After Three Smash-Hit Seasons, It’s Time to Say Goodbye To “Bluey”

Millions of children (and their parents) are going to be devastated by this news.

Back in 2018, Bluey, a wholesome Australian animated show, premiered on ABC Kids. Five years later, it is one of the biggest children’s shows in the world.

Bluey is an animated series that has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide, becoming a favorite among children and adults alike. Fans in the United States have raced to Disney+ to watch the show. Bluey follows the lives of the Heeler family, which consists of Bluey, her younger sister, Bingo, and their parents, Bandit and Chilli. Each episode of Bluey focuses on extraordinary adventures, imaginative play, and essential conversations that reflect real-life situations. The show has gained a reputation for its relatable and heartwarming portrayal of family life.

Bluey has been slowly dropping episodes of their third season. The second part of the season just landed on Disney+ on July 12. Even with the rest of the episodes coming later this year, fans are very eager to know when season four will begin production. Once fans watch this season’s 50th and final episode, they will be already impatient for more.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like Bluey season four is coming as soon as hoped.

In a recent interview with the Courier Mail, Bluey’s executive producer, Daley Pearson, broke the news that is shattering the hearts of fans. When asked on when season four is in the works, Pearson revealed;

“It’s been four or five years and we’ve made 154 episodes. It is kind of unprecedented to do that back-to-back. It was very intense … We are just coming to the end of season three, and trying to think about what’s the best way to make it better… The more we ask ourselves, the longer it will be, which is why I hesitate talking about it too much.”

While it is sad to know that we will have to say goodbye to Bluey for a while, it is good to know that the show’s creative team cares so much about producing quality episodes. This show is truly incredible, and the wait will surely be worth it!

Disney To Change Gears As CEO, Bob Iger, Fears A “Culture War”

I wish Disney would stay out of politics and stick to what they do best.”

A multitude of Disney fans across the country has shared similar sentiments. As Disney has become the primary source of opposition to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, many are pleading that the entertainment giant, The Walt Disney Company, keep its name out of public affairs. The same individuals who take this stance also have attributed many of Disney’s recent film failures and perceived low Park attendance to the company’s “woke” agenda. With some evidence that Disney has no problem being a high voice of influence in socio-political issues and hot-button topics, traditionalists have loudly called for Bob Iger, Disney’s returning CEO, to get back to the basic of what Disney does best, entertainment.

In a recent interview with CNBC, Bob Iger, who recently extended his tenure for two more years after replacing Bob Chapek as Disney’s chief executive officer, sat down with David Faber of ‘Squawk Box.’ As Disney’s fight with Ron DeSantis over the governor’s signing of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education Act has been a heavy-hitting story, Faber wasted little time bringing up the seeming feud between Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Referencing a recent support rally outside the gates at Walt Disney World, Iger was quick to disrupt any idea that he would not address the heated debate around Disney versus DeSantis. Instead, he condemned the actions of the neo-Nazi protest calling them “horrifying.”

However, in the same sentence, Iger added that he did not want The Walt Disney Company drawn into a “culture war.” He also reinforced his desire to avoid any further conflict when asked about Disney’s First Amendment case against DeSantis that was filed in April.

The last thing I want is for the company to be drawn into any culture wars. I’m not sure that was handled very well.”

As The Walt Disney Company has seen shares down, accompanied by the lowest holiday attendance to Walt Disney World in ten years, as well as multiple failing box office projects; Iger understands the internal issues. He recently noted that Disney would cut back on its overly saturated Marvel content.  Iger also understands that the company’s outspoken approach to social issues may be part of the problem. However, Iger was clear that he is not concerned about Disney, specifically Walt Disney World’s worth in the long run, and that he feels strongly that the company has a First Amendment right to voice its views and opinions, or as some would call it, remains “woke.”

The product has value.” Iger when discussing the worth of Walt Disney World who recently experienced notable attendance decrease.

Bob Iger

However, Bob Iger’s repetition regarding Disney’s involvement in a culture war is significant. Iger, being the company’s leader (again), is aware of the clear lines drawn in the sand by Disney. As Walt Disney World is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world yet sits in one of most prominent conservative strongholds in the United States, Iger remains careful about their approach to media and entertainment. Intensifying a divide between conservative-thinking families who haven’t boycotted Disney and liberal-based ideology is bad for business. Not only would this continue a downward trend in demand for Disney vacations, but the tension would boil over into the Parks themselves. We’ve potentially already see this with increased violence and adherence for rules.

Some would call a shift from boisterous opposition of state legislation, which has led to an escalation in lawsuits, cowardice, while others would call the opposite pandering. Either way, with his fear or worry regarding Disney being drawn into future cultural combat, Iger is unwilling to pick an individual side without considering the other. His fears are warranted as the company becomes more expensive while cost-of-living continues rising. As more and more people can’t afford to visit Walt Disney World, future engagment in an all-out war with Florida’s governor would not serve the best interest of the entertainment company. It’s best to step back, reevaluate, and get back to the basics. Iger’s continued emphasis on avoiding unnecessary conflict with the state of Florida and shedding their “woke” first approach could be a step in that direction for Disney.

Mickey, Minnie, and More Walk The Red Carpet As SAG Stike Impacts Disney’s ‘The Haunted Mansion’ Premiere

As Disney faces one of their weakest years at the box office, things don’t seem to be getting any easier for the entertainment giant. The well-publicized strike of Hollywood writers has picked up steam in the last week as actors from the Screen Actor’s Guild (SAG) have joined the picket lines. SAG actors from both coasts joined union strikes, heavily impacting screenwriting and production in Hollywood. The Walt Disney Company is, first and foremost, an organization that prides itself on storytelling through film and animation, thus it has not been untouched by the current strike.

Ready to redeem itself at the box office, Disney announced a special world premiere for their newest film, The Haunted Mansion, at the Hyperion Theatre in Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Disney’s retelling of their original 2003 flop starring Eddie Murphy is set to bring in big money. The film is based on one of Disney’s most famous dark rides found at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. With the combination of a loyal fanbase, and big screen names such as Rosario Dawson, Owen Wilson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Danny DeVito, it felt like this would be one of the few successes Disney recently has had on the big screen.

However, as Disney began preparing for the special screening at Disneyland, a curveball ensured that many of the film’s famous faces would not be in attendance. That curveball, of course, is the current strike involving union writers and SAG members. Ever so resourceful, instead of canceling the event, which many were concerned would be Disney’s only option, The Walt Disney Company showed how flexible they can be when things don’t go according to plan. Maybe it was the bright minds who had the foresight to recognize a problem on the horizon, or it was magic, but Disney seemed ready with an entertaining and adorable plan B.

The Haunted Mansion went on to premiere without its leading cast walking the red carpet billed as a fan event. Determined to satisfy attendees, Disney deployed many costumed characters to ensure Guests had a memorable time. Instead of seeing Owen Wilson and Rosario Dawson walk the red carpet, Guests in attendance got to see Mickey and Minnie Mouse, The Tightrope Girl, and Maleficient, among others. Scott Gustin shared an exciting look at The Haunted Mansion world premiere fan event and some of our favorite Disney characters creating smiles at the premiere.

Although things did not go according to their original plans due to the SGA AFTRA strikes, Guests who attended the fan event got an up-close and personal peak at some of Disney’s most notable characters who seemed poised and ready for the big night. Although not necessarily news, we’d also like to point out the incredible, gothic outfits that Mickey and Minnie Mouse wore to the film’s premiere at Disneyland.

With no end in sight to the strikes in New York and Hollywood, it’s difficult to say what will happen with Disney’s planned projects. As negotiations have broken down between the Screen Actor’s Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, most working actors (being part of the association) are now refusing to work until union matters are resolved. As some picketing members have suggested that the strike could become “very unpleasant,” we will all have to wait to see when and how resolution will come.
