Heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios soon? You’ll want to check out the new menu items coming to the park.

From a Disney Cast Member;

I hope you’re ready for some foodie news that’ll rock your taste buds’ world because I’ve got some exciting updates that are coming soon to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. From sweets to the savory, there are plenty of new items joining the treats roster at the park, and they are not to be missed.

Your foodie adventure is about to begin. Let’s get into this edition of What’s Cooking, shall we?

Whether you’ve been to Sci-Fi Dine-in Theater Restaurant before or have always wanted to drive into this retro classic, the new menu premiering June 2 is not to be missed. This “theater” is debuting some super tasty offerings including appetizers, entrées, and desserts. Start off your meal with the Sci-fi Smoked Wings tossed in a porter barbecue sauce with a house-made pineapple and poppy seed coleslaw or the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, a plant-based blend of spinach, artichoke, red peppers, cauliflower, cashew cheese, and oat milk served with house-made chips.

You can also enjoy the Black Garlic Caesar Salad, a petite romaine, grilled hearts of artichoke, chopped Applewood smoked bacon, shaved parmesan covered with house-made black garlic Caesar dressing and served with a tasty, toasted crostini. Or the Grilled Chicken Citrus Saladthat perfectly combines romaine lettuce, spinach, and arugula with rainbow tomatoes, candied pecans, cranberries, and feta cheese topped with a house-made citrus vinaigrette and grilled marinated chicken.

If you’re interested in some burgers, this new menu has got you covered. The Feature Film Burger – Surf & Turf is a unique twist on a classic with a signature blend of beef and house-made seasoning served on a brioche bun and topped with a shrimp and crab cake, pepper jack cheese, chipotle hollandaise sauce, grilled onions, heirloom tomato, arugula, and house-made vinaigrette. A previous “featured” item, the Pork on Pork Burger has been awarded a permanent spot on the new menu. This dish includes a grilled house-made pork patty topped with roasted pork belly, white sharp cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, cabbage slaw, and a house-made Carolina mustard sauce.

The grand finale of the meal, dessert, is also getting a revamp. The Red Planet is a delicious white chocolate cheesecake with blueberry compote on a graham cracker tart with a matcha sponge and gold candied pecans. How yummy does that sound? For a more tropical option, you have the Out-of-this-World Sci-Fi Swirl. This dish features a pineapple mousse with passion fruit cosmic swirl and a spiced lime spaceship garnished with space dust and blood orange coulis.

You better get the whole family together because it’s time for a good ole’ fashioned family meal at 50’s Prime Time Café. Step back in time with some of their new plates that bring TV dinner to a different level that feels just like home, beginning June 7. If you love a little kick to an adored dish, then you simply must try the Jalapeño Popper Deviled Eggs. On the other hand, if spice isn’t your thing, don’t worry, because there’s another classic starter for you – the Creamy Tomato Soup – yes, please! After you’ve enjoyed these tasty plates, get ready for a return that is here to make your taste buds very happy. Grandpa Jean’s Chicken Pot Pie has made its official return to 50’s Prime Time Café. This has a traditional pastry crust filled with chicken, potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, corn, and peas.

I hope you save room for dessert after these eats, because there are a few sweet treats making an appearance at this retro joint. The Pineapple Upside Down Cake features yellow cake soaked in pineapple juice topped with caramelized pineapples and maraschino cherries and garnished with whip cream and caramel sauce – wow! Also joining the menu is the Lemon Meringue Pie, a lemon curd in a flaky pie shell topped with a toasted meringue and garnished with a raspberry sauce. The sweets don’t stop there because there is also the Grasshopper Bar! This dessert is a mint white chocolate mousse with chocolate chips on a chocolate chip cookie and is topped with whip cream and chocolate chips. It is a mint chocolate chip lover’s dream.

And rounding out these exciting additions is the Stained Glass Dessert. This treat, made for the little ones, sees a whipped pineapple fluff studded with cubes of strawberry, lime, and orange gelatin to look like stained glass. How adorable?

Few things are more fitting in the summer than ice cream, and not many flavors are more Florida than Key lime. But do you want to know what’s even better? Combining both ice cream and Key lime into a milkshake, and that’s exactly what you’ll find at Hollywood Scoops. Starting tomorrow, they’ll be serving up the new Key Lime Milkshake, a Key lime vanilla cream shake topped with lemon lime doughnut garnished with a sweet graham cracker crumb.

Take a trip to another world when you step into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge where you’ll discover two tasty beverages at Kat Saka’s Kettle. The Cold Brew Black Caf features Joffrey’s Cold Brew, sweet cream cheese, and cocoa puffs and is a delicious non-alcoholic treat! For a more adult version, the Spiked Cold Brew Black Caf has an extra ingredient – Godiva liqueur. Talk about galactic goodies!

Changes Announced For Disney’s Fantasmic! Return

If you are looking forward to the return of Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we have some exciting news for you!

Due to the ongoing pandemic, Fantasmic! was cut from the line of shows at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, much like many of the other shows. Now, we have seen a ton of entertainment return such as Beauty and the Beast, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration, Disney Movie Magic, Wonderful World of Animation, and more. And, this is just some of the options available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — all the other Parks have even more options for Guests to enjoy!

Disney Parks Blog confirmed the changes coming to Fantasmic!, writing:

As Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, announced earlier today, “Fantasmic!” will also be returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2022. When this incredible spectacular reopens next year, it will incorporate an all-new sequence featuring live performers, stunts, special effects and more!

Though they did not confirm which films would be represented in the new sequences, after looking at the new poster, it seemed this new sequence would involve characters and scenes from Disney’s Moana (2016), Frozen (2013), and Aladdin (1992). Now, it seems Disney has confirmed some changes, noting:

The iconic “Fantasmic!” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will make its much-anticipated return later in 2022 with a new show sequence featuring Disney characters – Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Moana – in heroic moments, as well as new technical enhancements. Guests won’t want to miss this spectacle set on a canvas of water where the forces of good and evil battle it out in Mickey’s dream. The extravagant, open-air nighttime musical boasts more than 50 live performers, massive sets, stunning effects, rousing music and dazzling pyrotechnics.

From this, we know that the return of the show is still in the works and there is not yet a certain date that has been announced for its return, but the show will certainly include Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Moana, as well as new technical elements throughout which is very exciting.

Fantasmic! will return to Disneyland Park on May 28.

Four New Photo Ops Launching May the 4th at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

To celebrate May the Fourth, Disney PhotoPass Service is launching four new photo opportunities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Check them out below. We know not everyone can blast off to Batuu for May the Fourth, so these experiences will continue to be available after the celebration ends.

Ready to begin the next bounty hunt? Select Disney PhotoPass Image Scanners (known on our planet as photographers) in Batuu might offer clients a holopuck that can reveal the details of your next bounty. View this Magic Shot in a Disney account to see all of the intel.

For younglings still perfecting their skills, this is the droid they’re looking for! This training droid Magic Shot will have clients deflecting blaster bolts like a Jedi Master. Clients might not see the droid while taking this photo, but as Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, “Your eyes can deceive you. Don’t trust them.”

Select Image Scanners in Batuu can offer clients a lightsaber to use in the photo – including a replica of Mace Windu’s purple lightsaber that’s available after sunset starting May the Fourth across from Oga’s Cantina.

On the outer reaches of Batuu near Droid Depot, clients might see Boba Fett’s ship overhead. It’s true… from a certain point of view.

In addition to these new opportunities, don’t miss out on capturing all of Disney PhotoPass Service’s Star Wars-themed photos at Disney’s Hollywood Studios:

  • Encounter familiar friends or enjoy special enhancements around Batuu with more Magic Shots
  • Capture a Super Zoom Magic Shot video with a camera far, far away
  • Be AT-AT the center of the galaxy with a Tiny World Magic Shot (available near Star Tours – The Adventures Continue)
  • Interact with Grogu using a Disney PhotoPass Lens, available exclusively in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge through the My Disney Experience app with the purchase of Disney Genie+ service*

Unearth Two New Disney PhotoPass Offerings

The Disney PhotoPass team is gearing up for Halfway to Halloween with the launch of two creepy cool things at Walt Disney World Resort.

First stop: The 5th Dimension. Get your subdued smiles and gloomy glares ready. There’s a storm brewing near the Hollywood Tower Hotel!

The newest Disney PhotoPass Lens launches today, and it’ll make clients feel like they’ve stepped back in time to Halloween night, 1939. Tip: When using this Lens, go far enough down Sunset Boulevard to hear the shrieks of those onboard the attraction. It really adds to the mood.

This Lens is available to use only on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios through the My Disney Experience app with the purchase of Disney Genie+ service.*

Starting today, all foolish mortals materializing onboard The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom Park will notice that their photo will have a new look. As they’re known to do, the grim grinning ghosts are coming out to socialize – in the dead space of Guests’ photos! And if clients ride this attraction multiple times, they’ll notice that each time they ride, a different ghost might follow them home.

Remember, there’s no photo preview wall at the exit of this attraction where Guests can link their photo, so there are two options to have it automatically linked to a Disney account while riding:

  • Use a mobile device. Enable Bluetooth® for the My Disney Experience app before riding, ensure you’ve logged into the app sometime earlier that day, and keep the device out of low power mode. Then just put the device in a pocket or bag while enjoying the ride.**
  • Wear a MagicBand that’s linked to a Disney account.

This update at the Haunted Mansion is the first in our ongoing efforts to enhance onboard photos at some of your favorite Walt Disney World Resort attractions.

Next time clients head off to Magic Kingdom Park or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they can enjoy these cadaverous capture opportunities!

*With the purchase of Disney Genie+ service, Walt Disney World guests can access many Disney PhotoPass Lenses in the My Disney Experience app as soon as they enter the park. Select Disney PhotoPass Lenses are accessible only within designated areas of Walt Disney World Resort. Other Disney PhotoPass Lenses will remain accessible in the My Disney Experience app until 5:59 a.m. on the 45th day after the day on which the Disney Genie+ service was used; certain states and localities are excluded. Many Disney PhotoPass Lenses use technology that detects the coordinates of key points on a guest’s face and/or hands and may be used only by guests 18 years of age and older who have consented to use of this technology. Therefore, guests unable to provide such consent, as well as guests under 18 years of age, will have fewer lenses available to use. To access Disney PhotoPass Lenses, an eligible mobile device with the My Disney Experience app with access to the device’s camera and location is required. A purchase of Disney Genie+ service at Walt Disney World Resort does not include downloads of a guest’s Disney PhotoPass photos or videos that were captured by photographers and onboard attractions. Use of Disney PhotoPass Lenses is subject to the Terms and Conditions. Subject to restrictions and change without notice.

**Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere. If you’re under 18, get your parents’ permission first.

McDonald’s Closes Down Entire Disney Park

Via InsideTheMagic.net

McDonald’s and Disney are two of the most recognizable brands in the world, so when the two collide, you can bet that magic will happen.

This was the case for numerous McDonald’s restaurant franchisees on April 6, 2022. The lucky group enjoyed a private party at Walt Disney World Resort’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park after normal park operations stopped early for the event.

Franchisee Katie C. shared her fabulous experience on Facebook, writing:

Had the best night ever at Hollywood Studios! It was closed to the public, so we got to ride every single ride with virtually no wait times and get all the food and drinks we wanted!

Katie shared with Inside the Magic that she and her family, who are McDonald’s owner-operators from Kentucky and Ohio, are “so happy to be part of a brand that values their franchises, suppliers, and company personnel enough to rent out the entire Park for an evening at the Most Magical Place on Earth!”

As you can see from Katie’s photos, crowds were sparse compared to what they have been lately when the Park is open to the public. This gave the McDonald’s party-goers ample time to enjoy all of the rides that Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge have to offer.
