Epilepsy Awareness Event To Be Held @ WDW

The third annual “Purple Day for Epilepsy Awareness Around the World” is being held on March 1, 2020 at Walt Disney World. This event will feature an expo at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and a special lighting of Spaceship Earth at Epcot.

Epilepsy is a condition that causes seizures, and affects an estimated 50 million people worldwide. This event will be the first epilepsy awareness event held at Disney since the passing of Cameron Boyce. Boyce starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie The Descendents, and passed away in 2019 from epileptic complications. Boyce was 20 years old at the time of his death, and his passing was certainly felt within the Disney community.

The Anita Kaufmann Foundation aims to educate the public to not fear this condition. This event is an opportunity to raise epilepsy awareness, and will include appearances by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Registration is $15 per adult, and children are free. Participants may register for exciting prizes, including a dream vacation giveaway! For those who attend the Spaceship Earth lighting that evening, there will be an opportunity for an additional $250 prize.

Don’t miss this opportunity to raise awareness for a great cause!
