Watch ‘Candlelight Processional’ at Home

The Candlelight Processional at EPCOT is part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays is a fan-favorite that is sorely missed this year. Thankfully, Disney has released a virtual viewing of a performance recorded last year with narration by guest-favorite Neil Patrick Harris.

“Candlelight Processional” is a wonderful holiday tradition for Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. Each night at both Disneyland park and EPCOT, a massed choir performs songs of the season as a celebrity narrator retells the Christmas story.

Since this yuletide event isn’t happening this year, we are bringing you some virtual holiday magic with a special encore performance, which you can view below. This processional was filmed in 2019 at EPCOT and features narration by guest-favorite Neil Patrick Harris. You’ll also hear from Becky Cline of the Walt Disney Archives, who shares the storied history of the processional and why it’s become so beloved by so many.

2 More Celebrities Added To Candlelight Processional Lineup

Disney just revealed two more stars who are slated to appear at the Candlelight Processional as part of the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays. The Festival of the Holidays is a park-wide celebration with glittering decorations, music and entertainment, and delectable treats. The Festival kicks off Nov. 29. and will continue through Dec. 30, 2019.

The two stars that were added to the lineup includes film and television actress, director and wildlife conservationist Isabella Rossellini on Dec. 8-10; and actress, author, activist and Oscar winner Marlee Matlin on Dec. 27-28. They join an amazing cast of narrators that begins with Ming-Na Wen, actress and voice of Disney animated heroine Mulan on Nov. 29-Dec. 1.

Held in the America Gardens Theatre, the Candlelight Processional combines the talents of a live orchestra, massed choir and celebrity narrator in the retelling of the traditional Christmas story!

Here’s the line-up of celebrity narrators* confirmed to-date:

  • Ming-Na Wen – November 29 through December 1
  • Neil Patrick Harris – December 2-5
  • Whoopi Goldberg – December 6-7
  • Isabella Rossellini – December 8 through 10
  • Gary Sinise – December 13-15
  • Pat Sajak – December 16-18
  • Steven Curtis Chapman – December 22- December 24
  • Edward James Olmos – December 25-26
  • Marlee Matlin – December 27 – 28
  • Lisa Ling – December 29-30

The Candlelight Processional is performed three times per night (5:00, 6:45 and 8:15 p.m.), and guaranteed seating is available by booking a breakfast, lunch or dinner Candlelight Processional Dining Package at select Epcot dining locations.

Current Narrators for Candlelight Processional Announced – More To Come

During the Christmas season, one of the highlights events each year at Epcot is the nightly Candlelight Processional. Each night, a celebrity narrator tells the biblical tale of a savior born to a virgin in Bethlehem. All the while, gorgeous choral pieces are woven into the production as an orchestra and choir provide and inspirational backdrop with songs of hope and joy.

Thanks to Disney Parks Blog, we have a look at the current confirmed line-up of celebrity narrators.  The list will be updated as we get closer to the event, but below is what we know so far:

  • Neil Patrick Harris – 12/2-12/5
  • Whoopi Goldberg – 12/6-12/7
  • Gary Sinise – 12/13-12/15
  • Pat Sajak – 12/16-12/18
  • Steven Curtis Chapman – 12/22-12/24
  • Edward James Olmos – 12/25-12/26

The Candlelight Processional is performed three times per night at 5 PM, 6:45 PM and 8:15 PM.
