The Milk Stand In Galaxy’s Edge To Now Serve Breakfast

With so many guests rope dropping Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there’s a dire need for more breakfast options in the park, and starting March 1st, the trusty old Milk Stand is stepping up its game to offer even more items for hungry travelers to Batuu.

Of course, you’ll be able to order the classic Green and Blue Milks, as well as the Bubo Wamba Family Farms Light-Up Souvenir Sipper that’s usually sold here, plus new breakfast items like a Green Milk Bread Pudding, Saka Farm Egg Bite, and a Wamba Yogurt Cup. (Alcoholic versions of both milks are also available in the morning… because sometimes, that’s exactly what you need after a morning of attempting to secure a Rise of the Resistance boarding group.)

Disney Is Surveying Guest About Boarding Group Solutions To Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance

Walt Disney World has distributed a survey to guests who received boarding groups to the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction, according to Twitter user @DrewDisneyDude. The survey asks a variety of questions, but one is particularly worth noting: Disney asks guests their preferred way to wait for their turn on the ride.

The question asks, “which of the following would have been your preferred choice in order to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance?” Guests can choose from these options:

  • The virtual queue system currently used
  • A combination of limited FastPass+ tickets and waiting in a standby line (similar to the current FastPass+ system)
  • Standby lines only

Another question addressed issues with the ride. Guests are asked about any challenges they experienced with “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.” These were the options:

There’s nothing worse than being asked your opinion without any followup from whomever asked, so we hope these surveys lead to improvements to the ride. While no system is perfect, there’s room for improvement when Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance boarding groups are gone within minutes and the attraction experiences consistent downtime.

Quarterback Drew Brees Experiences Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge

Drew Brees, a star quarterback in the NFL, visited Walt Disney World’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this past weekend! Drew’s exploration of this new Hollywood Studios land was filled with intergalactic excitement – including a ride on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance of course! Check out the details and video below from DisneyParksBlog:

Today, star quarterback Drew Brees visited Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World Resort and experienced Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which he called “one of the greatest rides I have ever been on.”

“I really felt like I was on a journey,” he said, after enjoying the groundbreaking attraction with his family.

Brees made sure to stop on the planet of Batuu at Disney’s Hollywood Studios while in Florida for the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday, January 26 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Not only did he and his family experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, they also had the opportunity to build their own lightsabers at Savi’s Workshop and to design their own droids at the Droid Depot.

“Our experience here at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been phenomenal,” Brees said. Check out all the excitement of Brees’s visit in the video above!

No Plan For Roaming Droids in Galaxy’s Edge

So far on Batuu, we’ve seen build-your-own droids, Coke Droids, and plenty of droids on stand-by for photo ops, but one glaring omission still remains months after the land’s opening on both coasts: the roaming, interactive droids that were promised when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was first announced.

For the first few months of the land’s opening, heavy crowds were cited as the reason to not roll out these autonomous droid characters, but in a recent piece by the Orange County Register asking when the elusive droids would be debuting at Galaxy’s Edge, it appears Imagineering has no plans to use autonomous character technology in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Disney has tested these autonomous droids several times at Disneyland Park and even at the last D23 Expo. The most famous of these is Jake, or J4-K3, which has more sensors than a self-driving car, according to Walt Disney Imagineering research and development manager Ashley Girdich.

In the Register piece, Imagineering went on to explain that the Jake project was merely exploratory and independent from anything that was being developed for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and no decisions have been made on where or when the droid will be used again.
