Disney Reveals Character Cavalcade Times

Via DisDining.com

As Walt Disney World continues to navigate trying to get back to “normal” after their phased reopening, we’re seeing more and more experiences returning. From attraction experiences (Haunted Mansion Stretching Room), to entertainment (fireworks are back!), and restaurants (Casey’s Corner returns) plus more… we’re slowly seeing the magic unfold back to pre-COVID status. While we know not everything will return as it was, we do have our list of top things we REALLY hope Disney brings back. One of those are the parades! Interestingly enough, the current Magic Kingdom Character Cavalcades now have showtimes listed on the My Disney Experience App.

When Walt Disney World first began their phased reopening, they cancelled all parades due to the issue of guests crowding in one location. They did however offer Character Cavalcades where guests could still see select Disney characters on a parade float that would pass by at unexpected times. Disney purposely didn’t list the times for these cavalcades to keep people from gathering together in anticipation of seeing characters. With social distancing guidelines a thing of the past, guests gathering together now for fireworks for example is expected. With that in mind, Disney is now listing the Character Cavalcades on the My Disney Experience App so you can plan to be near the parade route in advance to catch a glance at Disney characters.

The message posted on the Walt Disney World website still reads: “From special cavalcades down the Magic Kingdom park parade route and friends sailing the waterways of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park to processions along World Showcase promenade at EPCOT and motorcades on Hollywood Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, each area will come to life throughout the day. You never know when a party of your pals may come by, so be prepared for plenty of surprises!”

However, guests can now know when to expect Magic Kingdom’s Character Cavalcades as listed on the My Disney Experience App shown in the screenshots below:

Currently, the app is only showing Magic Kingdom’s cavalcades. Since Disney has decided to share times for these character cavalcades, could that mean parades (such as the Festival of Fantasy Parade) make a return soon? If Disney is listing the cavalcade times and crowds are gathering anyway, wouldn’t that mean the return of parades could be possible?

Behind The Scenes Look at “Coco” Scene at Mickey’s PhilharMagic

We previously shared the exciting news that Disney and Pixar’s “Coco” is joining the fun over at Mickey’s PhilharMagic, as the classic attraction is getting a new “Coco” scene! Today, July 17, is a big day at Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris as the new scene is now available to experience with Mickey’s PhilharMagic attraction. While guests at Walt Disney World will have to wait until closer to the 50th Anniversary celebration, Disney is giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the designing of the new Coco scene.

As shared by Disney: “Beginning today, guests of the Disneyland Resort and Disneyland Paris can don their opera glasses at the fan-favorite attraction and experience the addition of the musical number “Un Poco Loco,” from Disney and Pixar’s “Coco.” One of the original composers of “Coco” – Germaine Franco – produced a score unique to “Mickey’s PhilharMagic.”

Disney Releases Updated Commercial for 50th Anniversary

There is no doubt Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary is going to be an amazing time to be in the parks and at the resorts. We’re ready to celebrate with Disney beginning October 1 for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”. Disney knows how to party, so we’re sure the 18-month long event will be one to remember! Now that fireworks have returned to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, Disney has updated their 50th Anniversary commercial to reflect a little more glow in the skies.

As shared by Disney: “Get ready for a celebration 50 years in the making. On October 1, the magic is calling everyone to The World’s Most Magical Celebration – the 50th Anniversary at Walt Disney World Resort. Because when you celebrate with us, nothing could be more magical.”

Here’s the old commercial first, with the new commercial below it to compare the two:

Notice the fireworks difference between the two? We previously shared the news that a new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment,” will help kick off the 50th anniversary festivities when it debuts Oct. 1 at Magic Kingdom Park. Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.
