March 1 marked the official launch of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser at Walt Disney World Resort, and to celebrate we have a special video to share from a galaxy far, far away.
Actor Oscar Isaac, who plays Resistance hero Poe Dameron in the latest Star Wars film trilogy, recently visited the Halcyon starcruiser to tour the ship with Disney Imagineer Scott Trowbridge and try out some of the exciting onboard activities. Check out his adventure, and hear his reaction to seeing this first-of-its-kind immersive experience for himself.
Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opens next week to voyagers looking for an adventure in a galaxy far, far away. Ahead of the Starcruiser’s debut, Disney has released exciting new details about the experience, including interesting details about the Halcyon Starcruiser itself and brand-new details about dining options onboard the Starcruiser!
According to a press release from Disney today, the Starcruiser “boasts a robust and imaginative dining program developed especially for this vacation experience.” Menus full of some familiar tastes as well as some “unexpected” flavors, colors, and textures will only add to the experience and work to immerse Guests even more fully into the adventure aboard the Starcruiser.
The Crown of Corellia Dining Room
The Crown of Corellia Dining Room is a supper club aboard the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. Disney calls it a “dynamic and welcoming hall” that offers Guests breakfast buffets and lunch buffets during daytime hours.
In the evening, the Crown of Corellia “comes alive” with a table-service menu feature several lavish courses. Disney touts the menu as one that features both “otherworldly and familiar origins.” On the first night of the adventure, Guests will be treated to a live performance from the Twi’lek musician Gaya. Gaya continues to immerse Guests in the experience by moving throughout the dining room as she performs.
Then Gaya performs alongside another musician named Ouannii, creating a show that will have Guests moving and grooving. (As a side note, the lyrics to some of Gaya’s performances may even give Guests more insight about the experience aboard the Starcruiser.)
On the second night of the adventure, Guests will be treated to the “Taste Around the Galaxy” dinner experience. Each course during the dinner represents a different planet. As part of the offering, Guests will enjoy:
Smoking cheeses and bread reminiscent of molten planet Mustafar
Blue shrimp from the dense jungles of Felucia
Beef and seafood native to the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk
The Sublight Lounge
In addition to the Crown of Corellia Dining Room, Guests can also enjoy the Sublight Lounge. The lounge is located just off the ship’s Atrium. It offers Guests an upscale and stylish spot for socializing, offering a selection of ales, wines, and cocktails from different locations around the galaxy far, far, away. The lounge also offers Guests choices of light snacks.

The Walt Disney Company is facing a bit of a disaster with its newest endeavor, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida.
For months at this point, the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser has come under fire for myriad reasons, from the lackluster appearance of the “luxury” Corellian starliner’s staterooms to the $6,000+ cost for a two-night trip.
Some fans have even called the entire situation surrounding the costly Resort hotel “just a mess.”
At one point, Disney even went so far as to remove a particular marketing video following intense backlash. But now, the company has given Disney Parks fans a new first look inside the Starcruiser and it appears that they are attempting to fix everything that went wrong the first time around with higher quality video and iconic background music taken straight from the Star Wars movies.
In this new video [below], Lucasfilm Franchise Content & Strategy executive Matt Martin and Walt Disney Imagineer Travis Finstein share details about the experience. The duo noted:
“When passengers come to the Starcruiser today, they will encounter a Halcyon that has been recently restored to its former glory, the way it really looked in the earliest days of its voyages across the galaxy — the way its meant to be seen.”
Although some fans believe the Starcruiser experience is already becoming less immersive before it has even launched, Disney has recently been making an effort to connect the Halcyon luxury starliner to the rest of the Star Wars story with additions like Star Wars: The High Republic novel “Mission to Disaster” by Justina Ireland and the upcoming “The Princess and Scoundrel,” which will feature Han Solo and Princess Leia Organa’s wedding onboard the Corellian ship.
Although Disney continues to assert that they are “pleased with demand” for the Star Wars-themed hotel, cancelations have been pouring in, so this clear effort to fix some of the earlier marketing mistakes for the experience speaks volumes.
While a trip to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” should be fun, exciting, and magical, sometimes it can be difficult to plan and stressful. Perhaps the biggest complaint people have with Walt Disney World right now is how expensive it can be to visit. From hotels to Park tickets and restaurants, a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort can be quite pricey.
Sometimes, however, Guests’ trips can get even more expensive without them realizing it. It is becoming more apparent that Disney may add a charge to your bill that may not always make sense. A recent Reddit thread highlighted this issue. See the full post from u/ silentsnipe21below:
Heads up for online check-in
I just checked out today and they charged me $15 a day to park. As I took Mears I didn’t have a car. I went to the front desk and they took it off. She said that it’s automatically added if you do online check in and arn’t on magical express. I reminded her that doesn’t exist anymore but she just said “yep”. So read your bills carefully at the end. That was $75 they charged me for nothing.
A swarm of other users shared their same experiences with these “mystery” charges. User u/WirtThePegLeggedBy commented:
User u/SkyYellow_SunBlue said the same thing happened to them:
User u/77thHorcrux also said they had a mysterious charge on their bill:

It is always important to double-check all your bills after a Disney vacation to ensure that you are accurately billed. While unfortunate, this does happen fairly often and Disney will add on charges to your overall bill during your stay. Some at Inside the Magic have encountered this as well, as it seems Disney may sometimes assume that you drove and parked overnight. After speaking with Cast Members, we were quickly able to have this rectified.
Mystery charges aside, many Guests are starting to think that Disneyland and Walt Disney World are too expensive. From the smaller portion sizes to increased prices throughout the Parks, a typical Disney vacation seems to be getting more and more costly. Lots of Guests are simply saying that Disney is starting to “price them out” and that they won’t return in the future. Many have also been heavily critical of the insanely expensive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser opening up this March.
The three-night immersive experience will set you back around $5,000, which doesn’t include any drinks or a Park ticket to Hollywood Studios which Guests will be taking trips to throughout their stay so they can experience all of the attractions within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
