Disney After Hours Boo Bash Dates & Pricing Announced

We previously shared the exciting news that Disney After Hours Boo Bash is coming to Magic Kingdom this fall! While we missed Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2020, we’re thrilled there are spooks and treats headed to Magic Kingdom for 2021. Now, Disney has revealed dates and pricing for the special ticketed event.

As shared by Disney: Fantasy reigns at Magic Kingdom Park, especially as we get ready for Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary in October and “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” Case in point, we recently announced the park will soon be your ghost host for “Disney After Hours Boo Bash” on 23 select nights later this year, starting Aug. 10 and continuing through Oct. 31 from 9 p.m. to midnight.* We are thrilled to share some more frightfully fun details on what you will experience during this limited-capacity separately ticketed event:

  • Special cavalcades will pop up throughout the night including “Mickey’s Happy Halloween Cavalcade,” with Mickey Mouse and friends dressed up for the occasion. In the “Disney Villains Halloween Cavalcade,” villains will take to the street and celebrate their favorite time of the year. “Jack’s Nightmare Cavalcade” will feature Jack Skellington, Sally and Oogie Boogie riding down the parade path to “This is Halloween,” and last, but definitely not least (we would never say that about her!), Maleficent will also make an appearance in the form of a fire-breathing dragon.
  • Some of your favorite friends will be lurking about – from the lovely Miss Carlotta at the Haunted Mansion to Goofy and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their Halloween best, with other surprise characters popping up across the park, too. You can even stop and listen to the Cadaver Dans during their special comeback (from the dead) performance.
  • Select complimentary snacks like ice cream novelties and popcorn, along with select beverages, are included in the cost of the event.
  • After the park closes to day guests, enjoy less time waiting in line for more than 20 attractions including Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Haunted Mansion attraction, Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Peter Pan’s Flight, Space Mountain and more.
  • A variety of specialty food and drinks will be available for purchase including an Apple Ginger Dale frozen drink (frozen apple cider mixed with ginger ale and topped with whipped cream) and a Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake.)**
  • Disney PhotoPass will also be available to take your magical and spooky shots throughout the night.
  • “Disney After Hours Boo Bash” tickets will grant admission to Magic Kingdom Park as early as 7 p.m., giving you time to enjoy even more of your favorite Magic Kingdom Park haunts before the event begins. These dated event tickets do not require an additional day theme park ticket or Disney Park Pass theme park reservation.
Foolish Mortal Funnel Cake

As we shared previously, all foolish mortals can dress in costume for the event and you can get your fill of Halloween candy while trick-or-treating around the park. Costume masks are not permitted for adults; they can only be worn by children under 14. Before you arrive for the “Disney After Hours Boo Bash” event, please check our Know Before You Go page and Costume Policy for the most up-to-date information. Please note that health and safety measures, policies and operational guidelines are subject to change.

Tickets for this hauntingly fun-filled three-hour event will go on sale June 15 and can be purchased online or by calling 407-939-4240. Magic Kingdom At Capacity on Fourth of July

If you’re planning a visit to Walt Disney World for the Fourth of July, you’ll find Magic Kingdom is no longer available for the holiday. As a reminder, guests must make a Theme Park Reservations to gain access to a Disney park.

As shown on the Theme Park Reservation calendar, all three ticket tiers including Theme Park Tickets, Select Resort Hotels, and Annual Passes are showing no parks available on July 4. You’ll also want to take note that Disney’s Hollywood Studios is currently only available for Annual Passholders.

Fourth of July at Walt Disney World has always been one of the most popular days for guests to visit. During pre-pandemic days they had epic firework displays and would always deliver something amazing for the holiday. Since COVID-19 we have yet to see the return of fireworks, except for the small occasional bursts of fireworks by Cinderella Castle during the Christmas holiday in 2020. Do you think Disney will have fireworks ready to roll in time for July 4?

June 2021 Magic Kingdom Refurbishments

Via DisDining.com

Are you planning your most magical trip yet to Walt Disney World this June? Whether you’re visiting for Father’s Day or simply to spend a little time surrounded by Pixie Dust, Disney is ready to invite you home. There are however a few refurbishments you’ll want to take note of as you prepare your days in the parks.

There are currently four closures listed beginning June 1, 2021 on the Walt Disney World refurbishment calendar.

1. Walt Disney World Railroad (Magic Kingdom):

Sorry Disney fans, this one has been closed for a LONG time now, and we are missing it dearly. The railroad closed temporarily way back on December 3, 2018 and has remained closed since. The extended closure is due to the construction of the new attraction, Tron Lightcycle Run. Our best guess is that we won’t have a chance to take a ride on the railroad until Tron opens… which has yet to be announced.

2. The Hall of Presidents (Magic Kingdom):

No surprise here as Disney is hard at work preparing Hall of Presidents for the 46th President, Joe Biden. For Trump’s Presidency, the attraction closed in January 2017 for refurbishment and reopened in December 2017. If history repeats itself, we are hoping to see Hall of Presidents reopen in December 2021.

3. Main Street Confectionery (Magic Kingdom):

Yes, this tasty shop filled with delightful treats closed on March 29, 2021 for a lengthy refurbishment. Currently, the refurbishment calendar has the Confectionery listed as under refurbishment through August 7, 2021. Note – August 7 is as far as Disney’s park hours are currently listed at the time of writing this article which is as far as the refurbishment calendar goes. This refurbishment could go longer once the calendar is updated. Get excited though because when it reopens Disney has said we will have a chance to customize our confections!

4. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (Magic Kingdom):

As noted on the Walt Disney World website: “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for refurbishment from June 7 through June 12. The webpage does say to check back for updates, but we’re hopeful the refurbishment timeframe will remain on track and Big Thunder will only remain closed for the week.

Dine at The Wave this June while you still can!

Take note that in July The Wave… of American Flavors at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will be unavailable for the summer as Disney refurbishes the space in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort. Reservations will be available through July 15. If you’re looking to enjoy this restaurant as is one last time, June is a great month to do it! The Disney rumor mill and speculations are hard at work with this refurbishment. Much of the speculations suggest Disney could make this a character dining restaurant with characters from The Incredibles. While we would absolutely love that, there is no confirmation from Disney.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are currently listed as being free from refurbishment closures (yay!). Keep in mind, refurbishments are listed to help us plan but it is not set in stone. Disney has been known to extend refurbishments, shorten them, and even close attractions and/or shops suddenly for refurb.
