Disney Announces Star Tours Updates in 2024

Via DisneyLists.com

This past weekend many announcements came out of Star Wars Celebration 2023. One of those announcements was that at Disney Parks around the world, Star Tours is set to get updates next year.

From a Disney Cast Member;

Bright Suns! I’m writing to you from London, where we just wrapped our Walt Disney Imagineering panel at Star Wars Celebration 2023. I was thrilled to join Imagineers Ann Morrow Johnson and Asa Kalama, as well as Matt Martin from Lucasfilm as we talked about how Star Wars comes to life at Disney parks. This was the first Celebration in Europe since 2016, so I really enjoyed spending the weekend here reconnecting with Star Wars and Disney fans from this part of the world (and beyond).

Today we made several exciting announcements related to Star Wars and Disney parks, so I wanted to make sure you heard all the news … beginning with the attraction that started it all for us in this galaxy far, far away …

In 2024, we’re going to add more stories and characters to Star Tours at three of our destinations around the world – Disneyland park in California, Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and Disneyland Paris in France. Since it debuted at Disneyland in 1987 as the first Star Wars attraction in a Disney park, Star Tours has traveled to new places as this galaxy of stories expanded. We’re looking forward to continuing that tradition next year with all new adventures … but I can’t reveal just where we’re going yet – or those we may meet along the way – because … well … some surprises are best experienced as part of the upcoming Star Wars content also announced this weekend. Here’s hoping C-3PO’s piloting skills have improved!

And speaking of Starspeeder pilots, be sure to check out the new playlist from DJ R3X we just released, featuring more of his favorite tracks you may hear when you visit Oga’s Cantina on Batuu. Turns out R3X may just be a better DJ than pilot … but don’t tell him I said that.

We also announced a new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser playlist will launch next month on streaming platforms to celebrate May the 4th. This soundtrack includes songs from galactic superstar Gaya, who performs aboard the Halcyon starcruiser as part of that amazing, fully immersive experience.

We’re also working on a special 12-inch vinyl pressing of Gaya’s music, so be on the lookout for that.

We had such a great time on the panel and meeting fans this weekend. We work hard to create all of these experiences for you because … we’re Star Wars fans, too! We look forward to the places we’ll go and the stories we can explore together next. So hopefully I’ll see you somewhere out there on the hyperspace routes.

Horrifying Video Shows Woman Dragging Child on Ground With Dog Leash

Fans visiting Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, a couple of weeks ago were met with a truly shocking sight. What they witnessed was a classic case of intense parenting at the most magical place on earth. A viral video showing the event has gone viral on TikTok. The public has begun to weigh in on their thoughts on the mother’s unique parenting style.

Every year, families from all over the world head to Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort to spend some quality time with their children. Visiting a Disney Park is acceptable for all ages, but many parents want to head there when their children are young and at their most Disney-obsessed. Getting to see the joy of a child seeing their favorite characters in real life is a truly special experience.

While it is so fun to travel to Disney with young children, it is also incredibly exhausting. Spending a long day in the sun standing and walking around is tiring for anyone, especially for a toddler. It is so easy to get frustrated with a child who is moving slowly and having a meltdown in the Parks.

That is exactly what happened a couple of weeks ago at Disneyland Park.

Mom drags child

When TikTok user @Casey.Callihan20 was spending a day in Disneyland Park, she couldn’t believe what she saw. The situation was so absurd she had to take her phone out to film. She posted a video showing a woman dragging a child on the ground behind her on the ground. He is wearing a child leash, which she is dragging him by.

Some people in the comments were disturbed by the video. Others, however, found it incredibly comical. One user comments, “When you got kids you know you know lol.”

Mickey’s Toontown reopened at Disneyland Park on Sunday, March 19, after a lengthy redesign to make the Disney Park land more accessible and entertaining to all Guests. The land boasts three immersive attractions: Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, Chip ‘N’ Dale’s GADGETCoaster, and the newest addition, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, inside the el CapiTOON Theater. It’s centered around CenTOONial Park, a relaxing grassy area shaded by Walt Disney’s dreaming tree.

The reopened Disneyland Toontown also welcomes back beloved character meet-and-greets with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Pluto, Goofy, and more. And for the first time, Pete the cat will interact with Guests!

During the reopening day, TikToker @salamandurr_ shared an adorable video of Pluto spinning on a playground toy to the delight of little ones around him while adults waited eagerly for exclusive popcorn buckets:

But unfortunately, the magical moment was quickly halted after the camera cut. After another Disneyland Park Guest commented on their excitement about the experience, the TikToker shared some sad news.

“Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll see it again,” the Guest wrote. “The manager came by and quickly told the handler to stop and get him up.”

Disney Parks fans weren’t happy. “I hope y’all boo’ed,” said @mr.serr.

“Well it made everyone’s day and that’s what counts at the end of the day!” @rockin_disney wrote.

“Party pooper,” joked @puppetcity69420.

Of course, Disney Cast Members never want to ruin the fun for no reason. Most likely, Pluto playing on the interactive equipment was a safety issue or threatened the integrity of his costume.

Disneyland Influencer Allegedly Cut Line, Got Upset With Guest For Saying “Hi”

Just days after we reported a confrontation between three vloggers at Disneyland Park, another Guest alleges a bad experience with a Disneyland Resort Influencer.

TikToker Randy James (@recylcingrandy) approached a mobile-order pickup window to get his parking validated after dining in the Downtown Disney District. After waiting a few minutes, he was speaking with a Disney Cast Member when an influencer cut in front of him and asked to pick up her mobile order:

“Some girl walks up and just inserts herself like, ‘Hey, I’m here for my mobile pickup,’” James recalled. “As if we were not, you know, talking to her and getting stuff done.”

Nevertheless, James kept a positive attitude and decided to compliment the influencer on her platform Converse. She thanked him flatly, and he realized she was filming the entire interaction.

“When she did, she panned up and got the Cast Member’s face in the shot. And I was like, okay, that’s a little weird,” James said. “I usually ask people permission to take video of them, or I end up cutting them out somehow, but I don’t know if that’s the same case for her… I thought that was a little weird and kind of rude and tacky.”

Later, James saw the influencer again. This time, she was panning her camera to film around the restaurant. James waved because he didn’t want to look “frumpy and gross” on camera.

“She said hi back. But then I noticed that she redid the video,  probably because I said hi in the video, and she did not want that,” James explained. “So I’m like, okay, okay. She’s one of those people.”

James ended with a reminder to be kind: “Just know that she was kind of rude and kind of inconsiderate of other people. So, yeah, try not to be like that, guys… If you are that person that filmed all that interaction and posted that video, just know that you could be nicer to people. Kindness goes a very long way, sweetheart.”

This isn’t the first negative interaction involving influencers at Downtown Disney. Last year, a Starbucks employee was fired after calling out an influencer for being rude to busy employees while waiting for a mobile order pickup.
