The fan-favorite Star Wars TV series: The Clone Wars will be returning to your screens for its final series.

Announced at D23 Expo’s Disney+ panel, “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will be returning in February 2020, to air exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service.

All of the Star Wars films and series (released so far) will be available upon launch of the streaming service.

New Details About Marvel TV Series On Disney+

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding to Disney+, and at the D23 Expo, we got some more details about some of the shows that are coming to the new streaming service.

“What If…?” is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first animated series, showing what would’ve happened if key events in the MCU had gone differently. And sure enough, a lot of your favorite stars from the MCU are coming back to reprise their characters, including Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Hayley Atwell, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Brolin, and more.

Here’s one scenario that was discussed: What if Steve Rogers didn’t get the super-soldier serum that made him Captain America, and instead it went to Peggy Carter?

We also learned slightly more about “Loki,” the series starring Tom Hiddleston in his beloved role from the MCU. The series will be six hours long, though we don’t know how many episodes that will be broken up over. “Loki” premieres on Disney+ in Spring 2021.

A little bit more was declassified about “The Falcon and the Winter Solder,” which sees Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, and Daniel Brühl reprise their roles as Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and Helmut Zemo. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” will focus not only on these characters’ pasts, but their lives in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame. Emily VanCamp will also reprise her role as Sharon Carter, aka Agent 13, as seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. A new character will also emerge named John Walker, though we learned nothing more about them. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” premieres on Disney+ starting Fall 2020.

And finally, the last TV series mentioned was “WandaVision.” “WandaVision” stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprising their roles as Wanda Maximoff (aka Scarlet Witch) and the Vision, respectively. The show will be a half-classic sitcom, half-MCU adventure, evoking the style of television of the 50’s and 60’s. Shooting hasn’t begun yet on the series, but we learned more about casting, as there are more MCU characters joining the series, including Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis (ThorThor: The Dark World) and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo (Ant-Man and the Wasp). Kathryn Hahn will also be joining the show as a nosy neighbor. “WandaVision” premieres on Disney+ in Spring 2021.

Disney Store Coming to Select Targets

The magic of Disney is coming to Target.

Walt Disney Company and Target announced Sunday that they are teaming up and unveiled plans to open 25 Disney stores inside of Target stores.

The first “shop-in-shop” locations will open Oct. 4 and are spread out at Target locations across the country. A new Disney-focused digital experience launched Sunday at Target.com/Disneystore.

“Our fans are always telling us that they want more Disney,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, during a call with reporters. “We believe that by extending our Disney footprint to Target stores we’re going to be able to give our guests that opportunity.”

Another 40 locations are expected to open by October 2020.

The Disney shops will be an average of 750 square feet and located near Target’s kids clothing and toy departments. The in-store shops will have more than 450 items, including more than 100 products previously only available at Disney retail locations.

“We know there’s a very strong overlap between both Disney fans and Target shoppers so we’re looking forward to reaching Disney fans when and where they want to shop,” Target CEO Brian Cornell said. “It’s an opportunity for us to bring our brands together and delight our guests for years to come.”

In addition to Star Wars and Disney Princess items, shops will carry a variety of merchandise featuring Marvel, Disney Junior characters, classic Disney plush, apparel, home and holiday-specific products. The mini-stores will offer “a welcoming and engaging shopping experience for the entire family, with music, interactive displays, photo opportunities and a seating area where families can relax and watch Disney movie clips,” the companies said in a joint statement.

Dwayne Johnson & Emily Blunt to Star in “jungle Cruise” Movie

Taking the stage to present Disney’s upcoming live-action releases, Sean Bailey, president, Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production, told fans, “We have gone deep into the jungles to find the inspiration for one of our next big adventures—in fact, we’ve gone all the way to the back side of water.” Bailey then welcomed Dwayne Johnson, who sailed in on a Jungle Cruise boat to show a trailer for Jungle Cruise, the upcoming live-action release.

“We wanted to make a movie that was big, that was epic, that had romance, big comedy, big action, but—most importantly—it’s got me,” Johnson said as he introduced the “trailer” for Jungle Cruise with his role as riverboat captain Frank Wolff.

Dwayne Johnson isn’t the only big star in the cast, he has a talented and very beloved co-star, Emily Blunt, who plays Dr. Lily Houghton. Blunt drove onto the stage via a classic car, to present her own “trailer” showing off her character.

“We are keenly aware of the responsibility we have for such a beloved property, and that property is Jungle Cruise, the ride,” Johnson assured fans.

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Disney’s Jungle Cruise hits U.S. theaters on July 24, 2020.
