Police Report Filed After Instagram Influencer Sat on Disney Guest

There are a lot of exciting things happening at Walt Disney World Resort right now. The Most Magical Place on Earth is celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and there is a lot to experience. Guests can ride new attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, eat a ton of incredible, limited-time food, and buy some great merchandise. Disney fans across the world waited with a ton of anticipation for the celebration to begin on October 1, 2021, and have been heading to Florida in droves in the months since.

While many Guests are acutely aware of the fact that they are not the only people visiting Walt Disney World, some people do not seem to realize that. While things bumping into others while on your phone or accidentally hitting someone with your bag while trying to squeeze by are bound to happen to a lot of Guests, they are accidents. Apologies are said and people move on. However, one Guest recently had such an unbelievable experience with another Guest that the police were called, and battery charges could have been filed.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office recently released a police report that was filed on October 2, 2021 — one day after Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration began. According to the report, a woman and her family were sitting along Main Street, U.S.A. as they waited for the special 50th “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade” to begin. A woman then walked right in front of the woman and sat on her feet, so she could be in the front and have the best view. The woman moved her feet out from under the “influencer”.

According to the report, the influencer sat on the sidewalk with her feet out in the street and was asked multiple times by Magic Kingdom Cast Members to move her feet. She ignored them, and then the woman told her that Cast Members were telling the influencer to move her feet. The woman then claimed that the influencer screamed at her that she knew Cast Members were speaking to her, boasted that she had 20,000 followers, and tapped the woman’s sunglasses.

A manager then came over and told the influencer that she needed to move, as the other woman and her family had been there first. That only further angered the unknown influencer. Eventually, the woman and her family got up and left, but noticed the influencer following her. They went to Magic Kingdom security, who called the police and told them there was a battery issue at the Park.

By the time police arrived, the woman said that she did not want to press charges and the unknown influencer was gone.

Beloved Disney Attraction Runs Again After Nearly 5 Years

We have good news for fans of the iconic Disney World Railroad!

With so many rides and attractions at Walt Disney World, it’s hard to pick a favorite. From the thrilling Space Mountain, classic Splash Mountain and iconic “it’s a small world” Disney World is truly a magical place filled with fan-favorite attractions.

The Walt Disney World Railroad, one of the most-beloved attractions has been closed for almost five years after shutting down in December of 2018, however, with no confirmed date on its return. Recently, one Guest spotted the Walt Disney World Railroad being tested after this multi-year long hiatus.

See the full post on Twitter from @DisneyfiedAsh below:

While no dates have been revealed yet by Disney on the official reopening of this beloved attraction, with it being tested, we can only hope it’s soon! Many have assumed that the train would be shut down until TRON Lightcycle/Run opened due to construction, however that is not confirmed. If you’re just aching to get your Disney train fix you can always climb aboard Bug Thunder Mountain Railroad, they say it’s the wildest ride in the wilderness!

“Bruno” song from Disney’s “Encanto” sung by the animatronics in a classic Disney Parks attraction

Encanto’s soundtrack is so popular, even the Country Bears know the words!

Love it or hate it, Disney’s newest animated feature, Encanto, continues to get rave reviews from critics and audiences alike, and for all the love shown for the story of Encanto, if we’re honest, it’s the music that’s probably one of our most favorite parts of the film–and we’re in good company, as evidenced by the songs from the film’s soundtrack climbing the charts, including Billboard’s and Spotify’s.

And just last week, Encanto‘s trademark song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” broke a record held since 1994 and 1995, beating out “Let It Go” from Disney’s 2013 blockbuster, Frozen, which had, at one time, climbed to the No. 5 spot on Billboard’s charts. The Bruno ballad reached the No. 4 spot, tying with Sir Elton John’s “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from 1994 Disney’s The Lion King and “Colors of the Wind” sung by Vanessa Williams from Disney’s 1995 Pocahontas.

Soundtracks from Disney’s animated films have often climbed the charts, and fans have often been wowed by new songs from the films when they’re released. The popularity of Encanto‘s music, however, seems to have some massive staying power, as some of the songs, like “Surface Pressure” and “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” continue to make their rounds on social media–and sometimes with creative twists to them.

One of those “creative twists” popped up on our Twitter feed, and we had to share, as it features the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” performed by the animatronic bears from Disney’s Country Bear Jamboree attraction. Take a look!

Scott Gustin with Nextstar Media calls it “The best thing he’s ever watched.” The Country Bear Jamboree bears do a great job of covering the uber-popular song from the Encanto soundtrack, don’t you think?

Teddi Berra descends from the ceiling on a swing as she “covers” the part of the song sung by Isabela from Encanto–pretty fitting!

All the bears from the Country Bear Jamboree play a part in “singing” the popular Bruno ballad–Big Al sings about growing a gut, Henry sings about losing his hair (and of course, it’s a raccoon that’s on his head now), Trixie sings about her fish dying (and has the tissue in her paw so she can catch her tears), and even Melvin, Buff, and Max, the mounted animals on the wall, sing along with the whole Jamboree company.

Controversial Names Removed From Disney World Attraction

Disney World has removed names from one of its most iconic and long-standing attractions in an effort to remain culturally sensitive and rid the attraction of the dated term.

Last week, Disney World Cast Members removed wording that referred to “Injun Joe” at the Tom Sawyer Island attraction at Magic Kingdom. There was originally a sign that labeled a cavernous area of the attraction as “Injun Joe’s Cavern,” as well as a raft with the name “Injun Joe” on it. The plank on the raft on which Injun Joe’s name was painted was simply painted over, meaning that both references were removed from the attraction.

Disney also painted over the planks on the rafts that had the names “Becky Thatcher” and “Tom Sawyer” on them.

In the story of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by author Mark Twain, it is Injun Joe who is the villain–a half-Native American who robs graves, is guilty of murder, and commits other crimes throughout the story.

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer': Plot Summary

According to a post at ComicBook.com, “Twain wrote the character as a fundamentally evil and irredeemable character, with multiple characters in the book claiming that his evil nature was due to his Native American heritage.”

Not only is the character portrayed as villainous, but his acts are often attributed to the fact that he is a Native American. The name “Injun Joe” also includes a term considered derogatory by many for Native American men and women.

Last year, Disney made a pledge to be more diverse and more inclusive in its efforts as an organization. The Jungle Cruise attraction at Adventureland was also updated in an effort to remove potentially harmful and hurtful stereotypes from the attraction, and The Splash Mountain attraction at Frontierland is being completely reimagined for the same reasons. The current attraction is based on the Disney film from 1946, Song of the South.

Song of the South': Fast Facts About Disney's Most Controversial Movie | IndieWire

According to Disney, “Song of the South is a 1946 American musical film released by RKO Radio Pictures, based on the Uncle Remus stories by Joel Chandler Harris. The live actors provide a sentimental frame story, in which Uncle Remus relates the folk tales of the adventures of Br’er Rabbit and his friends. These anthropomorphic animal characters appear in animation. The hit song from the film was “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah”, which won the 1947 Academy Award for Best Song and is frequently used as part of Disney’s montage themes, and which has become widely used in popular culture.”

But Song of the South has received major backlash over the years from those who say the film harbors racist themes and is full of stereotypes against African Americans. For this reason, producers at Disney decided it would not be added to the streaming line-up on Disney+, and it is almost impossible to find it in digital form anywhere in the United States. Because the Splash Mountain attraction was inspired by the film, it was decided that the entire attraction would be reimagined and take its inspiration from the delightful story of Princess Tiana from Disney’s The Princess and the Frog.

Guests position chairs in the middle of Main Street U.S.A. so they can enjoy the fireworks while seated

There’s nothing like a nighttime spectacular at a Disney Park.

At the end of a long (but never long enough), exciting day at Disney, the fabulous nighttime spectacular serves as not only the cherry on top but the whipped cream and the cherry on top of the day!

Whether it’s Disney World’s newest nighttime spectacular, Disney Enchantment, or one of the previous spectaculars, like Wishes, Happily Ever After, or one of the spectaculars from way back, like SpectroMagic or the Main Street Electrical Parade, or any of Disneyland’s nighttime past or present spectacular offerings like Mickey’s Mix Magic or the previous Main Street Electrical Parade, it’s evident that Disney never cuts corners when it comes to entertainment at the end of a Disney day in the parks.

Main Street Electrical Parade

And we all know the drill when we arrive to enjoy a nighttime spectacular–partly because we know the rules at Disney, and partly because it’s just common sense. Oh–and ALSO because we are being respectful of others. But occasionally, a Guest or two will break the rules. Maybe it’s their first time at the parks. Maybe they just weren’t thinking.

In this online video posted by @the_hamilyfamily, two Guests are preparing to see the nighttime spectacular at Disneyland. It is dark, of course, but there’s enough light to see that everyone who’s gathered for the nighttime event is standing up. However, these Guests have decided to move chairs from an eatery nearby and sit down in the chairs, presumably so they could be more comfortable during the show.

We get it; it’d be nice to sit during the event, but it would only be appropriate and fair (and feasible) if other Guests were granted the same allowances, and as you see in the video, no one else is seated–not even on the ground.

In the video, the couple is seated, preparing to see the nighttime spectacular, when a Cast Member approaches them to tell them that, unfortunately, the chairs couldn’t be used, calling the event a “standing show only.” The Guests stand up, and the Cast Member moves the chairs away without incident or argument.
