Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Finally Reopening

Soon guests will once again be able to receive magical makeovers at the very popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique  at both Magic Kingdom Park and at Disneyland.

Magic makeovers are back!

I’m pleased to share that earlier today, a magical proclamation was found in Fantasyland announcing a very special return. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will soon welcome young guests once again for royal head-to-toe transformations at both Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland park at Disneyland Resort on August 25.

Our cast members – Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices – will transform guests ages 3 to 12 into some of their favorite Disney characters with hairstyling, makeup, costumes and accessories. In addition, the reopening ushers in even more options to choose from, including a new hair accessory especially designed for textured hair and new costumes featuring some of Disney’s newest heroes and heroines coming later this year.

Located in the heart of Magic Kingdom and Disneyland park, the reopening of these two iconic locations will join the slate of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques aboard Disney Cruise Line, including the newest addition at sea on the Disney Wish. And stay tuned for more details about Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney Springs, which will reopen at a later date.

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has a long legacy of making dreams come true for children around the world. My mom and I frequently reminisce about the day my kid sister had her royal makeover. It was truly a magical moment for my whole family, and I just can’t wait to share that experience with other families when Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique returns to Disney World and Disneyland.

Guests may begin making reservations for these magical transformations in early August only in the My Disney Experience app and Disneyland App, or at DisneyWorld.com and Disneyland.com. Valid admission and park reservations are required for entry into Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland park.

Guest Sprays Cheez-Whiz While Riding Big Thunder Mountain

One thing that Walt Disney always prided himself on was keeping Disneyland Park clean. When Disneyland first opened, Walt watched how far Guests would carry their trash before throwing it on the ground. That is how he determined how far apart each trash can in the theme park should be from the next. Walt wanted to not only give people a fun park, but also a beautiful one. He also expected Guests to appreciate the environment they were in and respect it by keeping it clean.

Unfortunately, some people’s manners seem to have gotten worse over the years, and they treat Disney as their own, personal dumping ground. Some Guests also think it’s funny to deface the Parks simply so they can get a laugh. That happened recently at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests riding Big Thunder Mountain Railroad were shocked and disgusted when a young man actually sprayed a can of Cheez-Whiz off of the side of the train car.

The video was posted on TikTok by user Disney Stuff! (@_disney._stuff_) and you can watch it below.

Many users were shocked at the blatant disrespect that the Guest showed to Disney and its property. One user, Sabrina, claimed that she was on the same train as the Guest and Cast Members were waiting for him when the train came to a stop. According to Sabrina, the Cast Members only took the can away from the Guest. Many commented that the Cast Members should have gone a step further and escorted the Guest out of the Park, or even ban him from returning.

It shouldn’t need to be said, but this type of behavior is unacceptable at Disney Parks and is against the rules. The Walt Disney World Resort website states the following under its Rules and Regulations:

Please show common courtesy to fellow Guests and our Cast Members by not using profanity or engaging in unsafe, illegal, disruptive or offensive behavior, jumping lines or saving places in lines for others. For your safety and the safety of others, please refrain from running except in designated areas.

If you are caught breaking Disney’s rules, they have the right to ask you to leave the Park. If your behavior is particularly egregious, Disney may even decide to ban you from all the Parks for a certain amount of time. Guests have gone viral for behavior that has gotten them banned for the day, a year, or even for life — which is rare, but not unheard of.

July 4th Fireworks Shows Returning to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT

July 4 fireworks are returning to Magic Kingdom and EPCOT this year after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.

The Walt Disney World calendar is now showing that the 4th of July firework shows will return this summer. At Magic Kingdom, “Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” has showtimes at 9:20 pm on July 3 and July 4. Meanwhile, at EPCOT, the park will celebrate with a special ending following the nighttime spectacular “Harmonious.” On July 4 , the calendar lists “Harmonious” showing at 9:00 pm and the July 4th ending will follow immediately. Unlike Magic Kingdom, this special show will only be shown on July 4.

Disney World Cast Member arrested at Magic Kingdom in underage sex sting

A Cast Member employee at the Walt Disney World Resort is facing felony charges after sending explicit messages to an undercover detective who was posing as a 15-year-old girl.

The Disney employee, Zachary Hudson, 30, told the undercover detective posing as a teenager that he was texting her while he was at work as a bus driver at Disney World on June 4 and June 5, according to an affidavit from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Transcripts of the explicit messages sent by Hudson to the “teen” (undercover detective) reveal the content of those messages, including Hudson’s offer to meet to engage in sexual activity. He also sent her an explicit photo of himself.

Orange County deputies arrested the Cast Member at Magic Kingdom while he was working on June 6. He was charged with third-degree felonies: transmitting material harmful to a minor and using a two-way communication device to commit a felony.

Zachary Hudson is one of 12 people arrested in an undercover investigation by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office that served as a child predator sting operation.

According to records, Hudson and the detective posing as a teenager met on a social media website, and even after she told him she was a minor, he continued exchanging messages with her.

One of the text messages he sent to her read, “I could honestly go to jail for this, but I’ll risk it for you.”

Further messages between the two indicate that Hudson told the undercover detective that he worked at Disney World before he suggested that they meet at her house “in secret and private,” according to the affidavit.

He also told her that they would “need to be cautious” and referenced the difference in their ages. Afterward, he sent her a graphic photo as well.

Disney Does Not Confirm Splash Retheme Date, Releases Statement

Back in 2020, Disney announced that it would be retheming one of its most iconic attractions — Splash Mountain. The new attraction will be themed after the hit Disney film, The Princess and the Frog. The retheme is going to take place at both Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort in California. People expected Disney Imagineers to quickly jump on the massive project and complete it as soon as possible, but years have passed, and no work has started at either Resort. However, we may have just learned when the ride retheme will be completed.

Anika Noni Rose voiced Princess Tiana in the original film and revealed during a recent interview that the Princess and the Frog Splash Mountain retheme will be complete, and the ride will be open by 2024. A lot of Princess and the Frog fans were thrilled to hear that the project was still happening, but just as many people were upset, as they love the original ride and don’t want to see it changed.

While Rose seemed confident in what she said, Disney would not confirm that the retheme would be complete in 2024. After Rose revealed the completion date in her interview, Disney released the following statement:

“We have already shared how we are bringing Tiana’s story to life at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. While timing has not been determined, we look forward to sharing more details during Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans in July.”

At this time, we don’t have a ton of details about the ride, we do know that it will take place after Tiana and Prince Naveen’s final kiss. Disney Parks Blog did share the few details we know, saying:

Tiana is an ambitious and resilient woman, who proves that success comes through a connection to her family and community and has learned to never lose sight of what’s really important – giving back to others through great food and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.

As seen in this latest rendering of the attraction, the story will take place after the final kiss as Naveen and Louis join Tiana on her latest adventure, hosting a one-of-a-kind Mardi Gras celebration where everyone is welcome – during which some original music inspired by songs from the film will bring guests into the story. Tiana is leading the way and fans will be able to encounter old friends and make new ones along the way as well!

The theme park attraction retheme has been a very controversial one that has brewed a massive debate between Disney purists and those Disney fans who like change. Those who are excited about the change say that when something is realized to be problematic — something Splash Mountain has been accused of — then you change it and acknowledge that changes are needed.

On the other side, Disney purists believe that classic attractions are classic for a reason and not everything needs to change simply because society is changing. Splash Mountain is based on the film Song of the South — which has been deemed racially insensitive. Many acknowledge that the film is insensitive, but feel that the ride is not.
