’ history. It is easy to see why the land has become such a guest favorite.
According to Disney Parks Blog, “TIME Magazine measured the land across quality, originality, innovation, sustainability and influence, and as we countdown to the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort on Aug. 29, we look forward to giving even more of our guests the opportunity to explore the experience-based storytelling of this one-of-a-kind land.”
The new poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was just revealed at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California. As you can see Kylo Ren and Rey are battling each other with Emperor Palpatine watching from above.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will debut in theaters on December 20, 2019.
It was just announced at the D23 Expo that Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new original series coming to the Disney+ streaming service. The Series Producer, Kathleen Kennedy, states, “We have all the scripts written we’re ready to start shooting next year.”
Ewan McGregor played Obi-Wan Kenobi in all three of the Star Wars prequels “The Phantom Menace,” “Attack of the Clones,” and “Revenge of the Sith.”
