Rise of The Resistance Boarding Being Passed Out At Opening of Park

Since Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opened, the attraction has utilized a boarding group system that required guests to enter the park and then obtain said group in the MyDisneyExperience app in order to ride. On top of this, the park has been unofficially opening anywhere from 30-120 minutes ahead of the scheduled opening time, allowing guests to grab that boarding group way before the park’s official opening time. Today, things have gone a little differently…

While the park did allow guests in before the official 7am opening time (at 6:30am guests were admitted), cast members have informed guests that they will not be able to join a boarding group until 7am. On top of this, the attractions in the park did not open prior to 7am either.

It is unknown if this is a one-day policy change or if it will be the way the process works from now on, but we will certainly keep you posted on this and further operational changes for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney To LiveStream Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Dedication Ceremony on December 4th

RISE OF THE RESISTANCE — Disney guests will traverse the corridors of a Star Destroyer and join an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance – including a face-off with Kylo Ren – when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opens Dec. 5, 2019 at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Jan. 17, 2020 at Disneyland Resort in California. At 14 acres each, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is Disney’s largest single-themed land expansion ever. (Joshua Sudock/Disney Parks)

Thursday, December 5th marks the official grand opening of the Rise of the Resistance attraction at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Select members of the media are invited to a special preview event tomorrow, December 4th, but that doesn’t mean the rest of us have to miss out. Disney Parks will be live streaming the attraction’s dedication ceremony on YouTube for all to see.

In it, guests will join the Resistance and depart from Batuu in a transport ship to meet General Leia Organa at a secret rendezvous point. However, on their way to the hidden base, guests are intercepted and taken prisoner by the First Order as their ship is drawn into the hangar bay of a Star Destroyer. The action then ramps up as guests seek to escape the clutches of Kylo Ren and the First Order.

The dedication ceremony for the attraction is set to take place at 6:55 PM (EST).

It is during this dedication ceremony that we expect to see the highly-anticipated X-wing drones (and possibly more) fly over the land as part of the grand opening spectacular. Cast Member parking lot closures tied to the X-wing drone project are scheduled to take place on the 5th and 6th of December as well, indicating that these may fly a second or third time throughout the attraction’s opening week.

To watch the live stream, simply visit the Disney Parks Blog on December 4  p.m.

Leaked Photos Inside New Rise of The Resistance Ride

With the opening of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios getting ever closer, leaked shots from the attraction interior continue to surface. The latest leaked images show the interior of the Resistance Intersystem Transport Ship that will shuttle guests from the pre-show of the attraction to the next scene.

The Resistance Intersystem Transport Ship will act as a post-pre-show in the sense that this is where guests will walk in after the pre-show and be “transported” to a different location. Analogous to the elevators in the Haunted Mansion, the shuttle will “drop off” guests inside a different room within the attraction after turning 180 degrees via a turntable mechanism.

According to the attraction’s storyline, Poe Dameron will invite guests on a mission onboard his X-wing, but somewhere along the way, the shuttle will be intercepted by a First Order Star Destroyer and tractor beamed onto its hangar bay.

The interior of the shuttle, much like many forms of transportation, will have standing and sitting room while guests are transported.

The Resistance Intersystem Transport Ship has been on display at Walt Disney Presents for some time now along with the rest of the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge models.
