From time to time, Disney updates menus at restaurants throughout Walt Disney World. Exciting menu updates are coming to The Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

From a Disney Cast Member;

Attention foodies! I’ve got some exciting, and tasty, news to share. A delicious destination at Walt Disney World Resort will be getting some new additions to its menu – The Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

This location will be getting a variety of new dishes sure to make you and your taste buds very happy starting tomorrow, August 9. Whether you like sweet, savory, or a little of both, you’ll want to check out this location on your next visit once you see what the talented culinary team has in store for you.

Let’s race over to Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa to see what flavors The Artist’s Palette has painted up for us, shall we?

This location offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and, starting tomorrow, will be home to a new selection of eats and some returning favorites, all available on mobile order! Start your day with Chef Nick Walker’s new plant-based creation – the Avocado Toast – because who doesn’t love avocado toast? This breakfast bite features avocado, cherry tomatoes, radish, pickled red onions, arugula, and “aïoli” on toasted sunflower bread.

f you’re in for a sweeter start, try the French Toast Strata, a popular breakfast offering now updated with a delicious crème anglaise. It’s also served with fresh berries and your choice of bacon or sausage.

On the move for an exciting adventure at the resort or parks? The grab-and-go market section is filled with offerings sure to please your palette, including the new Charcuterie with Chef’s selection of cheeses, cured meats, and traditional accompaniments. Another addition will be the Turkey BLT served with chef’s house-made pimento cheese.

Any sandwich lovers out there? How about ones from Western New York? If so, the Beef on Weckis inspired by the classic mainstay of the region. It’s made up of sliced brisket and horseradish cream on a caraway brioche bun served with au jus and Saratoga chips. Another handheld option is the tasty Tuna Salad Sandwich on toasted sunflower bread.

For pizza lovers, The Artist’s Palette is home to a wonderful pizza hearth, with dough prepared in-house. The Margherita Pizza remains but has been updated from its previous iteration, now with mozzarella, fresh pizza sauce, and basil pistou on house-made pizza dough.

As dinnertime rolls around after 4:00 p.m., this spot will feature three create-your-own entrées – the Homestyle MeatloafSautéed Garlic Shrimp, and Herb-roasted Chicken. All three of these dishes are served with your choice of two sides – Yukon gold mashed potatoes, garlic green beans, roasted rainbow carrots, steamed white rice, or edamame succotash. What a meal!

If you’re a fan of the longtime favorite, the Saratoga Salad, don’t worry. This staple is here to stay! It combines mixed field greens, feta, dried cranberries, apples, spiced walnuts, crispy ciabatta croutons, and lemon-poppy seed vinaigrette. Now that’s my kind of salad. Another signature offering that you can’t miss is the Ham & Cheese Panini. This bite features sliced ham, smoked gouda, dijon mustard, and quattro formaggi spread pressed to perfection.

For a sweet finish, the bakery team has put together two new treats you’re going to love. First up is the Derby Day Pie. This delight is inspired by traditional sweets from a day at the racetrack and features a pie shell with chocolate-nut filling topped with buttercream and horseshoe décor. Also new, the signature Artist’s Palette Cookie is a mouthwatering sugar cookie with icing ‘paint’ and strawberry biscuit stick ‘paintbrush.’ It’s adorable and delicious.

Two Walt Disney World Resort Lobbies To Undergo Refurbishment

Two of Disney’s popular Disney Vacation Club Resorts are scheduled to undergo refurbishment in the near future. Both Disney’s Old Key West Resort and Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort will have their lobbies and front desks refurbished.

As reported by DVCNews: “Work at Saratoga Springs will begin with a closure of the connecting lounge that runs between the front desk and Artist’s Palette. On July 12, the porte cochere is slated to close.”

Flying into Saratoga at this time? The great news is Disney’s airport transportation, the Disney’s Magic Express, will continue to run from the normal pick up and drop off location. There will however be a temporarily walkway for guests to reach the front desk. If you’re driving, you will be offered a chance to do curbside check-in at the Disney Vacation Club Preview Center. Thankfully, check-in is also now made super easy right from your phone with the My Disney Experience App. As the Carriage House begins refurbishment in August, front desk and concierge will be relocated to the hallway lounge.

Disney’s Old Key West Refurbishment Details:

It looks like much of the same work can be expected for the neighboring Disney’s Old Key West Resort. DVCNews shares: “Once the den modifications are complete, it will temporarily house Cast Members as the front desk is refurbished.”

Both Disney’s Old Key West and Disney’s Saratoga Springs will begin the updates on the lobbies beginning June 28, 2021. Disney has yet to release a timeline for completion.

Lawsuit Filed Against Disney Surrounding Fire Code Violation & Bullying During Resort Renovation

Disney is currently up against a lawsuit surrounding the renovation of Walt Disney World’s Saratoga Springs Resort. Fire code violation and bullying are at the center of the lawsuit.

As shared by the OrlandoSentinel:

A fire code violation found at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa caused major construction delays and inflated costs during the hotel’s $48 million renovation, according to a lawsuit that depicts a legal fight between Disney’s timeshare business and an Orlando construction company.

The lawsuit filed by Validus Construction Services owner Nicole Wickens also accuses Disney’s construction team of making misogynistic comments and belittling her with memes and messages, such as texting pictures of hot sauce packets to “emphasize that Disney would put the ‘heat’ on Validus.”

Wickens sued Disney Vacation Club Management last month in Orange Circuit Court for unspecified damages for breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation.

Within two or three weeks into the project, when crews opened up a wall, they found a defect that violated fire and building code. “This life-safety issue existed at the property for more than 15 years without having previously been corrected by Disney,” the lawsuit said.

Disney’s project manager, John Gavin, accused Validus of leading the inspector to point out the fire code violation, the lawsuit said. “In so many words, Mr. Gavin accused Validus of refusing to maintain a conspiracy of silence.” The defect was the lack of proper fire protection in the cavities between floors, the lawsuit said.

Tensions also bubbled up between Wickens and Gavin who harassed and embarrassed her and her team, the lawsuit said. Gavin and the Disney team regularly sent memes to mock her when Validus reached out to discuss matters related to the project, the lawsuit said.

Mobile Ordering Comes To Artist’s Palette & Capt. Cook’s

Guests can now skip the line and order their meals at these quick-service locations through the My Disney Experience app. When you get near the restaurant, all you have to do is press “I’m Here” on the app and head to the Mobile Order pick-up area to enjoy their meal without the wait. Mobile Ordering has expanded significantly at Walt Disney World in 2019. Most recently, Mobile Order was made available at the Milk Stand, Ronto Roasters, and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and at Roaring Fork at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
