And just in time, Disney PhotoPass Service is launching numerous photo opportunities tomorrow in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We know some guests are off world and can’t travel at lightspeed to Batuu by tomorrow, so these experiences will continue to be available after the celebration ends. Check them out below.
New Holopuck Magic Shots
Located deep in the Outer Rim near Wild Space, the remote planet of Batuu has become a thriving destination for scoundrels and smugglers, luring bounty hunters from across the galaxy. If guests have come to track down their next bounty, select Image Scanners (known on our planet as Disney PhotoPass photographers) can offer a holopuck that will reveal the details of their next target.
BB-8 Magic Shot
This is the droid you’re looking for. Given the whispers about sightings of individuals associated with the Resistance around Black Spire Outpost, it’s no surprise that guests can spot this loveable and loyal astromech in their image.
Darksaber
Created more than a thousand years ago by Tarre Vizsla (the first Mandalorian to become a Jedi Knight), the Darksaber is an ancient weapon with a long and legendary history. It has been wielded by many beings over the years. Starting tomorrow, this blade can be found across from Oga’s Cantina after dark. Just remember the wise words Kanan Jarrus once shared about this lightsaber: “That sword is old, heavy, but powerful. Respect its strength.”
BD-1 Magic Shot
Never underestimate droids, especially those that beep in the face of danger. Be sure guests capture a scan with this droid companion before setting out on their next adventure.
While on planet, guests may never know what other adventures they might document with the help of Disney PhotoPass Service. A great way for guests to capture a variety of content is to ask each Image Scanner they encounter what special scans they can offer.
May the 4th be with you, always.

Back in 2019, The Mandalorian blasted into homes with the launch of The Walt Disney Company’s streaming service, Disney+. Pedro Pascal stars as the titular Mandalorian, the bounty hunter Din Djarin, and has since gone on to become one of the most beloved characters in the Star Wars galaxy.
The Mandalorian also brought “Baby Yoda” into the world. Grogu has captured hearts across the globe, and the relationship between the small green Force-user and Mando has been a fan-favorite element of Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s gritty space Western for the last almost four years.
Alongside Din Djarin and Grogu, many new characters stepped into the Star Wars universe, like Carl Weathers’ Greef Karga, Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon, and Gina Carano’s Cara Dune. There were some familiar faces too, though. The Mandalorian also served as the television show which debuted Nite Owls leader Bo-Katan Kryze and former Jedi Padawan Ahsoka Tano (played by Katee Sackhoff and Rosario Dawson, respectively) for the first time in live-action. Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan joined Pascal’s Din Djarin in top-billing for The Mandalorian Season 3, even going so far as to prove the popular TV series is not just about the latter anymore.
As for Ahsoka Tano, Dawson will reprise her role as the character in The Mandalorian spin-off and next chapter of the “Mando-Verse”, Ahsoka from Dave Filoni.
**Spoilers ahead for The Mandalorian Season 3, “Chapter 24: The Return”**
In the epilogue of the Season 3 finale, Pascal’s Din Djarin is seen approaching Carson Teva (Paul Sun-Hyung Lee) with a request to work for the New Republic on a case-by-case basis. This came after the official adoption of Grogu, now Din Grogu, in an official commencement by The Armorer (Emily Swallow) on Mandalore.
While meeting with Teva, Din Djarin acquires the head of an IG-series assassin droid “for parts.” It is later revealed by Din Djarin in front of Greef Karga and a crowd on Nevarro, that IG-11 has been remade and will serve as the new Marshal of Nevarro — the position previously held by Carano’s Cara Dune.
IG-11 first appeared in The Mandalorian Season 1 as a bounty hunter hired to kill Grogu, then simply called the Child, but later served as an ally for Din Djarin, even being made into a mech, IG-12, for Grogu in the third season of the series.
This is the official debut of Cara Dune’s replacement in the Star Wars universe and will go a long way in sealing the story of Dune’s presence in the galaxy far, far away, as well as the story of Gina Carano in The Mandalorian.
The Mandalorian joins The Book of Boba Fett as part of the “Mando-Verse”, with new Star Wars series additions like Ahsoka and Jude Law’s Skeleton Crew arriving later this year.
A new preview for the second season of Lucasfilm’s “Star Wars” anthology series, titled “Star Wars: Visions Volume 2,” has been unveiled by the company. This Emmy-nominated animated show is set to return with new episodes on Star Wars Day, May 4, 2023.
‘Star Wars: Visions’ Volume 2 Trailer
Set to premiere on Star Wars Day, “Star Wars: Visions” Volume 2 will showcase nine new shorts from nine different animation studios. These studios, located all over the world, each feature a unique style and will tell a different story set within a version of the “Star Wars” universe.
The trailer was revealed today during the “Star Wars: Visions” panel at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023.
One of the unique features of this series is its diversified production. Similarly to Volume 1, the new season will include a variety of animated “shorts” created by animation studios around the globe. This gives the series a different style for each installment in the volume. The studios for Volume 2 include:
El Guiri in Spain
Cartoon Saloon in Ireland
Punkrobot in Chile
Aardman in the United Kingdom
Studio Mir in South Korea
Studio La Cachette in France
88 Pictures in India
D’art Shtajio in Japan in collaboration with Lucasfilm Ltd. in the United States
Triggerfish in South Africa

Just released at Star Wars Celebration: Watch the new trailer for “Star Wars Visions” Volume 2, featuring nine new shorts from nine celebrated animation studios from across the globe.
James Waugh, one of the executive producers, made a comment on the show’s public reception after the Volume 2 studios were announced, according to Starwars.com. “The reaction to the first volume of Star Wars: Visions blew us away. We were delighted that this project inspired and resonated with so many people.” Waugh is also the senior vice president within Franchise Content & Strategy at Lucasfilm.
In addition to James Waugh, Jacqui Lopez and Josh Rimes will be executive producers for this upcoming season. The new volume will begin streaming on Star Wars Day: May 4, 2023, on Disney+.
“Star Wars: Visions” Volume 1 is currently available on Disney+.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch will return in 2024 for its third and final season.
“Clone Force 99 will be back for another mission.
Following the events of Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, it was confirmed today at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023 that Season 3 is on the way, arriving on Disney+ in 2024. Announced by executive producers Brad Rau, Jennifer Corbett, and Athena Portillo at the Bad Batch panel, it will be the final season as Lucasfilm finishes telling this part of the story.”
A teaser trailer was played at the panel but has not been released online yet.
StarWars.com described the teaser as follows:
It began with the Emperor (once again voiced by Palpatine actor Ian McDiarmid) visiting Dr. Royce Hemlock, leader of the Empire’s cloning efforts, on Mount Tantiss. “It is imperative that this facility remain secure,” Palpatine says. “Your brilliance is a great asset to this Empire.” All members of the Bad Batch appear, with Hunter addressing Omega’s capture at the hands of the Empire. “Omega’s been waiting for us. I’m not making her wait another day.” We see Omega and a sullen Crosshair, both still in Imperial custody. “I’m not giving up, Crosshair,” Omega tells him. “I won’t leave you, either. You’re my brother.” Throughout, there are glimpses of several worlds and characters, including Republic commandos, clones, Rex, plenty of giant creatures (“Why is there always a huge monster!” Wrecker asks, before dropping a thermal detonator in one’s mouth.), and Ming-Na Wen’s fan-favorite bounty hunter, Fennec Shand.
