Guest Arrested After Sneaking Through Temperature Check

While most guests have been happy to follow Disney’s COVID-19 safety protocol, some have been more confrontational. One guest protested his arrest after he skipped the mandatory temperature screening and refused to comply with security.

Kelly Sills, 47, was visiting Walt Disney World from Louisiana on February 13th when he refused to comply with temperature screening at Disney Springs. He evaded the temperature check station and was confronted outside The Boathouse.

After being asked to cooperate with temperature screening or leave the property, Sills refused and was subsequently arrested. He claimed that after spending $15,000 on his vacation, he was entitled to stay on property.

“I paid $15,000. You can’t trespass me for paying $15,000,” said Sills.

Sills was also trespassed from all Disney property as a result of the incident.

Man Arrested for Spitting at Walt Disney World Cast Member Over Mask Policy

An arrest report has hit the news regarding a Florida man that allegedly spit on a Walt Disney World security guard at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The report shows that once the cast member asked the man to put on a mask, he spit at her.

As reported via OrlandoSentinel: “A 51-year-old Palm Beach man was charged with a felony after he was accused of spitting at a Disney World security guard who asked him to put on his mask, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s arrest report released Monday. Kelly McKin was charged with a battery on a security officer, court records show. McKin adamantly denied spitting on the guard last month at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, the arrest report said.”

OrlandoSentinel goes on to report: “On Feb. 5, the guard said she had confronted him about not wearing a mask on Disney property as he was walking into the Contemporary’s convention center. She asked if he needed directions. “I’m a guest,” he told her. The convention center was closed, she said. She asked him to put on his mask. He promised he would do so once he went inside the building. The security guard reminded him masks were required at all times on Disney property.“The male told her to leave him alone, and took a step towards her and spit on her,” the arrest report said. “The spit did not make direct contact but some saliva did hit her on her left forehead.”

“The guard, who did not have a radio on her, went to get backup while the man disappeared inside the hotel and got on the elevators. “That was the last he was seen,” the arrest report said. The security contact notified Disney she had been at risk of COVID-19 exposure. She also told authorities she was willing to press charges against the man. The next day, Feb. 6, Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from Disney requesting a trespass warning after the man had been identified and seen on surveillance footage. McKin was later arrested and trespassed from Disney property.”

While we understand masks can be a pain, the policy is very clear that while on Disney property a mask must be worn. Furthermore, even if you’re not following the mask requirements and are corrected to do so, spitting at someone is definitely the extreme.

Two Men Arrested for Trespassing Backstage at Tokyo DisneySea

Two men were arrested for trespassing backstage at Tokyo DisneySea on February 21st, according to Nippon Television Network News24 (in Japanese). The two, one in his forties and one teenager, reportedly met online before attempting to enter the backstage area.

After entering the backstage area, an Oriental Land Company Cast Member became suspicious of the two and immediately reported them to the Chiba Prefectural Police. Upon investigation of their belongings, police found forged OLC identification cards (which must be shown to enter the shared backstage area between Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea). It’s believed these cards were used to bypass the initial security check. Upon arrest, the men stated that they hoped to see “something rare and interesting”.

Man Charged with Attacking Security Guard at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

In an apparent drug-induced rage, a South Florida man attacked a Disney security guard at Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand U.S.A. on October 25, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office report.

As reported by the OrlandoSentinel: James Arvid, 19, of Pompano Beach, was arrested and charged with battery on a security guard, a third-degree felony, according to Orange Circuit Court records. He has pleaded not guilty.

The uniformed 41-year-old Disney security guard was on patrol in the DinoLand U.S.A. area when Arvid tackled him from behind. Arvid put the guard in a headlock and held him down, but the guard still managed to radio for help. Eventually, theme-park guests noticed what was happening and pulled Arvid off the guard and “subdued him” until law enforcement arrived.

The ordeal left the guard with two bloody cuts on his elbow, but he was not seriously hurt, the report said. No guests were hurt, according to Disney. A deputy sheriff described Arvid as “bloody, sweating profusely, non-responsive to commands, and compulsively kicking his legs.”

“I took LSD and tried to kill someone,” Arvid later told a nurse but he could not remember anything else that had happened at the park, according to the report. An emergency room doctor told authorities Arvid showed signs of heatstroke, alcohol use, and drug use which could lead to aggression and a heightened mental state, the report said.

Man Accused of Impersonating an Officer & Carrying BB Gun at Disney Springs

According to recent reports, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man at Disney Springs for impersonating a law enforcement officer and carrying a concealed weapon.

As shared by FoxOrlando35: The Orange County Sheriff’s Office say Nathaniel Smith, 18, was flagged by security at Disney Springs about possibly having a gun. Deputies say Smith told them that he was recently hired by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a special agent by the agency’s Atlanta, Georgia division.

When the deputy asked to see his badge, Smith pulled one out. The deputy then asked for a phone number for his supervisor, which Smith could not provide. Upon further investigation, the responding deputy said he found badges similar to Smith’s being sold on Amazon. The deputy then found a concealed and loaded Glock 19 replica BB gun inside Smith’s waistband. The badge and BB gun were seized and the 18-year-old was arrested.

He’s charged with impersonating an officer, unlawful display of a badge and carrying a concealed weapon.
