Happy (almost) Lunar New Year! The Year of the Rabbit on the Chinese calendar and Year of the Cat on the Vietnamese calendar are just around the corner and to celebrate the exciting occasion, the Disneyland Resort is serving up delightful dishes in honor of the new year. Guests will be transported with each bite and sip as they taste the delicious flavors and traditions of Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other Asian cultures.

From sweet indulgences to savory snacks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy at Disneyland Resort. With the help of this Disney Eats Foodie Guide, everyone will get a sneak peek at all the Lunar Near Year items that will help them and their stomach start off the new year on a happy (and full) note.

Guests can taste their way through the Lunar New Year Celebration from Jan. 20 through Feb. 15, 2023. This returning favorite at Disney California Adventure park features six marketplaces, including two new ones – Bamboo Blessings and Wrapped with Love – with can’t-miss delights guests will love! The festival fun also extends into the Downtown Disney District and the hotels of the Disneyland Resort with limited-time menu items inspired by Lunar New Year.

MUSICAL Christmas Popcorn Bucket Coming to Disney World

Over the past few years, several types of Disney merchandise have gained a cult-like following — things like spirit jerseys and Loungefly backpacks. Maybe one of the more surprising pieces of popular merchandise is Disney popcorn buckets. From Mickey Mummy popcorn buckets to ones that look like the famous Mickey balloons to ones exclusively for Annual Passholders, Disney is designing popcorn buckets to cover nearly every Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars fandom. They even created a Figment popcorn bucket for last year’s International Festival of the Arts — and people waited in 5 hours lines to get their hands on it!

Now, the Christmas season at Disney Parks is less than a week away, and Disney Imagineers and Cast Members are hard at work turning the Parks into magical wintry worlds. Every year, as part of the holiday celebration, Disney releases specialty popcorn buckets. Sometimes it’s a Christmas tree or jingle bells in the shape of a Mickey head. But this year, Disney is going all out and treating a truly unique popcorn bucket.

This year, Disney will be creating a musical popcorn bucket! Complete with images that move around the bucket! Disney Parks and Disney Eats shared a video of the gorgeous bucket on Instagram.

This new Christmas popcorn bucket will be released at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort beginning December 11. In the past, popcorn buckets have sold out in just a couple of days. So, if you plan to be in the Parks on November 11, we recommend getting in line as soon as possible if you want to make this popcorn bucket a part of your collection.

At this time, the popcorn buckets will only be available at select popcorn carts throughout Disneyland and Walt Disney World. Disney has not said if they will be available for mobile order at certain locations.

Disney Hotel Guests Share Petty Complaints During Hurricane Lockdown

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is one of 25 different Resort Hotels available to Walt Disney World Resort Guests. It’s one of many value Resorts available to Guests looking for magical Disney theming at a lower cost than moderate or deluxe Resort hotels

This week, Disney’s Pop Century Resort is home to thousands of Guests sheltering from Hurricane Ian. Locals and tourists alike are hunkered down while Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney Springs are closed for the storm, which reached nearly Category Five level winds when it made landfall on Wednesday.

Guests from closed Resort hotels – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort – have evacuated to Pop Century and other nearby Resorts.

Walt Disney World Resort is one of the safest places to be during a hurricane. Disney Cast Members volunteer to work, keeping Guests safe and entertained during storms. Unfortunately, the experience at Disney’s Pop Century Resort hasn’t been so smooth this time.

According to Guests on Twitter, Disney recommended that Resort hotel Guests mobile order pre-prepared meal kits to take back to their Resort hotel rooms. However, Tina (@_tinatuna) said that purchases weren’t being fulfilled in sequential order, and Guests were waiting hours for their meals:

Another Guest had the same experience at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. Andrew Lumley (@lumers83) wrote:

Lumley was furious that it took more than three hours to receive his breakfast after Disney Cast Members said mobile ordering was the best way to obtain food promptly.

Disney hasn’t responded to Tina or Lumley. Cast Members are doing their best to keep Guests safe, entertained, and fed during Hurricane Ian, and these complaints just seem in the face of what people across the state of Florida are experiencing.

Foodie Guide to Tasty EPCOT 40th Anniversary Festivities

Since opening in 1982, the park has allowed guests who have passed through its gates to get a glimpse into the future, travel the world while experiencing different cultures, and take their tastebuds on a journey through delicious food festivals.
