Super Bowl MVP Spends The Day @ WDW

Imagine winning the Super Bowl one day and spending the very next day at Walt Disney World! Sounds like a dream come true right?! Well, check out Patrick Mahomes’ day at Walt Disney World with a special focus on Make-A-Wish as shared by DisneyParksBlog:

Mere hours after leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a dramatic victory in Super Bowl LIV, MVP Patrick Mahomes on Monday was whisked away to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida for a celebratory day full of magical moments for the star quarterback and his fans. 

Mahomes was the star of a parade down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park where he thanked Chiefs fans for their support – whether they were lining the route or watching from home. With confetti bursting overhead, he waved to cheering fans alongside Mickey Mouse. 

Joining Mahomes on this adventure was a 10-year-old Make-A-Wish child from Texas named Nathaniel, who participated in the parade as part of his dream-come-true day. Nathaniel also traveled to a galaxy far, far away with Mahomes, experiencing the groundbreaking new attraction Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. 

In addition to Nathaniel, 17 other Make-A-Wish children whose wishes were to attend the Super Bowl extended their magical wishes by visiting Magic Kingdom Park today. They got to spend time with Mahomes, shaking hands with the superstar and getting special footballs courtesy of the MVP. 

The inclusion of Make-A-Wish in Disney’s Super Bowl campaign this year is an extension of Disney’s commitment to deliver comfort and inspiration to children facing serious illnesses. That commitment also includes the just-announced Disney Parks donation of $1 million to Make-A-Wish in honor of Mahomes as part of Disney Parks’ designation as presenting sponsor of the Super Bowl MVP ceremony. Currently, Disney helps grant more than 10,000 wishes each year for children around the world.

Make-A-Wish’s Most Popular Disney Meet & Greets

With more than 10,000 wishes granted at Disney Parks each year, we know that wishing for a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort and a cruise on Disney Cruise Line are popular options. Let’s take a look at some of the most popular characters that Wish Kids request to meet.

Anna and Elsa

Who wouldn’t want to make their Disney vacation even more magical by chilling out with the royal sisters from “Frozen.” Wish Kids love getting the chance to pose for a photo and share a warm hug before setting off on their own magical adventures at Disney Parks.

Mickey Mouse

No trip to a Disney Park is complete without an encounter with the big cheese himself, Mickey Mouse. If requesting wishes to Disney Parks, it’s no wonder that meeting Mickey is one of the most popular requests. The greatest magic of all happens when you get a chance to hang out with Mickey Mouse himself!

Buzz and Woody

The “Toy Story” pals have had some amazing adventures together, and now they’re looking forward to making new memories with our guests, including Wish Kids. Buzz Lightyear and his pal Sheriff Woody are always making new friends and are a top pick amongst Wish Kids.

Lightning McQueen and Mater

Another popular choice for Wish Kids to wish to meet is the best friend duo of Lightning McQueen and mater. They’re usually coming straight from the track and ready for some R&R in Radiator Springs where they are excited to greet Wish Kids on their trip.

Moana

Last, but certainly not least, the adventurous Princess Moana meetups are favorites for Wish Kids. Meeting with Moana gives them a chance to share their own enchanting island adventures with the heroic teen who inspired so many kids around the world to see how far they’ll go.

  • Nearly half of the children eligible for wishes through wish-granting nonprofit organizations in the United States choose a Disney-inspired wish, including visits to Walt Disney World Resort.
  • Disney has a longstanding partnership with Make-A-Wish, dating back to 1980 when the first official wish kid’s dreams came true at Disneyland Resort.
  • Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, sits on the national board of directors for the organization.
  • One of every two Make-A-Wish wishes in the United States comes true each year in partnership with The Walt Disney Company.
  • Throughout the years, more than 130,000 Disney-inspired wishes have been granted through Make-A-Wish.
