Judge orders protection Of photos taken in Bob Saget’s death investigation

A judge has permanently blocked local authorities from releasing any photos or videos taken of Bob Saget’s body and his personal effects following his untimely passing.

This morning, Circuit Judge Vincent Chiu ruled on an injunction that would stop the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office from releasing photos and videos related to Bob Saget’s death case and autopsy. Per the judge’s ruling during a virtual hearing in the lawsuit filed by Saget’s wife and children, local entities will be prohibited from making these items available to the public, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

The family filed suit to block authorities from releasing photos and videos of Saget following his death on January 9 at the Ritz Carlton Orlando Grande Lake Hotel.

Saget was found deceased in his hotel room on January 9 after family members were unable to contact him. Medical Examiner Joshua Stephany performed an autopsy on January 10 and released his report of findings in February.

His death was ruled an accident, though his injuries were severe. Head trauma was listed as the cause of death.

These findings were ultimately met with more questions by neurologists around the country, as well as Saget’s heartbroken fans, who wanted to know how Saget’s extensive injuries, including multiple skull fractures, could have been the result of a mere “backward fall.” Some even took to social media to post about the possibility of foul play.

The attorney for Saget’s family, Brian Bieber, told the judge that he had met with local authorities and that they had come to an agreement about the disclosure of certain photos and video. According to Bieber, Orange County Sheriff’s Officers took 147 photos during their death investigation. Ninety of those, which include images of Saget’s body and his personal effects will be confidential, while the other 57 photos of the hotel room will not receive any protection.

“I want to commend everybody involved here because this could have been very messy,” Judge Chiu said after his ruling. “I think what we’ve done here, what the parties have done here, is strike a very delicate and necessary balance.”

During this difficult time for Saget’s family, Judge Chiu had words of hope”Nothing that we’re going to do today obviously is going to take away the pain of your loss,” Judge Chiu said to the family. “But the hope is that what we can do today by entering this injunction is to allow you a little bit of space and privacy to travel that.”

Investigators Reveal What They Believe Happened to Bob Saget

On January 9, 2022, actor and comedian Bob Saget was found dead in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando. Saget was found when his family requested a welfare check after being unable to reach him. According to reports, Saget was found in his bed with his arm across his chest. No drug use or foul play was suspected at the time, and the family later revealed that Saget’s death had been caused by blunt force trauma.

Saget’s unexpected cause of death left many fans reeling. They — along with some in the medical community — wondered how the actor could have suffered such damage, including a skull fracture and bleeding on the brain. Following the release of the autopsy results, Saget’s family filed a lawsuit to prevent the public release of records regarding the investigation into the actor’s death.

Well, now, investigators who spoke to People Magazine are sharing exactly what they think happened. Per People:

Now, investigators have pieced together a theory of how Saget died.

Authorities checked the marble end tables and counters in the bathroom, but found no traces of blood or hair. Now, they believe that Saget lost consciousness in the bathroom and fell backward onto the marble floor, striking his head.

Police believe that a groggy Saget regained consciousness and stumbled into bed, where he again lost consciousness and died. His time of death was estimated to be around 4:00 am, approximately 12 hours before his body was found.

As police move towards closing the investigation into Saget’s death, those close to the actor are choosing to focus on the fond memories they had with him.

Saget’s death shined a light on the seriousness of head injuries. Actress Dana Delany (Body of Proof, Desperate Housewives) recently suffered a fall and hit her head. She posted to Twitter and told her fans that Bob Saget’s death made her feel like she should go to the hospital to check that everything was okay, and she had no serious injuries.

Thank you all for your concern. I fell down some iron stairs head first (totally sober!) & all I could think of was poor Bob Saget. So I grabbed the handrail with my face. I was afraid it was fractured but thankfully, no. The folks at St John’s emergency took great care of me.

Saget’s death crushed not only those who admired his acting and comedy, but also those who worked closely with him for years. Many of Saget’s Full House costars shared their devastation at his passing on social media. Saget’s costars Dave Coulier and John Stamos — as well as singer John Mayer — were pallbearers at his funeral. Saget’s family thanked fans for their support and asked for privacy as they cope with their loss.

Bob Saget’s family asks Orange County judge to restrict the release of death records

Heartbroken family members of the late comedian and actor Bob Saget have filed suit in Orange County, Florida, to block authorities from releasing records that pertain to the investigation into the actor’s death, according to The Orlando Sentinel.

A suit filed today by Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, and Saget’s three daughters, Aubrey Saget, Lara Saget, and Jennifer Saget, is aimed at preventing the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the District Nine Medical Examiner’s Office from releasing further information about Saget’s death investigation. The suit is in response to a number of requests for public records that relate to the investigation that took place after Saget was found deceased in his room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Hotel on January 9.

According to the complaint filed in court, Saget’s family will “suffer irreparable harm in the form of extreme mental pain, anguish, and emotional distress” if more information about Saget’s death investigation is released. The complaint further states that “no legitimate public interest would be served by the release or dissemination of the records to the public.”

The beloved actor and comedian was perhaps best known for his role as single dad of three, Danny Tanner, on the Disney-owned ABC series, Full House, which aired on ABC for eight seasons from 1987 to 1995.

Saget was in Florida as part of his I Don’t Do Negative tour. He had just performed his stand-up comedy show the night before he was discovered deceased in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton. Saget’s family released a statement last week, citing head trauma as that which precipitated and caused his passing. The final autopsy report was not released until Friday by the Orange County Florida Medical Examiner, Dr. Joshua Stephany.

The report echoed what Saget’s family shared: that head trauma led to the actor’s death. The official report cited multiple fractures to Saget’s skull and detailed injuries that the medical examiner attributed to a fall. But since the official report was released, members of the medical community have raised questions about the findings, suggesting that such extensive injuries would have resulted from a very serious event, such as falling from a significant height, being struck, or having been thrown as in a car accident.

“I think what it reveals more than anything else is this was not a simple bump on the head,” says neurosurgeon Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Chief Medical Correspondent for CNN. “When you read this autopsy report that may still be the case, but it was a pretty significant blow to the head.”

Fans of the late actor have taken to social media to air their questions about Saget’s injuries, some going so far as to claim foul play, against what the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report from January 9 states.

Attorneys for Saget’s family from the GrayRobinson law firm in Orlando say that photos, videos, and audio recordings from Saget’s death investigation should not be released, as they are confidential.

“The facts of the investigation should be made public, but these materials should remain private out of respect for the dignity of Mr. Saget and his family,” said GrayRobinson attorney Brian Bieber in a statement. “It’s very simple from a human and legal standpoint; the Saget family’s privacy rights outweigh any public interest in disclosure of this sensitive information.”

Under Florida law concerning public records, documentation of autopsies that include photos, videos, and audio recordings are exempt from release to the public. This exemption was created by Florida’s legislature after the death of NASCAR’s Dale Earnhardt in February 2001 in response to controversy over his autopsy photos.

Final Autopsy Report released in Bob Saget’s death reveals more than just head trauma

The final autopsy report has been released in the death of comedian and actor Bob Saget.

Saget was found deceased in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando hotel on January 9 by hotel staff after Saget’s family requested a welfare check on the 65-year-old actor. Multiple family members had tried to reach Saget by phone and were unsuccessful. Hotel staff found Mr. Saget unresponsive and called 911.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office report, there were no signs of foul play or drug use in Saget’s hotel room. The room was neat and orderly “with items owned by Mr. Saget on the nightstand, television stand, closet, and bathroom.”

The report also stated that “Mr. Saget was found in a supine position on his bed. His left arm was across his chest while his right arm was resting on the bed. No signs of trauma were seen.”

But according to the final autopsy report released by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office and reported by CNN, trauma was indeed the cause of Saget’s death.“It is in my opinion that the death of Robert Saget, a 65-year-old white male found unresponsive in a hotel room, is the result of blunt head trauma,” Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Joshua D. Stephany stated in the report. “It is the most probable that the decedent suffered an unwitnessed fall backwards and struck the posterior aspect of his head. The manner of death is accident.”The official report underscores what Saget’s family shared in a statement on Wednesday, February 9, when they shared publicly that head trauma had caused Saget’s unexpected death.

Dr. Stephany’s report noted other findings from the autopsy conducted on January 10, including an enlarged heart, as well as a 95% blockage in one side of his heart. The autopsy report further cited results from a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test conducted as part of the death examination. A PCR test is a diagnostic test that analyzes blood or tissue to determine if genetic material from a virus is present. In this case, the virus was coronavirus, and the result was positive for COVID-19.Saget had said in December that he had contracted COVID-19. Results from a PCR test for the coronavirus can remain positive for weeks after a patient has completely recovered from the virus.

According to the toxicology report, no alcohol was present in Saget’s blood. But the report states that the drugs Clonazepam/Klonopin and Trazadone were found in his system. Clonazepam/Klonopin is prescribed for panic disorders, seizures, and anxiety, and Trazadone is an antidepressant.

Bob Saget’s Family Reveals His Cause of Death

On January 9, 2022, police responded to a 9-1-1 call at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando about an unconscious male being found in one of their hotel rooms. We later learned that that man was Full House actor Bob Saget. There was no evidence of drug use or signs of foul play, so an autopsy was performed. According to reports, Saget was found on his bed with his arm across his chest.

There has been speculation for weeks about how Saget passed away, and now his family has made a statement. According to the family, the coroner has determined that Saget died of head trauma. Saget’s family made the following statement:

“Now that we have the final conclusions from the authorities’ investigation, we felt it only proper that the fans hear those conclusions directly from us.

The authorities have determined that Bob passed from head trauma. They have concluded that he accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it and went to sleep. No drugs or alcohol were involved.

As we continue to mourn together, we ask everyone to remember the love and laughter that Bob brought to this world, and the lessons he taught us all: to be kind to everyone, to let the people you love know you love them, and to face difficult times with hugs and laughter.”
