Watch the new trailer for Elemental

This Summer, meet the residents of Element City.

Watch the new trailer for Disney and Pixar’s #Elemental and see the movie in 3D, only in theaters June 16! Check out a brand-new trailer for Disney and Pixar’s “Elemental,” an all-new original feature film that transports moviegoers to an extraordinary place called Element City, where a host of elements live and work. The trailer showcases each element—air, earth, water and fire—and what sets them apart according to Ember, a quick-witted and fiery woman who’s always stayed close to home in Firetown.

In “Elemental,” which opens in theaters on June 16, she finally ventures out of her comfort zone to explore this spectacular world born from the imaginations of Pixar’s filmmakers and specifically crafted for the big-screen experience. Element City is inspired by big cities around the globe and embraces theorized contributions from each elemental community—from giant pine-tree-like buildings and waterfall skyscrapers to a tornado-shaped arena called Cyclone Stadium.

Joining the previously announced voice cast including Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie as Ember and Wade, respectively, are Ronnie del Carmen as Ember’s soon-to-be retired dad, Bernie; Shila Ommi as Ember’s love-seeking mom, Cinder; Wendi McLendon-Covey as Wade’s stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine O’Hara as Wade’s welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer as Ember’s admiring earth neighbor, Clod; and Joe Pera as an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern.

Directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, p.g.a., and executive produced by Pete Docter, “Elemental” features a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh. The film’s original score was composed and conducted by Thomas Newman.

Oscar-Winner and Longtime Disney/Pixar Artist Ralph Eggleston Dead at 56

When it comes to the beauty of filmmaking, fans quickly become familiar with the actors behind their favorite roles. They may also become big fans of those who direct and write those films. When it comes to animated movies, some of the biggest behind-the-scenes players are, of course, the animators. They create every amazing detail that we see on the screen. Even films that are completely computer-generated would be nothing without the animators creating the characters. Sadly, the animation world has lost a powerhouse creator who worked with both The Walt Disney Company and Pixar for over three decades.

You may not know the name Ralph Eggleston right off the top of your head, but he is behind some of Disney and Pixar’s most iconic films. In his more than 30 years with the two companies, he worked on a ton of incredible projects, including Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Lion King, Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, Cars, Inside Out, and The Incredibles, just to name a few.

Unfortunately, we have learned that Eggleston has passed away at the age of 56.

According to Variety, which was one of the first to break the news of Eggleston’s death, the longtime art director died after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

After news of Eggleston’s death broke, Pixar and those who worked with the talented filmmaker took to social media to share their heartbreak and honor Eggleston and his amazing contributions to the film world.

Buzz Lightyear’s Wardrobe Malfunction

Although the Disney Parks are advertised as perfect and magical places, unfortunately, Disney characters experience wardrobe malfunctions or mishaps from time to time.

In the past, we have seen this happen with Ariel’s fin getting stuck during a performance of Voyage of The Little Mermaid show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as Mike Wazowski losing an arm during a show in Tomorrowland at Walt Disney World.

A video shared on Twitter went semi-viral earlier today, showing a very peculiar wardrobe malfunction taking place during a Disney parade. You can see the full video linked below:

Twitter user @mo_dona21 shared the video, which shows Buzz atop a parade’s “Toy Story” float. His chest plate somehow fell off earlier in the parade, but the Cast Member continued on and acted as if nothing had happened.

The specific parade shown in the video is the Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights, a fun spin on the classic Main Street Electrical Parade at the American Disney Resorts. All of the Disney stars are literally sparkling in this nighttime parade of lights and music.

If “Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights” is canceled due to rain, the mini parade “Nightfall Glow” will be presented instead. Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and their Disney Friends want to have a lovely time, especially when it rains! They appear in this shimmering interlude of lights aboard floats that glow in a rainbow of colors to light up the Park on a rainy night.

The parade starts in Toontown, proceeds around the Plaza and through Westernland, and exits through Fantasyland. The parade features Mickey and his pals, including characters from Aladdin, Toy Story, and other Disney films, appearing on colorful floats, nighttime in the Park is even more fantasy-filled.
