When we think of the Food Network Chef Guy Fieri, the first thing that comes to mind is Chicken Guy located in Disney Springs! In 2018, Guy Fieri brought flavor town to Disney Springs with an impressive quick-service spot that serves up an array of sauces, chicken, and just pure goodness. Well, Guy is keeping busy as he decided to put his talents to great use and feed first responders battling the California wildfires.
As shared by Today.com: “According to a post on Oct. 3 from the Sonoma-Lake Napa Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, Fieri traveled to the firefighters’ base camp over the weekend to help feed the 2,774 firefighters who have been trying to contain the fire.”
“Fieri has also used his influence to give back to the restaurant community. Earlier in 2020, he helped launch the Restaurant Employee Relief Fund (RERF) to benefit laid-off workers in the restaurant industry after the coronavirus pandemic led to record layoffs and business closures. The fund raised $21.5 million, which was dispersed to 43,000 restaurant workers in one-time $500 grants.”

If you were itching for a new Disney collection from Vera Bradley, then you’re in luck! Vera Bradley has just released two new Disney designs: Mickey’s Sweet Treats and Sweet Treat Ditsy.
Vera Bradley at Disney Springs is the only retail location where you’ll be able to get these sweet items. There was a socially distanced line outside when we stopped by for the release today. Everyone wants a piece of this delicious pie!
Guests were given a paper handout with a list of items so they could get an idea of what they wanted before entering. Mickey’s Sweet Treats is the darker design while Sweet Treat Ditsy is lighter.
Here is the Sweet Treat Ditsy design. It features purple Mickey cotton candy, a Mickey bar, Mickey donuts, Dole Whip, and ice cream!
The Sweet Treat Ditsy collection includes a passport wallet, a crossbody purse, a lanyard, a wristlet wallet, an ID case, a blanket, a luggage tag, and a convertible crossbody bag.
Mickey’s Sweet Treats is a paisley design featuring Mickey and friends and a few hidden Mickey snacks.
We found Goofy, Pluto, and Donald on this bag. All of Mickey’s friends are dressed up in purple, the main color of these collections.
There are more items in the Mickey’s Sweet Treats collection than the Sweet Treat Ditsy collection. Mickey’s Sweet Treats includes a mini hipster bag, a weekender bag, a sling backpack, a satchel, a campus backpack, a zip hipster bag, a crossbody purse, a blanket, a tote bag, and a cosmetic bag.
If you aren’t able to make it to the Vera Bradley store at Disney Springs, these items are also available online. You can place a phone order with the store by calling (407) 828-0040 during store hours. Of course online and phone orders are subject to availability.
Vera Bradley is also one of the retailers at Disney Springs that sells face masks, so it’s a good place to stop if you need to stock up.
The wait to see Cirque du Soleil’s new show, Drawn to Life, has just gotten longer.
According to the company’s ticketing website, performances have been suspended through February 10, 2021.
Performances have been delayed through November 17th. The show performs nightly at 5:30 PM Tuesdays through Saturdays and tickets start at $95. The show is currently scheduled through March 31st, 2021.
Drawn to Life was originally meant to open at Disney Springs on April 17, 2020. Cirque du Soleil offered to replace or refund any purchased tickets for showings impacted by the closure.
After months of unprecedented closures, guests can once again head on over to AMC Theatres, grab some popcorn, and settle in for a viewing of Ghostbusters on the big screen. Is it 1984 again? No, but it’s felt like decades since we last set foot inside of a movie theater.
For Yesterday only, the theater in Disney Springs offered special 15 cent tickets to various re-runs of popular recent films and some throwbacks, as well.
Outside, social distancing markers were set up along the queue to the ticket windows, however mobile ticketing is encouraged. While old Sonic the Hedgehog posters lined the exterior of the theater, there is an adorable Soul banner…“Coming Soon to Theaters”.
In the Concessions, where there are a few notable changes. First off is a simplified menu for shorter lines and quicker service. Condiments like ketchup, relish, and butter for popcorn are available by request, as are things like napkins, lids, and straws.
Grab & Go items are still available, as are Mobile Ordering Pick-Up windows.
Cash is no longer accepted at the Concessions stand. If needed, guests can use cash at the ticket booth to buy an AMC card, and then they can use that to purchase concessions.
Refills on popcorn and Coca-Cola Freestyle drinks are temporarily unavailable, and Crew Members fill up your drink or ICEE orders.
