Every Guest dreams of pulling the sword from the stone in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World. The Sword in the Stone monument is located near Prince Charming’s Regal Carousel at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. There is also another Sword in the Stone monument located in Disneyland Park, near King Arthur’s Carousel.
TikToker jojocrichton has been visiting Magic Kingdom nearly every day in an attempt to become the King of Fantasyland. He has become an internet sensation as Guests from all over know who he is now — even Disney Characters!
Disney fan and TikTok user, jojocrichton, has been posting videos to social media showing his attempts at trying to become the King of Fantasyland. In one attempt, he even tried talking nice to the sword, hoping a little flattery would help (spoiler alert, it didn’t):
In another video, JoJo tried to channel his love for Star Wars and use the force:
JoJo has really made a name for himself, as now even Disney Characters know who he is. Recently, JoJo was roasted by the step sisters, Anastasia and Drizella, from Disney’s Cinderella (1950).
In a video posted to TikTok, JoJo can be seen dressed as Merlin to, once again, try and pull the sword from the stone. He was walking around the Park when he ran into Anastasia and Drizella. “Do you have magic?” one of the sisters asked to which JoJo replied “I do, and I know you’re looking for a suitor.”
Well, Drizella did not hold back when she responded, “Well, we’re kind of looking for someone who can actually pull the sword from the stone,” completely roasting JoJo!

Unfortunately, he has not been deemed worthy (yet), but if you want to follow along on his journey, you can find his TikTok here.
One of Walt Disney World Resort’s popular attractions will close this month.
While at the Walt Disney Resort in Orlando, Central Florida, Guests can experience a multitude of different types of experiences. From Disney Enchantment taking over Main Street, U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom, the classic Spaceship Earth in the newly-transformed Future World area in EPCOT or Harmonious at World Showcase, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond! At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there are many shows, rides, and themed meets at on Disney property.
That being said, with so many offerings spread across the four theme parks, as well as water parks Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and the (currently closed) Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, and Disney Springs, attractions and shows are often subject to closure and refurbishment at the Disney Resort.
Recent information shows that the Liberty Square Riverboat in Magic Kingdom Park is scheduled for closure in the coming weeks on August 22, and will reopen on September 2. The official Walt Disney World website states no time available between these dates.
The closure of this offering is seemingly a routine refurbishment, as last year the Liberty Square Riverboat became unavailable for Guests around the same time.
No clear indication has been made by Walt Disney World or Disney Parks over what is being done to the Riverboat, which again seemingly hints at a yearly routine maintenance review. Other notable closures this month include the continued downtime of the Walt Disney World Railroad, another beloved family-friendly Magic Kingdom offering that transports Guests around the 50-year-old Disney Park.
For those missing out on the Liberty Square Riverboat, neighboring attractions like Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad can be experienced. Guests may want to purchase Disney Genie+ or a la carte Lightning Lane passes in order to ride attractions quicker; when one large-capacity attraction is closed, other rides can naturally become busier.
Steven Amos spent his August 6 birthday riding Walt Disney World’s famed Pirates of the Caribbean attraction for an entire Park day as a part of a marathon fundraising challenge. Amos vowed to ride the attraction once for every hundred dollars raised before donating all profits to Give Kids The World, a nonprofit for whom he serves as the Vice President of Advancement.
According to their mission, Give Kids The World (GKTW) “exists only to fulfill the wishes of critically ill children and their families from around the world to experience a memorable, joyful, cost-free visit to Central Florida’s attractions, and to enjoy the magic of Give Kids The World Village for as long as there is a need.”
GKTW partners with more than 250 Wish Granting Organizations globally to identify and serve children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
The nonprofit was founded by Florida hotelier Henri Landwirth in 1986, who learned of a young girl diagnosed with leukemia who passed away from her illness before her dream of visiting the Orlando area theme parks was realized.
Landwirth was inspired to start GKTW so that going forward, a child in need would never again run out of time before their life’s one wish is granted. After three years of arranging for families to stay in area hotels for their wish vacations, Landwirth once again enlisted the hospitality and theme park industry’s help to create the GKTW Village.
According to their website, the Village is an “84-acre, nonprofit resort complete with 166 Villa accommodations, entertainment attractions, whimsical venues, and fun specifically designed for children with critical illnesses.” To date, it has served more than 160 thousand families across 75 different countries.
Enlisting the help of corporations such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, and many more, as well as countless volunteers and other generous individuals, GKTW is able to serve over 8,000 families annually. Individual stories are shared on their YouTube channel so that supporters can see the difference their help makes for families in need.
Amos began his journey with GKTW in 2019 after spending ten years working for the Walt Disney World Resort in various capacities. This year he used his birthday to bridge his past with his present in an all-day fundraising event that served to “raise awareness for the GKTW mission in new and creative ways,” a passion he lists in his company bio.
On his fundraising page, he wrote that the challenge would be the longest he’d ever done as he planned to ride the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction repeatedly from the moment Magic Kingdom opened until its 11 pm closing. With 100% of the profits going directly towards GKTW, he set goals tied to incentives that unlocked additional mini challenges in an effort to inspire donors.
The total fundraising goal was set at $6,000, or “the cost of a wish,” and the mini goals were listed as follows:
UNLOCKING FUNDRAISING GOALS
$100 – For each $100 raised, I will ride Pirates of the Caribbean
$3,000 – Chug some of that sweet Beverly drink!
$6,000 (cost of a wish) – I will continue my quest of punishing my stomach and only eat turkey legs for the entire day
$10,000 – I will dress as a pirate as much as Magic Kingdom will allow me for the day
$11,101 – If we beat last year’s fundraising goal, I will allow someone that donated to choose face paint for me to wear all day long
Over the course of 13 hours, Amos rode the attraction a total of 28 times and raised over $11,000, posting frequent updates to his Twitter account.
He used his photo editing skills in his first post, updating the Magic Kingdom signage with his name and age to honor the occasion.
He updated again, presumably when the $6,000 mark was hit, sharing a photo of himself and a turkey leg.
He continued to show off his photo editing skills with a series of posts picturing Amos participating in various parts of the attraction.
And finally, his last post contained a heartfelt thank you and a fundraising results recap.
At $11,413 raised, this years event surpassed last years total by several hundred dollars.

The first Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is just around the corner, and soon guests will be able to make reservations for two different Firework Dessert Parties at Magic Kingdom.
One of the most anticipated offerings of the Halloween Party is the return of “Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular,” a Halloween-themed fireworks show that debuted in 2018. The fireworks have not been seen since 2019, which is the last time the party was available. Guests line up early to watch the 9:15 pm parade and then stay there for the fireworks at 10:15 pm. Many guests prefer to have guaranteed viewing for the fireworks, and if that is you, then you may want to consider the Dessert Parties.
Both options include an assortment of desserts such as chocolate-dipped strawberries, seasonal fruits, cheeses, and other “ghoulish goodies” and an assortment of beverages. Beer and wine are available for guests over 21.
The difference between the parties (in addition to price) is where you view the fireworks. With the Plaza Garden option, you’ll be taken to the Plaza Garden, where you’ll stand to view the fireworks. With the Tomorrowland Terrace option, you’ll be able to view the fireworks while seated on the restaurant’s terrace.
Pricing for the Dessert Parties
Party with Plaza Garden Viewing
Price: $99 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 10 and older; $59 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 3 to 9
Party at Tomorrowland Terrace
Price: $115 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 10 and older; $69 (including tax and gratuity) for Guests ages 3 to 9
It’s important to note that a valid admission ticket for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on the same night is required and is not included in the price of the dessert party. Since the Halloween Party prices range from $109-$199, you’ll be spending a lot of money in one evening if you add a dessert party. While it may not be for everyone, anyone who wants a guaranteed viewing location for the fireworks may consider it money well spent.
Reservations
Advance reservations will open online beginning August 9, 2022. We highly recommend making reservations if you want to attend one of these parties.
