Walt Disney Company Picks Up 102 Daytime Emmy Nominations

Kudos to the Walt Disney Company! They have received 102 daytime Emmy nominations which is no small feat. The 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards has nominated the Walt Disney Company across many platforms from talk shows like The View, to cable networks like Disney Junior, and ABC’s daytime drama General Hospital. The Walt Disney Company’s networks and brands combined to earn a total of 102 nominations for the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy® Awards. ABC’s daytime drama General Hospital received 23 nods, the most received by any program this year, and overall the network has 38 nominations in all. The View was the most-nominated talk show this year with eight nominations. Now in its 23rd season, The View received the most nominations since its eleventh season.

Among cable networks, Disney Junior was the most-nominated cable network, with 25 nominations, including seven for the animated preschool series Elena of Avalor; followed by Disney Channel, with 23 nominations, including seven for Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure.

The streaming service Hulu received seven Daytime Emmy Award nominations, including six for the series Light as a Feather.

Additionally, syndicated series Live with Kelly and Ryan and Tamron Hall also earned multiple nods.

National Geographic earned a nomination in the Outstanding Special Class—Short Form Daytime Program category for Rewind Nature.

ABC Brings Back “The Wonderful World Of Disney” Tonight With Showing Of “Moana” And Live Tweeting From Auli’i Cravalho & Lin-Manuel Miranda

I see what’s happening here. ABC has revealed that they are bringing back their “Wonderful World of Disney” programming schedule, and are set to show four Disney movies on their network each Wednesday, presented by Disney+. First up on the schedule will be the 2016 hit animated film “Moana”, set to make its network premiere tonight 20th at 8/7c, alongside a live Twitter conversation with some very special guests.

Not only is the movie airing, but viewers are asked to make way, make way for some very special guests to join the watch party along with them! Composer Lin Manuel Miranda and the voice of Moana herself – Auli’i Cravalho – will be live-tweeting throughout the Eastern-time broadcast of the movie, bringing true Moana magic right to where you are. “Special guests” are also set to appear, so get ready to consider those coconuts and sail away with the movie.

The other movies set to be shown are “Big Hero 6”, “Up”, and “Thor: The Dark World”. If you don’t have Disney+, make sure you don’t miss these broadcasts!

Earlier this month, millions of people across the United States joined together in spirit and song for ABC’s “The Disney Family Singalong,” spreading joy in a time when we all could definitely use some. Disney announced today an enchanting reprise will air this Mother’s Day with even more celebrities bringing #DisneyMagicMoments directly into your home once again.

ABC will broadcast “The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II” on Sunday, May 10, at 7 p.m. EDT, with Ryan Seacrest returning as host. “Volume II” will feature new star-studded performances, inventive at-home choreography and even more Disney magic.

The animated Mickey also returns, guiding you through on-screen lyrics so you can follow along in perfect harmony with celebrities performing beloved Disney tunes. The special will then be followed by a new episode of “American Idol,” following in the innovative remote format that debuted this past Sunday when audiences voted for the Top 10 finalists.

The new singalong special will also continue to raise awareness about Feeding America’s vast network and resources for people across the United States who are finding themselves in unfamiliar circumstances and facing hunger for the first time.

ABC announced it will air The Disney Family Singalong, a magical one-hour television special celebrating family, music and the love of all things Disney. Ryan Seacrest will host the nationwide singalong event airing Thursday, April 16 (8–9 p.m. EDT), which will feature celebrities with their families as they take on their favorite Disney tunes from their homes. Special guests confirmed for remote performances and appearances include Christina Aguilera, Erin Andrews, Bobby Bones, Michael Bublé, Kristin Chenoweth, Auliʻi Cravalho, Luke Evans, Jordan Fisher, Josh Gad, Derek Hough, Julianne Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Little Big Town, Kenny Ortega, Donny Osmond, Thomas Rhett, Amber Riley, John Stamos and many more from across The Walt Disney Company portfolio, including The Walt Disney Studios, Walt Disney Television, Disney Music Group, Disney Theatrical Productions and beyond.
