When Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure reopened after historic 412-day closures, there were a number of experiences that were unavailable. Most of the attractions were open, but due to COVID regulations, there were certain activities that were deemed unsafe. Guests had to maintain a safe social distance, which meant that character interactions were a no-no, and rides were limited to just a few Guests at a time. Shows were also non-existent for a while, as performers could not wear masks, so they just didn’t perform.
One of the attractions that remained closed, even as the Parks opened up more, was the Red Car Trolley in Disney California Adventure. The Red Car Trolley took Guests down Buena Vista Street and through Hollywood Land, dropping them off at several locations, and ending its trip right outside Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!. The trolley then made its way back to Buena Vista Street. It was a really fun way to get around DCA.
Finally, in mid-May 2022, Disneyland took to its official TikTok page to share that the Red Car Trolley was finally coming back! The original post did not share when, simply saying that the attraction was returning in the summer. Well, now we have another exciting update — the Red Car Trolley will return on July 17! That’s just two days away! Disney shared the news on its Twitter page:
Trolleys run continuously between the following locations:
Buena Vista Street near the Disney California Adventure Park Main Entrance
Carthay Circle across from Carthay Circle Restaurant
Hollywood Boulevard near the Disney Animation building
Sunset Boulevard near the Hyperion Theater
Rolling Right Out of History
The Red Car Trolleys are modeled after the Pacific Electric Railway trolleys that crisscrossed the Los Angeles area from 1887 until 1961, with more than 1,000 miles of active track.
If you are planning on visiting Disneyland Resort, it is important to remember that both a theme park ticket and a Park reservation are required to get into both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. If you live in Southern California, Disneyland currently has a great summer ticket offer available.
Disney employs hundreds of thousands of people around the globe — from the employees who work at its studio lots in places like Burbank, California, to the cast and crew that work on its dozens of films and television shows, to the tens of thousands of Cast Members who work at its theme park. While Disney does its best to employ people who truly emphasize the Disney magic, sometimes people slip through the cracks. That appears to have happened recently when they employed someone who has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women.
Recently, a photo went viral of pro wrestler Joseph Meehan — professionally known as Joey Ryan — working at Disney’s World Famous Jungle Cruise at Disneyland Park. The account that snapped the photo — The Ringside Roster — tagged Disney and said that Ryan was fired from his job with Impact Wrestling because he had been accused of sexual assault.
The photo was picked up by TheLos Angeles Times, which reached out to Disney to ask about Ryan’s employment. Per The L.A. Times:
Meehan has worked as a professional wrestler since 2000 and was one of the founding members of the Pro Wrestling Geurilla. He has denied all of the sexual assault allegations brought against him and has filed at least seven libel and slander lawsuits against his accusers. However, The L.A. Times found that he had either dropped the suits or not pursued them, with one being dismissed by a judge.
Soon guests will once again be able to receive magical makeovers at the very popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at both Magic Kingdom Park and at Disneyland.
Magic makeovers are back!
I’m pleased to share that earlier today, a magical proclamation was found in Fantasyland announcing a very special return. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique will soon welcome young guests once again for royal head-to-toe transformations at both Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland park at Disneyland Resort on August 25.
Our cast members – Fairy Godmother’s Apprentices – will transform guests ages 3 to 12 into some of their favorite Disney characters with hairstyling, makeup, costumes and accessories. In addition, the reopening ushers in even more options to choose from, including a new hair accessory especially designed for textured hair and new costumes featuring some of Disney’s newest heroes and heroines coming later this year.
Located in the heart of Magic Kingdom and Disneyland park, the reopening of these two iconic locations will join the slate of Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques aboard Disney Cruise Line, including the newest addition at sea on the Disney Wish. And stay tuned for more details about Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique locations at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa and Disney Springs, which will reopen at a later date.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique has a long legacy of making dreams come true for children around the world. My mom and I frequently reminisce about the day my kid sister had her royal makeover. It was truly a magical moment for my whole family, and I just can’t wait to share that experience with other families when Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique returns to Disney World and Disneyland.
Guests may begin making reservations for these magical transformations in early August only in the My Disney Experience app and Disneyland App, or at DisneyWorld.com and Disneyland.com. Valid admission and park reservations are required for entry into Magic Kingdom Park and Disneyland park.
