Two more statues have been revealed for the “Disney Fab 50” around Walt Disney World! Lumiere and Cogsworth will be coming to the Magic Kingdom.
Susan Egan, the original Belle from “The Beauty and the Beast” on Broadway, introduced the new golden statues. The statues are part of an upcoming set of 50 golden characters found around the parks at Walt Disney World for the resort’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
The 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World is October 1, 2021, and celebrations will continue for 18 months.
We are just over 70 days away from “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at Walt Disney World! This 50th Anniversary celebration is going to be one to remember. Kicking off on October 1, and lasting a full 18-months, we simply can’t wait for all the excitement! We’ve already shared that a new nighttime spectacular is coming to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT’s Harmonious nighttime spectacular and new Ratatouille attraction will debut, and the list of festivities just keeps coming! Disney is slowly revealing the exciting characters that will make up the “Disney Fab 50” sculptures… and we now have a few more to add to the list!
During the magical celebration we’ll be able to hunt through all four Walt Disney World theme parks to find 50 golden character sculptures. As previously shared, the number one “Disney Fab 50” announced is of course, Mickey Mouse!
Now, we’ve learned Goofy is the second announced “Disney Fab 50” character, and will be located at Magic Kingdom! As shared by Disney, “Gawrsh! Bill Farmer, voice of Goofy, has revealed that Goofy is part of the “Disney Fab 50 Character Collection” that you’ll soon find across the four @WaltDisneyWorld theme parks during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” starting Oct 1 #DisneyWorld50”
So, we have Mickey and Goofy… who’s next? Best buds, Timon and Pumbaa! Disney shares, “Don Hahn, producer of Walt @DisneyAnimation Studios’ The Lion King, has revealed that Timon & Pumbaa are part of the “Disney Fab 50 Character Collection” that you’ll soon find across the four @WaltDisneyWorld theme parks during “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” starting Oct 1 #DisneyWorld50”. You can be on the look for Timon and Pumbaa to be located at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

We previously shared the exciting news that as part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort, Disney would be introducing 50 fabulous Disney characters that will be cast in gold and displayed across the parks. Now, Disney shares more details on the “Disney Fab 50” series, including a special reveal of the first sculpture – Mickey Mouse, of course! Plus, check out the exciting details about the Disney Fab 50 scavenger hunt below!
As shared by Disney: “During the magical celebration, which begins on Oct. 1, you’ll be able to find these golden character sculptures throughout all four of the Resort’s parks. And leading up to their appearances, friends from around the Disney company will be announcing which characters you can expect to see – starting today with Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse.”
The Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse sculptures are also being dedicated to Disney cast members of the past, present and future. After all, our cast – along with Mickey and Minnie- are truly considered the heart of the upcoming anniversary celebration.
