Young Avengers Could Be Developed By Marvel Studios

Source wdwnt.com

Calling all Marvel Fans! For a long time, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been hinting at a Young Avengers project and it seems it may finally come to fruition.

Earlier this week Senior Editor of Geeks WorldWide, Thomas Polito tweeted that Marvel Studios was arranging to hear some pitches for an adaptation of the beloved comic.

It hasn’t been revealed whether the plan is for a film or television show yet. In fact, it is unsure if even Marvel Studios knows what direction they want to take the property in.

This is definitely an exciting announcement as the Young Avengers has been rumored to be added to the MCU for some time, and the comic itself, as you can imagine, has a big following.

According to ComicBook.com, Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios has previously stated that “anything from the books that we haven’t yet done in film is always on the table.”

So it seems it was only a matter of time, and the time has finally come. However, don’t get too excited yet, as the production process of any Marvel property could take up to years to be completed, and writing pitches is just the very beginning of it.

On the bright side, this was some much-needed MCU news. With Marvel’s plans to release six films and eight shows on Disney+ being thwarted by the Coronavirus pandemic, which included the delay of the release of “Black Widow” and the production shut down of “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”, it’s nice to hear Marvel is still continuing to create future plans.

“Black Widow” Release Postponed

With growing concerns about the spread of coronavirus, Disney has decided to delay the release of the highly-anticipated “Black Widow” film, which was slated to hit movie theaters May 1, 2020.

Less than a week ago, Disney postponed “Mulan”, “The New Mutants”, and “Antlers” which were all scheduled for release in March and April.

The CDC currently recommends against gatherings of 50 or more people. Many movie theaters, including AMC 24 at Disney Springs, have closed or will be closing in the coming days to prevent the spread of the virus. Movies that were released before widespread closures have been taking a hit in the box office, including Disney’s “Onward”, which was released earlier this month.

No new date has been announced for “Black Widow”, but we will keep you updated as news surrounding coronavirus develops.

Marvel Tv Series Gets Its Commercial During The Super Bowl

What an awesome time to be a Marvel fan! Disney+ just ran a preview during the Super Bowl game of all of the incredible Marvel projects coming to the streaming network and we’ve never been more excited.

Let’s take a look:

The Falcon and the Winter Solider

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, reprise their roles in ’ ”The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which finds Falcon and the Winter Soldier teaming up after “Avengers: Endgame.” Emily VanCamp will also return to her role as Sharon Carter. Rounding out the cast is Wyatt Russell who will play John Walker—a character from the comics coming to the screen for the first time. “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” will launch on Disney+ in Fall 2020.

WandaVision

Does this show look awesome or what!? For us, the WandaVision segments were the standout moments of the clip above and have us really excited for the show which is set to debut on Disney+ in the Spring of 2021. During D23 last August, Randall Park, playing the role of Jimmy  Woo called the upcoming show “something totally fresh and weird!”  Kevin Feige echoed this last year saying that the concept would only work as a series and not a movie. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will be back in their roles as Scarlet Witch and Vision and it’s even been said that Kat Dennings will be reprising her role as Darcy from Thor in the series!

Marvel Disney+

Loki

Earlier this week we announced that pre-production had already started on the Disney+ series Loki which will see Tom Hiddleston resuming his role as the title character. Disney and Marvel are being tight-lipped about plot details for the series but it’s expected to follow the incarnation of Loki from the alternate 2012 timeline that escaped with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame.  Time travel is expected to factor heavily in the series with the Asgardian God of Mischief visiting key historical events throughout the MCU. It a was also announced this week that Owen Wilson has signed on for (an as yet unnamed) role in the series.
