As mentioned in a recent article about the PhotoPass opportunities at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Walt Disney World Parks have been adding more and more of these around the various parks.
Disney Parks Blog gives a short summary of some of the unique photo opportunities and also provides a downloadable Summer Disney PhotoPass Service Guide for summer 2019.
Disney Parks Blog –
“We’ve recently added so many new photo and video opportunities to our existing collection of experiences offered year-round, including: new Magic Shots and photo locations celebrating “The Lion King,” a limited-time photo and video experience that captures you in front of Cinderella Castle like never before, our 13th Walt Disney World Resort attraction photo capture opportunity onboard the Haunted Mansion attraction (MagicBand required), and new Animated Magic Shots at select Character Experiences. Just to name a few!”
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is without a doubt one reason to visit the Magic Kingdom over the Christmas holiday. With Magic Kingdom decked out, cookies and cocoa, and some great holiday entertainment, it is an incredibly special experience that is not to be missed. Now, party guests have something new to start counting down to, a brand new Christmas fireworks show.
From a current Disney cast member;
“Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks show, hosted by the one-and-only Minnie Mouse, will celebrate the magic of Christmas with medleys of beloved holiday songs, from “Joy to the World” and “Deck the Halls” to “Up on the House Top” and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas.” The holiday music will evoke heartfelt moments of home and family, as well as the festive fun of the season before an incredible finale you won’t want to miss.
You’ll be able to see the fireworks show during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party on select nights November 8 – December 22, 2019. And if you are looking for an extra magical way to celebrate the brand new show in its first year, our fireworks dessert parties are the perfect option! You can add on this experience to enjoy treats, including chocolate-dipped strawberries, cupcakes, ice cream, seasonal fruits, cheeses and other festive favorites while taking advantage of dedicated, dazzling views of the show.
Along with our new show, each of this year’s 23 nights of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will feature performances of Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, A Totally Tomorrowland Christmas and Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show. And during A Frozen Holiday Wish stage show, Queen Elsa will magically transform Cinderella Castle with glistening ice.
During Party nights, you can also experience select rides and attractions (including the “Jingle Cruise”), savor complimentary treats, discover event-exclusive merchandise, delight to a magical “snowfall” on Main Street, U.S.A., and more.”
Get your tickets to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and enjoy this fireworks show this upcoming holiday season.
Disney launched the Mobile Order service within My Disney Experience for multiple quick service dining locations throughout the theme parks and Disney Springs over a year ago. The service allows guests to order and pay for their food from the app and then pick it up from the pickup window when it is ready.
It saves time waiting in line to order food so that the experience is more convenient for guests and their time in the parks.
Disney Parks Blog confirmed that the service will now be expanded to more restaurants at select Disney Resort hotels. The first restaurant additions include Everything POP Shopping & Dining at Disney’s Pop Century Resort, The Mara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Contempo Café at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Guests are also able to use their Disney Dining Plan entitlements within the service, so it works great for guests one of the dining plans to easily order their meal.
Remember that you don’t need to be staying at a Disney Resort hotel in order to eat there, and the same goes for Mobile Order as well.
From Disney Parks Blog, “The mobile order service is yet another way we are improving the vacation experience for guests through the My Disney Experience app, especially at Disney Resort hotels, where select guests can streamline check in to start their vacation even faster, use their mobile device as a digital key, view bus times and much more.”
The holiday season is a fantastic time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. There are so many things to see and do during this time at the resorts and the parks.
Disney World goes all out when it comes to decorating the parks, with once exception. Compared to the other parks, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has always been a little light on the holiday entertainment and decor.
Well, this year that is going to change. Disney has announced new holiday offerings in Animal Kingdom.
According to Disney Cast Members;
“Everyone will be feeling extra merry and bright at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this holiday season, with festive new entertainment and holiday décor in every land!
It all begins when you cross the bridge to Discovery Island, finding yourself in the midst of a celebration of winter, hand-crafted by the eclectic community of artists who make the island their home. The village is filled with sparkling white holiday decorations. Colorful, animal-inspired luminaries line the rooftops, and wireframe lanterns in the shape of beautiful birds can be found perched throughout the area. And during the day, Discovery Island springs to life with a holiday gathering of winter animals, realized in the form of life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets. Reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more interact with guests, accompanied by serenading musicians as they create a playful atmosphere of festive fun.
As day becomes night, the rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns all around Discovery Island bring a warm and festive glow to the entire village. At the center of everything, the Tree of Life awakens with a series of wintry tales, complemented by a familiar and heartwarming holiday-inspired musical score. Between awakening moments, the Tree of Life continues to shimmer and sparkle throughout the night, alive with the magic of nature and the spirit of the holidays.
Over in Dinoland, U.S.A., all the Disney character friends gathered for Donald’s Dino-Bash! get into the spirit with colorful holiday decorations in the style of Donald Duck and each of his pals, and at night, you’re invited to gather ‘round Truck-O-Saurus for the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party with Chip ‘n Dale and plenty of interactive fun and games.
In Asia, the residents of Anandapur have decorated the theatre district in celebration of Diwali, the holiday festival of lights in India. Glowing flowers, lanterns and more illuminate the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage, home to authentic cultural performances.
The village of Harambe in Africa welcomes visitors with a unique holiday presentation, blending the inspiration and style of western traditions with the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations. The various groups appearing throughout Harambe introduce holiday-inspired enhancements, including costume additions and new music, to their performances. The holiday fun continues inside Tusker House for dining with Disney friends, where Mickey and his pals spread holiday cheer throughout the meal.
The holiday spirit even reaches Pandora – The World of Avatar, where the ex-pats living and working on the moon of Pandora bring a little Christmastime fun to their alien home, with a display at Pongu Pongu of kitschy holiday décor, combining vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.
It’s going to be an extra magical holiday season at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and across Walt Disney World Resort, filled with wonder and delight in all four parks! Make plans to join us, starting November 8, 2019.”
