Kali River Rapids at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closing for refurbishment in early 2020. This typically occurs annually, as temperatures drop in Florida.
Kali River Rapids is scheduled to be down from January 6, 2020 until March 20, 2020. It will reopen to guests on March 21, 2020, just in time for the busier spring season.
2020 may just be the year of refurbishments, especially as we gear up for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary in 2021. At the Magic Kingdom, Splash Mountain is scheduled to undergo its yearly refurbishment in January 2020.
The refurbishment is expected to begin on January 6th and will last through February 27th, with the attraction reopening on February 28, 2020. Annual refurbishments like these are usually just an attraction-wide refresh, and as of publishing time, no changes have been listed as coming to the attraction.

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is a personal favorite of mine, as well as a fan favorite for many passholders and guests.
Well, due to its increased popularity, it seems they’ve added it to the ongoing list of refurbishments and improvements. Tomorrowland received a series of new paint jobs not too long ago, and more recently, we’ve seen Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. get new phone charging stations, as well as construction walls in Mickey’s Star Traders.
