Another Menu Item Name Change at Star Wars Dining Locations

The saga of the Galaxy’s Edge menu changes continues… at this point, you could even say it’s an epic space trilogy. Earlier this month, it was reported the menu items at Docking Bay 7 in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge had been stripped of their previous Star Wars-themed names. Many speculated that this was to assist guests who did not understand the immersive menu item names.

Since the change, online menus have changed back and forth from the old names to the new, straightforward names. Local Batuuans told us that new menus were on the way to the space cargo commissary, and it appears that’s because yet another name change has occurred. It seems they’ve found a happy medium with the new names, melding both on-planet and off-planet monikers for menu items.

All along, the Breakfast menu had been our main clue as to what the finalized menus would look like. Mustafarian Lava Roll has been renamed to the Mustafarian Cinnamon Roll, while Tugg’s Morning Oats is renamed as Tugg’s Overnight Oats, and the Bright Suns Morning is now the Bright Suns Breakfast Platter. These names blend the original, Star Wars tie-in names with more straightforward food names.

Moving on to entrees, the Shaak Roast is now the Batuuan Beef Pot Roast. You have the Galaxy’s Edge tie-in, plus the name of what the food item actually is. It’s the best of both planets. Same goes for Smoked Kaadu Pork Ribs and Endorian Fried Chicken Tip Yip, which is literally a mashup of both names. It’s interesting to note that Yobshrimp Noodle Salad was renamed to Surabat Shrimp & Noodle Salad, as they couldn’t quite keep it as “Yobshrimp Shrimp & Noodle Salad”.

The Felucian Garden Spread now includes Kefta and Hummus in the menu item title, and the newest vegan kids meal option that was previously just named “Meat” Marinara + Pasta was renamed the Peka Pasta Rings Youngling Meal.

The only items that have remained unchanged are the desserts.

Stay tuned for any more changes to take place at A Walk With The Mouse.

Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo Menu Update

In what quickly became one of the most controversial Disney menu changes in recent history, earlier this week, we reported that the names of the menu items at Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo had been changed to remove any original Star Wars-theming.

Since its opening, the menu at the land’s main quick-service eatery included names like Smoked Kaadu Ribs and Fried Endorian Tip-Yip, adding to the theme of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Overnight, all of those names were switched over to plainly state what each menu item was. For example, Fried Endorian Tip-Yip was simplified to “Fried Chicken”, the Shaak Roast became simply a “Beef Pot Roast”, and the Yobshrimp Noodle Salad was now a “Shrimp & Noodle Salad.” Even the Felucian Garden Spread was renamed to just a “Hummus Garden Spread”.

Now, it seems like the plot has thickened as the Star Wars-themed names have returned to online menus and digital menu boards alike.

If you’ll recall from the changes, items such as the Mustafarian Lava Roll were previously renamed to the Mustafarian Cinnamon Roll, while Tugg’s Morning Oats was renamed as Tugg’s Overnight Oats, and the Bright Suns Morning was renamed the Bright Suns Breakfast Platter. All have been returned to their original, themed names.

The desserts are the only items that have remained unchanged throughout all of the menu item name changes.

Despite menu descriptions and photos, it appears Disney wanted to make ordering easier for guests by removing the themed menu item names. This did come, however, at the cost of the in-depth immersion that was originally a part of the land’s mission. As of publishing time, the themed menu item names remain listed as-is for Docking Bay 7 at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge.

Themed Names on Menu Out At Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo In Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge

Disney has changed the names of the menu items at Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo to remove the Star Wars-themed names in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Previously, names like Smoked Kaadu Ribs and Fried Endorian Tip-Yip graced the menu, adding to the theme of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

All of the main entrees, including kids meals, now have straightforward, non-themed names:

For example, the Shaak Roast is now simply a “Beef Pot Roast”, the Yobshrimp Noodle Salad is now a “Shrimp & Noodle Salad”, and the Felucian Garden Spread is now just the Hummus Garden Spread.

As with the adult menu, the Fried Endorian Tip-Yip is now listed as Fried Chicken under the Kids’ Meals section. The Taste of Takodana is now labeled “Veggie Dippers”.

The desserts and breakfast menu have retained their original, themed names, but they have simplified them somewhat, with Tugg’s Morning Oats now listed as Tugg’s Overnight Oats, the Bright Suns Morning now listed as the Bright Suns Breakfast Platter, and the Mustafarian Lava Roll now described as the Mustafarian Cinnamon Roll.

Here’s a look at the online menus:

Despite menu descriptions and photos, it appears Disney wanted to make ordering easier for guests by removing the themed menu item names. This does come, of course, at the sacrifice of the in-depth immersion that was originally a part of the land’s mission.
