A “Tangled”-themed ride in the works at Disneyland Paris

Blueprints that detail plans for a brand-new Disney Parks attraction have reportedly been leaked, and fans are loving it–especially fans of Walt Disney Animation’s 50th full-length feature film.

Disney’s Tangled is the studios’ 50th animated feature project, and was released at the box office in November 2010. According to Disney Movies, the film is based on a story by the Brothers Grimm about a girl named Rapunzel, and her superpower is somewhat unconventional:

When the kingdom’s most wanted, and most charming, bandit Flynn Rider hides in a mysterious tower, the last thing he expects to find is Rapunzel, a spirited teen with an unlikely superpower: 70 feet of magical golden hair! Together, the unlikely duo sets off on a fantastic journey filled with surprising heroes, laughter and suspense.

The Disney film had a budget of $260 million, and to date, it has grossed more than $592 million. To put that into comparison, Disney’s The Princess and the Frog has grossed $271 million to date, and Disney’s Moana has grossed $645 million.

The popularity of the animated film ultimately gave birth to a merch line that included Rapunzel dolls, complete with long, blonde hair, as well as a spin-off series on Disney Channel titled, Tangled: The Series.

And now it seems that the popularity of Walt Disney Animation’s 2010 feature-length film has inspired an attraction at Disneyland Paris.

In 2018, then-CEO of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger announced a 2 billion-euro plan that would include the development of 3 separate areas around a lake inside the Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris. From what is known at the time of this post, those areas included Avengers Campus, which opened to Guests on July 20, 2022, and work on the new Frozen-themed area of the park.

Now our attention turns toward the third area of the park, first forecast by Bob Iger in 2018. OutsideEars.com “exclusively” shared blueprints for a new Tangled-themed attraction that would be the “keystone of the expansion” that is “gradually being revealed.”

“We exclusively invite you to discover the first plans and visuals of an attraction based on the world of Rapunzel, which will [be located] between the current Walt Disney Studios and the future lake where the future night show of the park will be played,” reads a post online from OutsideEars.

The post goes on to detail where the Tangled attraction will be located:

“The new attraction will take place in a triangle formed by this famous main alley and Toy Story Playland, just in front of the restaurant panorama, which Disneyland Paris presented a few months ago.”

The all-new Tangled-themed attraction will reportedly be a “spinning” attraction, like the Mad Tea Party at Magic Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort and will be manufactured by Italian ride-builder Zamperla. The attraction’s storyline will pick up during the lanterns scene from the animated film, and instead of tea cups, the ride will feature wooden boats that “spin around in the middle of hundreds of lanterns, all in a covered building but open on all of its different facades.”

Plans for the new attraction have not been officially unveiled by Disney Parks at the time of this post, but (if and) when the official announcement is made, we will bring you the news immediately.

Severe Flooding Sweeps Disney Resort

While the Disney Parks and Resorts are famous for their family-friendly attractions, rides, and entertainment, this doesn’t mean that the Disney Parks don’t also have some thrilling experiences as well. With rides like Tower of Terror at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Expedition Everest and Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and even Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Guests can get their fix of thrilling and intense attractions.

One of the more classic thrill rides in Disney would have to be Space Mountain. This is a historic coaster for not just the Disney Parks but the theme park community as a whole. Since its first opening in Orlando, Florida, at the Magic Kingdom, the ride has made its way into five Disney Resorts, including Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney, and Disneyland Paris.

Currently, Space Mountain at Disneyland Paris has been rethemed to Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain. In this version, much like the version at Disneyland, Guests will experience the thrills and chills of Space Mountain while traversing through an exciting Star Wars journey.

Unfortunately, Space Mountain was forced to close recently due to the bad weather at the Resort. This was shown in a tweet from Disneyland Paris Works (@DisneylandWorks), which you can see below:

The Resort’s new Avengers Campus was also taken over by water, as you can see in a tweet from ED92 (@ED92):

Hopefully, brighter days are coming, and the fun can resume!

Teen Involved In Choking Incident at Disneyland Paris

A healthcare worker vacationing at one Disney Resort jumped into action when she noticed another Guest choking on the neighboring table.

Disneyland Paris is one of The Walt Disney Company’s premier Resorts. Alongside other Disney Parks like the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Tokyo Disney Resort, Shanghai Disney Resort, and Hong Kong Disneyland, Disneyland Paris welcomes millions of Guests all year round.

In spite of any Disney Park being a hub for magical memories, and a place to relax amid firework shows like Disney Illuminations at Sleeping Beauty Castle, parades like Dream… and Shine Brighter!, and sights like the Gardens of Wonder, one Guest found herself jumping into action after a teenager began to choke on a nacho at popular Disney Village dining location, Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon.

According to the Blackpool Gazette, Disney Park Guest and nurse practitioner, Amy Friese-Greene, was partaking in a meal at Billy Bob’s while on a four-day break at the Disney Resort in France. They report:

Suddenly one of the diners at a nearby table began to choke and it became clear that the teenager was in trouble. Mum-of-two and grandmother Amy, who has held various roles across the nursing profession and has been in her current job for seven years, rushed across to help.

The nurse practitioner, who currently works at Blackpool’s Bloomfield Medical Centre, spoke about the incident at Disneyland Paris:

“It’s really frightening when someone starts to choke, for the person themselves and the people with them […] I could see she was in trouble, her face had reddened and she couldn’t clear whatever it was that was causing her to choke […]  I just stuck to the standard procedure – I made sure she was leaning forward and gave her five blows between their shoulder blades with what you call the heel of the hand.”

After following her training, her quick response proved fruitful:

“Then a piece of nacho shot out onto the plate. It wasn’t a large piece but it was quite wide and it had lodged in her throat and wouldn’t go down. It was such a relief to all of us when it came out!”

Health scares and incidents are unfortunately commonplace at theme park Resorts, and it is people like Friese-Greene and Cast Members that keep Guests safe while visiting these Parks. The family of the teen thanked Friese-Greene for her potentially life-saving actions before the nurse finished out her own meal with her family.

Disney Finally Reveals New Name of Rethemed Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster At Disneyland Paris

After months of speculation, Disneyland Paris has finally confirmed the name of its long-awaited Marvel retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.

Disneyland Paris is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary bringing Guests buckets of Disney magic across Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, and Disney Village. Despite new shows like Disney D-light — the drone pre-show to the Disney Illuminations fireworks — and character cavalcade such as Dream… and Shine Brighter! in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, perhaps the most enticing aspect of the three-decade celebration is the opening of Disney Parks’ second Avengers Campus.

The only Avengers Campus at any Disney Park is the one found in Disney California Adventure at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Southern California. The arrival of the Marvel-themed area at the former Euro Disneyland Park is just one of the forthcoming enhancements coming to Disneyland Paris. Over the next two years, the Disney Park will welcome Avengers Campus, Arendelle: World of Frozen, and a rumored Star Wars Land akin to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts.

Similar to Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney Studios Park’s Avengers Campus will feature WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure, Doctor Strange: Journey Into the Mystic Arts, and an anxiously-awaited Iron Man retheme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith. Even as concept art and ride details have been trickling in, the name of the future superhero attraction has remained unknown.

Until now.

In a new post, Disneyland Paris Communication Officer, Clément Gonier (@cgonier), has shared the new television commercial which quietly features the new name of the Marvel retheme.

Featuring Guests watching a battle between Black Widow, Taskmaster, and Black Panther, and meeting the enigmatic Tony Stark/Iron Man, the TV ad finds the Disney Park visitors standing outside the former Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith show building with a sign displaying its new name — Avengers Assemble: Flight Force.

The high-speed rollercoaster shuttered in September 2019, and finally, three years later, the attraction will reopen at Walt Disney Studios Park. As with any new Disney Parks attraction, it is sure to capture the attention of Guests visiting the Disney Resort when the land opens in “Early Summer 2022”. Disneyland Paris also recently relaunched its New York Disney hotel with Disney’s Hotel New York — The Art of Marvel.

Being the thrill ride it is, it can be expected that Avengers Assemble: Flight Force will be part of the Disney Premier Access system. Similar to Disney Genie and Lightning Lane in the United States, Disney Premier Access allows Guests to purchase a speedier entrance to their favorite rides at an additional cost to their theme park ticket.

The opening of Avengers Assemble: Flight Force marks the second major Marvel attraction arriving at the Walt Disney Company’s Disney Parks this year. May 27 finds the all-new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind debut in EPCOT Park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.

Disney Confirms Exclusive Annual Pass Event Will Return Later This Year

The Disney Parks around the world are continuing to update safety protocols as well as slowly bring back fan-favorite offerings as the world continues to fight against the ongoing pandemic.

Walt Disney World recently announced Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party would return for the 2022 season as well as Oogie Boogie Bash over at Disneyland Resort. Now, another fan-favorite event has just been confirmed to return later this year.

At Disneyland Paris, there are a lot of new and exciting experiences Guests can experience at both Walt Disney Studios and Disneyland Park — including the current 30th anniversary, which began on March 6, 2022 and allows Guests to “dream bigger, laugh louder and smile wider than ever before” as they immerse themselves into a spectacular and “one-of-a-kind 30th anniversary wonderland.”

Not only can Guests look forward to visiting Disneyland Paris during the 30th anniversary celebrations, but now they can look forward to attending the exclusive Annual Pass party, which is set to return later this year.

According to DLP Geek on Twitter, the Disneyland Paris Annual Pass party will take place later this year, but no other details have been released. They Tweeted:

At this time, we do not yet have confirmation on a date, ticket pricing, or any other details, but Inside the Magic will update you as we get information.
