Now, you’ll surely have “it’s a small world” stuck in your head for the rest of the day. What can we say except, you’re welcome!
Walt Disney World Resort President Josh D’Amaro has been like a ray of sunshine during park closures, consistently visiting the parks and updating his followers on how the parks are looking during this grim time of indefinite closures.
Yesterday, we shared the photo that Josh posted on his Instagram of the Fantasia-themed Sorcerer Mickey topiary in EPCOT and his extremely heartfelt caption.
Well, the prince of park closures is back and this time, he’s sharing photos of some essential Cast Members at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
In the picture of Josh and the Cast Members, it’s a bittersweet feeling to see a group standing in front of the “Partners” statue and Cinderella Castle, without any park-goers bustling quickly around them. On a happier note, though, it is heartwarming to know that our beloved Main Street U.S.A. is not alone during this time and is still being looked after until we can return.
In the second photo, you see Cast Members name tags with blue tape across them with short and inspiring messages, such as “Tomorrow”, “Ready”, “Be Alright”.
In the caption for these photos, Josh wrote,
“I made a quick visit to Magic Kingdom to thank a small group of Cast Members who are still taking care of the magic. I love seeing so many of our team wearing messages of courage and optimism on their name tags…until the day we welcome all of our Cast and Guests back to this special place.”
Who’s ready for “the wildest ride in the wilderness”?! We may not be able to physically be inside the parks to ride along, but we are excited for a virtual ride on this wild mine train coaster at Magic Kingdom. Check out the details and video below from DisneyParksBlog:

The pre-parade takes place every year, right before the Festival of Fantasy main parade and also features Mr. & Mrs. Easter Bunny, Thumper & Ms. Bunny, White Rabbit, Yellow Rabbit, Clara Cluck, Hippos, Ostriches, and Dancing Chicks. You can view last year’s pre-parade in the video below!
Despite unprecedented parks closures due to COVID-19 and even recent salary cuts for executives, it seems Disney is always looking to expand, and now it’s purchased even more acres of land just west of the Magic Kingdom.
“An entity related to Burbank, California-based The Walt Disney Co. has scooped up more land near Magic Kingdom.
On March 31, Celebration Co. bought 26.3 acres for $1.05 million, or roughly $39,923 an acre, west of its theme park and on the southeastern shore of Reedy Lake, Orange County records showed. Winter Garden-based Lake Reedy Development Group LLC was the seller.”
Just last December, Disney purchased an adjacent 235 acres for $6 million. Land purchases such as these are typically related to future developments. Despite current financial setbacks for the company, land is still a finite commodity that can hold its value over the years. Whether this area will be used for a future expansion, resort, or simply additional landscaping to further the secluded ambiance of Walt Disney World Resort is unknown. The land’s proximity to Reedy Lake has also been attributed to a potential upscale, exclusive getaway on the edge of Disney property, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Disney has not made any official statements regarding the land purchase.
