Disney Officially Announces Return of Beloved Show

Nighttime shows are a massive part of the magic experienced throughout Disney Parks. We are thrilled that one beloved show is coming back in 2024.

Guests traveling to California can enjoy two Disney Parks: Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Both parks include unique attractions, shows, and magic.

Disneyland Park is the original Disney Park. Guests will find well-themed lands such as Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Tomorrowland. Beloved rides like Peter Pan’s Flight, Jungle Cruise, the Haunted Mansion, and “it’s a small world” are all found throughout Disneyland Park.

Over at Disney’s California Adventure Park, guests can enjoy themed lands based on beloved movies. Cars Land, Avengers Campus, Pixar Pier, and more. While visiting this unique Disney Park, guests enjoy top attractions like the Incredicoaster and Radiator Springs Racers.

Disneyland combines the history of Disney with the excitement and thrills of new technology throughout these two parks.

The nighttime shows are a considerable part of the magic at these two Disney Parks.

In Disney California Adventure, World of Color brings Disney and Pixar stories to guests through projections and water features. This is a 22-minute show that takes place on select evenings around Paradise Gardens Park.

Over at Disneyland Park, guests can experience a fireworks show on select evenings. The show changes throughout the year, focusing on different holidays during the show. This nighttime show includes fireworks, a fantastic soundtrack, and even unique appearances from some beloved Disney characters.

There is one nighttime spectacular that has been missed at Disneyland Park.

Fantasmic!, a renowned nighttime show, was shut down on April 22, 2023, following a significant issue with the animatronic dragon. During the show, the dragon burst into flames during the finale.

The show takes place on the Rivers of America in Disneyland Park. In the past, the show included numerous Disney characters, projections from many Disney movies, and fireworks.

Since closing, guests have anxiously been waiting for the return of this fantastic show. We now have a date to mark on the calendar.

Fantasmic Disneyland

Disney announced today that Fantasmic! will return to Disneyland on May 24, 2024. Previously, Disney stated that the show would return in “spring 2024,” keeping the May opening date on track.

No additional information was provided about show times or updates that will be seen when the show returns in May.

Previously, Disneyland said that when the show returned, it “won’t include the dragon future, but it will feature new special effects and a thrilling new battle scene between Sorcerer Mickey and Maleficent.”

Although we anxiously await more information regarding what surprises Disney has in store for the updated show, we are thrilled that we can now circle a date on the calendar for its return.

This is a fantastic nighttime spectacular that has been greatly missed at Disneyland. We can’t wait for it to return this spring.

Mother and Daughter Reportedly Assaulted by Homeless Man Outside Disney Park

Panic has begun to spread after a recent terrifying incident was reported.

For the millions of fans who travel to Disneyland Resort in Southern California every year, this is truly a nightmare. For decades, both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort have been known as wholesome, family-friendly venues where Guests of every age can be entertained without fear. Part of the reason why people choose Disney as their vacation location is because of the sense of security you have within the Resorts. For the most part, Disney does an excellent job of preventing crime on their property.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t stop horrific incidents from happening just outside the Park’s gates. A recent allegation from one Disney Guest and her family member has left many fans feeling more frightened than ever to visit the Disney Parks.

In a shocking incident that sent waves of panic through the Disney community, a homeless man allegedly assaulted a mother and her child just outside of Disneyland Resort. The news of this distressing event quickly spread like wildfire, leaving visitors and locals alike in a state of shock and concern. The incident serves as a stark reminder that even the most magical places can be subjected to senseless acts of violence just outside.

According to the mother, the terrifying incident occurred just outside the Disney Resort grounds on Harbor Boulevard. This area is often frequented by Guests of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Families and individuals flock to Disneyland Resort expecting a carefree and whimsical experience, but unfortunately, this incident momentarily shattered that illusion for many. Public safety and security are paramount, and this incident highlights the need for heightened vigilance and ongoing efforts to maintain a safe environment.

The incident took place on October 25, 2023. According to the mother, she and her daughter were walking towards the Disneyland Park entrance when a man, whom they assumed to be homeless, assaulted them by throwing coffee at them. The mother shared,

“Assaulted on Harbor Blvd

Today my daughter and I were walking down Harbor Blvd towards the parks, when a man who I assume is homeless threw a full cup of coffee on us outside the McDonald’s by the Fairfield Inn. Thankfully this is all he did, and walked away while looking back at us. We did not interact with him in any way – it was totally at random. We suffered no physical injuries (thankfully it wasn’t hot) but it was definitely upsetting.

I live in a city with a significant homeless population and have never had an issue. I realize this was a totally random thing, and it certainly doesn’t reflect on Disney. But is the area around the parks typically pretty safe? I’ve never felt uncomfortable before, but I also haven’t been back in several years.”

Immediate chaos ensued as the news spread, fans scrambling to comprehend the gravity of the situation. On the Disneyland Reddit page, fans shared their condolences with the mother and child. User r/ashecatcher805 says,

“I’m sorry that happened to you, sounds shocking and unnerving. That said, I do think that was a random unfortunate thing. The area around the parks is well populated, relatively clean for a city, well lit, and heavily patrolled by police and security. I’ve never heard of it being unsafe, and I stay in hotels around that area a couple times a year when visiting.”

The incident serves as a poignant reminder that homelessness is a complex issue that transcends geographic boundaries and can impact even the most iconic destinations. While the motives behind the alleged assault remain unclear, it is crucial to approach this incident with empathy and without generalizing or stigmatizing the entire homeless community. It is important to remember that the actions of one individual do not define an entire group.

This event is also a good reminder for Guests to never get too comfortable on and near Disney Resort property. Unfortunately, dangerous activity can happen anywhere, and it is crucial to remain as vigilant as possible to protect you and your loved ones from a criminal threat. No information or confirmation of the incident has come from Disney at this time. It is also unclear if the Anaheim Police Department or Disneyland security were informed of this crime.

New Adventureland Treehouse Opening in Disneyland Nov. 10, 2023

Calling all explorers! We know every has been eagerly waiting to once again climb into the treetops high above Adventureland in Disneyland Park, so we’re excited to share that Adventureland Treehouse inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson will open on Nov. 10, 2023, at Disneyland Resort. Keep reading for new storyline details from our friends at Walt Disney Imagineering and a new piece of artwork coming to the treehouse!

As previously announced, Adventureland Treehouse will pay tribute to the original treehouse Walt Disney and his Imagineers built in 1962 in honor of the movie “Swiss Family Robinson.” With the new Adventureland Treehouse, we’re excited to introduce a fresh story for the next generation of park goers to experience and enjoy.

Among the tree’s massive boughs, find the mother’s music den, the sons’ nature room and the daughter’s astronomer’s loft. Firm on the ground will be a kitchen and dining room, plus the father’s art studio that will display hand-drawn sketches and paintings of each room.

As the story goes, the family fashioned an oasis among the trees inspired by nature and using objects found around them. Here, they can collaborate together while also pursuing their own individual skills, talents, passions and interests.

Proud of what they’ve accomplished and eager to share their way of life with visitors from around the world, the family has rolled out the metaphorical welcome mat, inviting guests to climb up the stone stairway and explore their treetop abode.

Adjacent to the stairwell is the home’s iconic waterwheel, which is powered by a small brook that babbles nearby. The family created a pulley system to deliver water from the stream high up into the tree, generating the energy needed to activate many of their gadgets and inventions.

Nestled in the highest part of the home, find the daughter’s room, as she has illustrated it here in her own abstract style. An admirer of celestial bodies and their magnitudes, motions and magic, her room provides a clear view of the beautiful night sky. It is here where she spends her time tracking stars, planets and comets with her many telescopes, no doubt making new discoveries which she logs in her notebooks, sketches and artistic recreations.

In the mother’s room, find musical instruments including a harp, lute, guitar and organ, which she plays to fill the home with cheerful melodies. The twin brothers have packed their room with an impossibly large collection of plants and animals, all living in harmony with one another. Filled with gadgets, appliances and devices of his own invention, the father’s studio reflects the whole family’s affinity for exploring the unknown and designing the unimaginable.

We look forward to welcoming visitors back to this walk-through attraction in the trees very soon!

Both Theme Park reservations and valid admission for the same Park on the same day are required for Park entry.
