Timothy Olyphant Will Star in 2nd Season of “The Mandalorian”

While the highly-anticipated next chapter of “The Mandalorian” draws closer and closer, more and more A-list names are being linked to the closely-guarded show. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, whispers throughout the galaxy have said that Timothy Olyphant has joined the saga, and will star in the second season of the show.

Olyphant will be joining Temuera Morrison, Rosario Dawson and Kaytee Sackhoff as newcomers to “The Mandalorian”, which will debut it’s second season on Disney+ this Fall. Known for playing tough characters on “Deadwood” and “Justified”, it has yet to be announced who (or perhaps, what) Olyphant will portray in the “Star Wars” universe.

Now that filming has wrapped on the second season of “The Mandalorian” and the third season is already in pre-production, hopefully more clues and sneak peeks will start to filter their way across the galaxy any time now.

Doctor Aphra Goes To Audiobook; Available For Download July 21st

Move over, Indy. Aphra’s back, and this time in her own audiobook. In Doctor Aphra: An Audiobook Original, our favorite rogue archaeologist is starring in a new audio drama. The expanded adaptation will tell the tale of the chaotically corrupt archaeologist’s introduction in Marvel’s Darth Vader series. In the story, Aphra makes a deal with the Sith Lord and begins a series of memorable misadventures. You can get a first look at the cover below.

Written by Sarah Kuhn, the audio drama will feature a full cast and include new scenes with some familiar faces. (And we’re sure that murder-droids Triple Zero and Bee Tee will be just as frightening, if not more so, in audio form.) Doctor Aphra: An Audiobook Original will be available for download everywhere audiobooks are sold on July 21.

Watch a message from writer Sarah Khun in the video below as she describes how the audiobook will be told from Aphra’s highly-unreliable narrative and span topics like her experiences, her relationships, and more.

New “Femaile-Centric” Star Wars Series Coming To Disney+

It’s been a big week for Star Wars, especially on Disney+, with the series finale of Star Wars: The Clone Wars racing to an epic finish, and even news of a third season of The Mandalorian already in pre-production. Now, Variety has broken more news from the Star Wars universe, with a new, unnamed, “female-centric” series coming to the streaming service.

The new series will be headed by Leslye Headland, the co-creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the critically-acclaimed Netflix series “Russian Doll.”

No exact details on the plot are known yet, but according to Variety, sources say it will be a female-centric series that takes place in a different part of the Star Wars timeline than other projects. Headland is said to be attached to write and serve as showrunner on the series, with the show currently staffing. (Many fans, including myself, are antsy at the thought of this potentially being the rumored Doctor Aphra project or an Ahsoka stand-alone series, but considering that this takes place “in a different part of the Star Wars timeline”, I’m more inclined to say it could be the former.)

Disney+ is proving to be the ultimate home for new Star Wars content, with two other series already in the works, including an Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor and a Cassian Andor (Rogue One) prequel series starring Diego Luna, and we can’t wait to see what comes next.
