Disney’s Celebrating Its 100th by Giving Out FREE Disney Anniversary LEGO Sets

Disney and LEGO are celebrating the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company by giving out free anniversary LEGO sets, and fans won’t want to miss this set!

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, and LEGO is joining in the celebration, especially as the two entities share a long-standing partnership that began in 1999.

Per LEGO:

In 1923, two brothers founded a new animation studio that went on to become one of the most treasured companies in the world. We know it today as Walt Disney Animation Studios, and it continues to bring magic and joy to millions of people around the world. It’s now been 100 years since The Walt Disney Company was born, so to celebrate its centenary, we’re taking a trip down memory lane to explore our partnership with Disney.

The Disney-LEGO partnership began in 1999 in the Hundred Acre Wood, where Christopher Robin, Winnie-the-Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, and Roo all live. The first Disney LEGO sets had a Winnie the Pooh theme and were comprised of just eight LEGO bricks. And though the sets are among the most simple LEGO has manufactured over the years, they eventually gave way to more detailed and complex sets.

Over the years, Disney-inspired LEGO sets have included characters from all of Disney and PIXAR’s major franchises, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Disney Princess, PIXAR’s Toy Story, Cars, and WALL-E, and Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean.

There are also Disney LEGO sets that include scores of Disney mini-figures of characters such as Captain Hook, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck, Aladdin, Stitch, Alice in Wonderland, Ariel, Ursula, and more. Some sets even include Prince John from Disney’s Robin Hood, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Baymax, the Queen of Hearts, Mulan, and Dr. Facilier from Disney’s Princess and the Frog.

In short, the Disney and LEGO partnership has been really good for fans of both enterprises who love the challenge of a new set of LEGO bricks–and are enamored by the lore and legacy of The Walt Disney Company’s history.

Now, in celebration of that 100-year-long history, LEGO and Disney have partnered yet again to bring fans a new LEGO brick set inspired by one of Walt Disney’s first-ever created characters. Sorry, Oswald, we don’t mean you.

Bricks included in the set can be used to build Willie’s iconic steamboat, as seen in the Steamboat Willie short, created by Walt Disney and animator

Ub Iwerks, which was released on November 18, 1928.

The Steamboat Willie LEGO set deal is through shopDisney, and it is live now on the website, as long as supplies last.

To get the free Steamboat Willie set, fans need to spend $150 on the site before including taxes and shipping and use the promotional code GIFT. This activates the free LEGO set deal in the cart. The best news of all is that the $150 doesn’t have to be spent on LEGO sets. It can be spent on anything on the site, so long as the total comes to $150 before tax and shipping.

On October 16, 2023, the Walt Disney Company celebrated 100 years of entertainment, storytelling, and magic. Throughout Disney Parks and entertainment, huge celebrations have been entertaining Guests. Celebrations have stretched across the globe from Disneyland in Anaheim, California, to Shanghai Disneyland and everywhere in between.

Once Upon a Studio was released on Disney+ and Hulu as one of the most notable Disney 100 tributes. This Disney short film celebrates 100 years of Walt Disney Studios Animation and storytelling. The 13-minute film encapsulates the magic, featuring 543 Disney characters from over 85 feature-length and short films released over the past 100 years.

Across the Disney Parks, Guests have experienced once-in-a-lifetime celebrations for Disney’s 100th anniversary. In Disneyland Paris, Guests cheered as 100 Disney characters, and Disney VoluntEARS paraded down Main Street, U.S.A. Even Disney entertainment is celebrating, as celebrated films, including Moana and The Lion King, are back in select theaters for a limited time to celebrate the anniversary.

Dancing With the Stars Celebrates Disney 100

Disney logo graphic design celebrates 100 years with new details

Last night on ABC, Dancing With the Stars celebrated Disney’s centenary with Disney 100 Night. The episode featured Disney-inspired dances and a special showcase featuring Encanto, that left fans speechless. The showcase also unveiled Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 Disney 100 Platinum Edition.

Starting out, some audience members weren’t quite sure if they were watching a dance or a commercial for the Hyundai Ioniq 5. After entering the Hyundai, iconic Disney characters joined the dancers, including Tinkerbell, Peter Pan, Wendy, Aladdin, Princess Jasmine, and even Sorcerer Mickey himself!

Once the stars arrived on the Dancing With the Stars stage, Guests were instantly thrilled when they heard the recognizable start to “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” from Disney’s Encanto. The dancer’s beautiful dresses referenced the traditional Columbian clothing worn by the films characters Mirabel, Isabella, Luisa, and more. Additionally, many dancers donned Bruno’s green poncho as a note to the Encanto character’s iconic look.

In addition to the beautiful costumes and set design, the dance even featured Bruno giving a prophesy. But you may be wondering, how do we avoid talking about Bruno with the show’s infamous judge Bruno Tonioli on set? Well Tonioli has a silent Bruno cameo during the number, but when the dance ended, he couldn’t help but shout his praise.

During the show, contestants celebrated Disney’s 100th anniversary with Disney-themed dances.  American Pie actress Alyson Hannigan and her partner Sasha Farber danced to “Be Our Guest” from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. Mauricio Umansky and Emma Slater performed “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice” from Fantasia. Mira Sorvino and partner Gleb Savchenko waltz to “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from Disney’s Cinderella.

The quickstep was performed by Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold to “You’ve Got A Friend in Me” from Toy Story. Jason Mraz danced the foxtrot with Daniella Karagach to “A Whole New World” from Aladdin. Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev waltzed to “Part of Your World” from Disney’s newest live-action remake, The Little Mermaid.

Dancing with the Stars Disney 100 night

Earning the highest scores of the night, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy stole the show with the Paso Doble to “Un Poco Loco” from Coco. Following close behind in high scores were partners Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov, dancing to Frozen 2’s “Into the Unknown.”

The Brady Bunch actor Barry Williams and his partner Peta Murgatroyd performed a jazz dance to “He’s a Tramp” from Disney’s Lady and the Tramp, earning the lowest score of the night. Lele Pons and Brandon Armstrong joined them in the bottom three and danced the rumba to “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” from The Lion King. However, NFL Star Adrian Peterson and Britt Stewart waltzed to “Baby Mine” from Dumbo and were eliminated by fans.

New Walt Disney Company 100th Anniversary ‘Lifetime’ Special Look Celebrates Theme Park & Movie Memories

The Walt Disney Company released a new “Lifetime” special look celebrating dreams come true for their 100th anniversary on October 16, 2023.

The video features clips from Disney films, new and old, with Walt Disney’s voice overlaid. It also highlights the theme parks, the company’s work with Make-A-Wish, and more.

It’s a complement to the sizzle reel released in 2022 in anticipation of the anniversary entitled “Tradition.” That reel had the message “100 years ago, a tradition began with you.” The new dream-themed ad follows that up with a matching sentiment: “It all started with a dream. You made it come true.”

It ends with Walt Disney saying, “We’re just getting started” and the words “here’s to the next 100 years” over the castle.

Disney Princesses Become American Girl Dolls in NEW Disney100 Collaboration

An iconic collaboration is set to captivate the hearts of fans around the world.

It has just been revealed that some of the Disney princesses have been transformed into American Girl dolls as part of a collaboration celebrating the Disney100 celebration. This extraordinary union brings together two iconic brands -the Walt Disney Company and American Girl- to create a magical product like no other.

The fact that it has taken so long for this collaboration to happen is honestly surprising. There is a ton of crossover between Disney fans and fans of American Girl dolls. American Girl is known for creating high-quality dolls and accessories that inspire children to be brave, kind, and confident. They are well known for their line of dolls featuring characters from different parts of history, as well as their “Doll of the Year” series.

This year, Disney has been hard at work creating unique and incredible collaborations with beloved brands. They are doing this as a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. Collaborations include everything from a Disney Car to LEGO sets to Disney Makeup collections.

Now, this new line with American Girl Dolls is in the running for being the best collab of all.

American Girl has just released three limited edition collector Dolls based on some of the most iconic Disney princesses. The collection includes Princess Jasmine, Princess Belle, and Princess Rapunzel. The dolls are made in extremely limited batches of 4,000 dolls each and are priced at $300 each. Each doll comes with the full costume from their respective animated film and a certificate of authenticity.

While these dolls are certainly on the more expensive end of American Girl Dolls, these collectibles will likely be worth a lot in the future. It is unclear if more princesses will be getting dolls in the future. There would certainly be a market for other Princesses like Tiana, Cinderella, Snow White, and Mulan.
