Ed Asner, Voice of Carl Fredricksen in Disney Pixar’s ‘Up,’ Dies at 91

TV and film actor Ed Asner died on August 29th at 91. According to his family, he passed Sunday, surrounded by loved ones. Asner is known for his voice role in Disney Pixar’s “Up.” Asner voiced Carl Fredricksen, a 78-year-old looking for, and finding, adventure.

Asner is best known for playing Lou Grant on both “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Lou Grant.” Asner won five Emmy Awards for the role. In all, Asner was awarded seven Emmy trophies.

In addition to his television success, Asner also appeared in numerous films, most notably playing Santa Claus in the Will Ferrell hit “Elf.”

Asner was previously married to Nancy Lou Sykes from 1959 to 1988. The couple had three children: Kate and twins Matthew and Liza.

New Trailer Released for Disney & Pixar’s “Luca”

Disney and Pixar have worked up a new film called “Luca” that we’re all impatiently waiting to release this summer! This new comedy-fantasy film was originally set to be released in theaters on June 18, but instead Disney has announced it will be released on Disney+ with no extra charge. The newest trailer has been released.

This seaside town called Portorosso, is the perfect place for Luca and his best friend, Alberto, to enjoy their land legs. The trick will be keeping the fact that they are sea monsters a secret! Mark those calendars for June 18 Disney fans, as this will be a fun one for the whole family.

New Toy Story-Themed Disney Resort Name Announced

If you’re a super fan of all things surrounding the Disney / Pixar films, Toy Story, then you may want to start saving up for a plane ticket to Japan! A new resort is in the works, and Disney has announced the resort’s official name.

As shared by DisneyParksBlog: “Tokyo Disney Resort has announced that its new Toy Story-themed hotel will be called Tokyo Disney Resort Toy Story Hotel. With 595 guest rooms and 11 floors, the hotel’s exterior, entrance, lobby and other areas will bring to life the world of toys based on the Academy Award-winning Disney and Pixar “Toy Story” films. This will be the fifth Disney hotel to open in Japan but the first “moderate type” Disney hotel in the country, offering guests a new option between “deluxe type” and “value type” hotels. The hotel is situated directly in front of Bayside Station on the Disney Resort Line, providing guests easy access to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea Parks.”

We’re excited to see how this new Disney Resort unfolds! We absolutely adore all things Toy Story, so we are looking forward to a resort that incorporates all the favorite Toy Story characters such as Woody, Buzz and Jessie. Sheriff Woody Gets a New Look at Hong Kong Disneyland

Sheriff Woody from Disney / Pixar Toy Story films has taken on a new character look at Hong Kong Disneyland. It looks like maybe Woody took on a New Year’s resolution and slimmed down a little and is less shiny!

As we previously shared, Hong Kong Disneyland just reopened from their third closure due to COVID-19. After 25 years, Woody debuted his fantastic new look. While character meet and greets are still modified, you can see him in Hong Kong Disneyland’s Toy Story Land.
