Disney Using DeSantis’ Memoir Against Him in Court

The Reedy Creek battle between the Walt Disney Company and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues, and it turns out that Disney’s prime witness is… Ron DeSantis.

The DeSantis/Disney feud began when the company spoke out against the controversial “Parents Rights of Education” Bill. The Governor then made motions to remove the board in charge of Walt Disney World’s special Reedy Creek Improvement District to ensure he controlled them.

Disney responded to the new board by creating a contract with the former board, giving the company control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District until the last living descendent of King Charles III passed away. Currently, said descendent is two years old.

This has since been followed by attacks from both sides, with DeSantis threatening to build a prison next to Walt Disney World, Disney suing the Governor and the state of Florida, and the newly named Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Board counter-suing Disney.

This whole conflict has led to the potential Presidential nominee losing support within his own party. To make matters worse for the Florida Governor, the Walt Disney Company has found an unlikely ally: Republican Governor Ron DeSantis.

Disney’s Lawsuit Cites Pages From DeSantis’ Own Book

Mickey Mouse laughs at a photo of Ron DeSantis looking pensive. They are pictured in front of the Reedy Creek sign.

According to Nicolle Wallace on a recent episode of MSNBC’s Deadline: White House, Disney is using Ron DeSantis’ memoir, The Courage To Be Free, against the Governor.

Wallace said on the program, “Today, Disney’s lawyers are getting help making their case from a very unlikely person, and that is Ron DeSantis. More specifically, his recently published memoir in which he routinely flaunts the idea of a political retaliation campaign — that he thought of all by himself — against Disney. So much so that the actual lawsuit actually cites pages from his book.”

Wallace then quoted the Washington Post: “DeSantis’s book brags about his rapid mobilization of the state legislature to target Disney’s tax district. The same passage declares that this happened because of the company’s support of indoctrinating young schoolchildren in woke gender identity politics.”

Charlie Sykes from The Bulwark further commented that this is a real “quagmire” for the Governor who promotes himself as “an anti-woke bully” and that “he won’t back down,” especially since DeSantis’ Super PAC is named “Never Back Down.”

Sykes closed his remarks, saying, “This is going to play out very differently in a federal court than it does on Twitter.”

Dwayne Johnson Axed From Disney Franchise Amid $3 Billion Lawsuit

Actor Dwayne Johnson is out of a popular Disney franchise, recent reports indicate.

Dwayne The Rock Johnson has become one of the most recognizable figures in all of Hollywood. He has starred in countless blockbusters, including Disney’s Jungle Cruise (2021), the Fast & Furious franchise, Jumanji (2017), San Andreas (2015), Gridiron Gang (2006), and The Scorpion King (2002).

Recently, The Rock was pegged to return to his role as Maui in a live-action adaptation of the movie Moana (2016), in which he’d star alongside the original voice of the Disney princess, Auli’i Cravalho. The announcement of the movie was met with mixed reviews, as many fans said they were tired of live-action remakes and that Disney had “become lazy” in its quest for storytelling, relying on remakes of its same films instead of coming up with new ones. Nevertheless, Dwayne Johnson made the announcement alongside The Walt Disney Company CEO, Bob Iger, during the company’s annual shareholder’s meeting last month.

However, things have not necessarily been going Johnson’s way as of late.

Dwayne Johnson starred in the Warner Bros. DC Universe film Black Adam (2022) last fall. The movie, which was hyped for months, was a colossal failure at the box office, and as James Gunn moved into the role as the new headman of DC Universe, The Rock’s big sequel was subsequently canceled.

If that weren’t enough, Dwayne Johnson was named a defendant in a $3 billion lawsuit alleging kidnapping that just moved forward in the judicial system. The Rock, alongside many other defendants, is being sued by Trenesha Biggers, also known as Rhaka Khan, during her former TNA and WWE days, alleging that she and her kids were kidnapped.

With all of this surrounding Dwayne Johnson, a new report has now indicated that the actor will not be joining the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise after all. Essentially Sports reports that Johnson will not replace Johnny Depp in the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Though this has yet to be confirmed by Disney or Dwayne Johnson, it would make sense, and neither party has indicated if this is a result of the lawsuit.

Of course, this brings many fans to wonder: Is Johnny Depp set to return to Disney after all?

Johnny Depp as a confused Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise

While nothing has been confirmed, there still seems to be not much enthusiasm about Johnny Depp and Disney reuniting. It’s not to say that the two parties couldn’t put aside their differences to make another installment of the franchise, but unfortunately, it seems that they are at a wide impasse– at least for the time being– and might be quite a while before Johnny Depp is welcomed back to Hollywood.

Other defendants in the Dwayne Johnson lawsuit include The State of Texas, The El Paso Child Protective Services, The Las Cruces, New Mexico Police Department, The NYPD, The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, New York ACS, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., Shirley Police Department, Sigma Phi Epsilon, Suffolk County NY, Bank of America, Home Depot, and even the FBI.

Most likely, this is not a result of the lawsuit and more a byproduct of Dwayne Johnson already starring in many other Disney projects already. With Johnson still set to star in the live-action Moana and Disney likely calling his number again for a Jungle Cruise sequel— if that movie is ever made– it would make sense not to utilize the actor in another movie, especially with a role that will be so volatile and could result in major fan backlash.

As far as wrestling is concerned, Johnson has been rumored to make a return to the ring, much like John Cena. He has teased a potential match against his cousin– and also WWE Champion– Roman Reigns. For now, however, we’ll have to wait and see what might happen with the celebrity.

Disney Makes Change to Classic Attraction

Disneyland Resort has finally changed a classic attraction.

Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most beloved attractions at Disneyland Resort, taking Guests on a thrilling journey through a pirate-infested world filled with danger, adventure, and treasure. This attraction has since become a classic ride replicated in several other Disney Parks worldwide.

This attraction begins with a boat ride through a peaceful lagoon before plunging into a dark cavern filled with the sounds of waterfalls and mysterious chanting. The journey then takes Disney Guests through scenes depicting the life of pirates, from pillaging towns and fighting naval battles to partying and searching for treasure. The scenes are brought to life through animatronics, sound effects, and special effects, creating a fully immersive experience that transports guests to a different time and place. One of the most memorable moments in the ride is the battle between the pirate ship and the fortress, complete with cannon blasts and explosions that make Guests feel as if they are right in the middle of the action. The ride also features several iconic characters, including Captain Jack Sparrow, who was added to the ride in 2006 to coincide with the release of the hit movie franchise.

In a social media post, Guests have spotted the return of several missing pirates. Over the last several months, Guests noticed that these were missing, and there has been quite the uproar on social media from Disney Park fans.

“It’s cool to see the animatronics making their comeback at pirates. As of my most recent ride (4 hours ago), im happy to say that they have added back the pirates of the Caribbean main theme to the ship attacking the fort scene. The dont be cheekin woman is back and opens the window. All of the chase scenes are working. They brought back the pirate and the stray cats. The stinky pirate is back over the bridge. The only thing still missing it seems is the 1 or 2 pirates on the right side with the shootout by the powder barrels.”

Pirates of the Caribbean has been at Disneyland for 50 years and counting. The popularity of Pirates of the Caribbean has also led to the creation of a themed land at Disneyland Resort, New Orleans Square, which is home to several pirate-themed attractions, restaurants, and shops.

Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Resort is a must-see attraction that has captured the hearts of generations of visitors. It’s a testament to the creative genius of Disney Imagineers, who have created a ride that continues to delight and inspire guests of all ages to explore a world of adventure, treasure, and swashbuckling fun.

Disney World Monorail Will Soon Be Forced to Shut Down

Disney World is a popular tourist location seeing thousands of Guests daily. Walt Disney World Resort is known as “The Most Magical Place on Earth.” Being the most magical, Guests have high expectations of Disney World.

uests heading to Disney World can explore their different parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Each Disney Park includes something for all Guests. Walt Disney World Resort is also home to two water parks, called Blizzard Beach (temporarily closed) and Typhoon Lagoon.

Since Disney has so much ground to cover for Guests heading to the Disney Parks or resorts, Guests can take advantage of using the skyliner, buses, ferry boat, or the most popular way of travel, the monorail.

Disney Skyliner

Disney’s Monorail allows Guests to ride high in the sky and connects Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, and select Disney Resorts by just minutes. The Walt Disney World Monorail System has three separate lines that travel throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

The Resort Monorail makes the following stops:

  • Magic Kingdom Park
  • Disney’s Contemporary Resort
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
  • Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)

The monorail opens thirty minutes before opening and one hour after closing for Magic Kingdom. Guests using the monorail for EPCOT should know it opens thirty minutes before opening and two hours after closing.

Monorail EPCOT

Ashley Carter recently tweeted that the bill that would allow the Florida Department of Transportation to oversee inspections of the monorail has now passed.

The Florida Senate has passed SB 1250, a transportation bill that includes an amendment that would allow the Florida Department of Transportation to oversee inspections of Disney World’s monorails. The bill passed 26-14.

In recent months, Disney World Guests have noticed that the monorail has started showing structural damage. With this bill, the Department of Transportation will be able to inspect that. This is part of Disney’s ongoing feud with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Disney is suing DeSantis, but the recently-appointed Central Florida Tourism District also announced a countersuit.

With this new bill in place, it would seem to be almost guaranteed that Disney will have to shut down its monorails at some point as the Department of Transportation conducts an inspection. The question, really, is how long the Disney monorails will have to be closed when this inspection does take place. Then, once the DOT conducts its search, how long will it be before Disney is able to reopen them?

Of course, this is all pending and up in the air as the lawsuits come forward.

Monorail beam

Using the monorail is simple. Just wait at one of the convenient and well-marked pickup points throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Your ride will then arrive—usually within minutes—ready to transport you to a variety of destinations. Keep in mind that certain destinations are not direct; you may be required to take a connecting mode of transportation to reach your destination.

Just for you to know glass containers of any type are not permitted on the monorail. Medical strollers for Guests with disabilities will be treated as wheelchairs.

And remember: If you’re staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, you can enjoy convenient access to all monorail lines, right from your Disney Resort hotel. This is one of the great perks of staying at a Disney Resort.

Disney Park Filled With BUBBLES

The Walt Disney Company usually runs a tight ship. Everything at the Parks is usually carefully planned and executed so as not to cause any harm or delay. Cast Members at all of Disney’s locations take their jobs very seriously and diligently try to maintain a healthy amount of order on Disney property.

However, every once in a while, something genuinely hilarious happens in Disney Parks when things do not go as expected. That kind of thing happened today when Guests were met with a soapy surprise at this Disney Park.

Spring Cleaning Takes on a Whole New Meaning

One of the things that help differentiate Disney from its theme Park competitors is the immaculate cleanliness of the Parks. When visiting the Parks, you may likely notice that the grounds of the property are kept in great condition for Guests to enjoy. That is why Guests were not completely shocked when they were met with a soapy surprise in the Park this morning.

Disneyland Paris is known as one of the most beautiful Disney Parks. This Park has recently gotten more popular after the new Avengers Campus was added to the Park. With the new crowds coming to check out the land, more eyes have been able to notice the happenings of the Park.

Snowfall Covers Disneyland Paris

Guests entering Disneyland Paris today were met with the hilarious sight of one of the fountains overflowing with bubbles. The suds fill the entire surrounding area. The fountain that overflowed was the one at Fantasia Gardens.

From the look of it, the suds seem to have made quite a mess. It has not been confirmed what the situation over there was; it could have possibly been a cleaning procedure done by the Parks. It also could have been a prankster who dumped a bubble bath into the fountain. The Twitter page @Disneyland Paris Bon Plans posted the event.

The caption translates to;

“This morning, the fountains of Fantasia Gardens turned into a huge bubble bath!”

Regardless, the image of it all was quite hilarious for Disneyland Paris Guests to see.
