Disney Announces New Magic Kingdom Fireworks Show, Enchantment, for 50th Anniversary

Disney has just announced a brand new nighttime spectacular. The show will debut on October 1 for the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. The show will be called Enchantment.

Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.

The addition of projections on Main Street have been expected since 2019.

Haunted Mansion Stretching Room Returns at Magic Kingdom

When Walt Disney World parks began phased reopenings in July 2020, it was easy to see a few things were missing, including pre-shows. Disney was hard at work ensuring physical distancing wherever possible which meant gathering a bunch of people in a room was a no-go. While we recently saw the return of Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, another popular pre-show has made a come back. That’s right, Haunted Mansions’ Stretching Room has returned at Magic Kingdom!

Previously, the Stretching Room was used as a portion of the queue as shown in the picture below. The doors were left open and guests would simply walk right through the Stretching Room to load their doom buggy.

Now, the Stretching Room and Ghost Host narration has returned! “Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination? And consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows and no doors which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course, there’s always my way.”

Not too long ago, Disney said they are reportedly considering removing the hanging scene from Haunted Mansion which would mean a change for the Stretching Room. With this reopening we’re not sure if/when that may still be considered.

Magic Kingdom & EPCOT Fireworks Showtimes Revealed for July

Fireworks are returning to Walt Disney World! Kicking off July 1, we’re thrilled to once again see Magic Kingdom’s “Happily Ever After” and EPCOT’s “EPCOT Forever” light up the sky. While you’re making plans to visit “the most magical place on earth” next month, Disney has revealed the fireworks showtimes.

Magic Kingdom:

Magic Kingdom’s current posted park hours for July 1 – 10 are 9:00am to 11:00pm with Park Hopping open between 2pm and 11pm. July 11 – 31 park hours are 9:00am to 10:00pm with Park Hopping open between 2pm and 10pm. “Happily Ever After” will be held nightly at 9:15pm. No showtimes have been posted for August as of right now.

EPCOT:

EPCOT’s current posted park hours for July 1 – 31 are 11:00am to 10:00pm with Park Hopping open between 2pm to 10pm. “EPCOT Forever” will be held nightly at 10:00pm. We suspect July will be an especially busy month for EPCOT with not only the launch of fireworks, but the start of the EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival kicking off on July 15. No fireworks showtimes have been posted for August as of right now.

We can’t help but wonder when EPCOT’s new fireworks spectacular, “Harmonious“, will replace the temporary “EPCOT Forever”. We’re also curious to see how EPCOT Forever will look with all the Harmonious barges stationed in the World Showcase lagoon.
