Draw Mickey Mouse at Home with a Disney Parks Artist

More and more of us are looking for special things to do that bring some magic to our days as we face the challenges we have before us (mainly being around the kids 24/7). That’s why we’re so excited to share with you that Disney is working hard to bring magic into your days with at-home educational content, such as the Imagineering in a Box, and with today’s feature, how to draw the true original, Mickey Mouse! Catch all the details below!

If you’re looking for a fun, creative way to add some Disney magic to your day, we’re sharing something special – a complete series of how-to tutorials on drawing Mickey Mouse through the years.

Disney cast member Stephen Ketchum has been drawing Mickey at Disney Parks for years and has expert tips for artists of all skill levels. While the parks remain temporarily closed, we’ve combined Stephen’s best Mickey tutorials and the collection includes learning to draw a vintage 1920’s Mickey as well as lessons on creating more contemporary and whimsical “pied-eyed” versions you’ll want to show your friends and family.

First, we’re beginning with easy to follow instructions on how to draw Mickey as artists would have created him in the late 1920s.  You begin with a simple circle and then use lightly drawn curved lines to create Mickey.

Drawing a more contemporary looking Mickey has just a few different shapes added.

And finally, creating a perfect “pied-eyed” Mickey begins with an oval shape instead of a standard circle followed again by lightly drawn curved lines to finish your own work of art.

Grab some paper and try all three Mickeys now!  Use #Disney and #BetterTogether on Instagram and tag us at @DisneyParksBlog with your artwork, and for a chance to be featured.

Ink & Paint MagicBand Now On Sale

If you’re looking to add a splash of color to your MagicBand collection, the latest MagicBand to arrive at Walt Disney World is from the “Ink & Paint” merchandise collection. The collection is inspired by the creative process of animation and features characters from some of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ earliest films.

The navy band is covered in Mickey-shaped paint splotches and splatters, making it perfect for any inspiring artist. The different shades of paint on the band are fuchsia, red, lavender, lime green, sky blue, and yellow. The plain navy icon is the only section of the MagicBand that stayed safe from the flying spots of paint.

You can bring this limited release MagicBand masterpiece home with you for $29.99.

Adidas Has Released The CNY: Mickey Mouse Shoe Pack To Celebrate The Year of The Rat

Adidas Originals ushers in the Year of the Rat in a playfully eccentric style with the CNY: Mickey Mouse Pack. Bringing one of the world’s most iconic animated characters, Disney’s Mickey Mouse, together with two of sportswear’s most revered footwear silhouettes, the Stan Smith and Superstar, the pack celebrates tradition, pop-culture, and design heritage.

Serving as a subtle nod to important numbers in Chinese tradition, the pack is comprised of three distinct sneakers – the “CNY Mickey Mouse Stan Smith 3D”, the “CNY Mickey Mouse – Out of Office Stan Smith”, and the “CNY Mickey Mouse – Out of Office Superstar”.

Perfectly merging aesthetic heritage with modern style, the “CNY Mickey Mouse Stan Smith 3D” features an all-over three-dimensional graphic upper and printed insoles. The striking sneaker is capped off with a pair of 3D glasses, allowing the wearer to experience the silhouette in an innovative way, turning the designs into a fully readable comic strip.

The “CNY Mickey Mouse Out of Office” Stan Smith and Superstar shine a light of the original style of two adidas archival icons while offering an energetic update. Each sneaker is made up of a full-grain leather upper which features bold Mickey Mouse graphics. In a fittingly whimsical style, the two “Out of Office” sneakers are finished off with a handwritten printed message declaring that Mickey is taking a trip away for the Lunar New Year.

The CNY: Mickey Mouse pack released globally on January 18th, and is available at adidas.com.
