Marvel Entertainment Chairman Accused of Breaking Law in Veterans Affairs Scheme

Marvel Entertainment Chairman, Ike Perlmutter, is involved in breaking news today, September 27, as he and others have been accused of breaking the law in Veterans Affairs Scheme under Trump.

As reported by CNN: “House Democrats on Monday (Sept. 27) accused three Donald Trump associates of breaking the law as they used their connection to the former president’s private golf club to shape veterans’ policies for their own benefit. The three associates, known as the “Mar-a-Lago” trio, are billionaire Marvel Entertainment Chairman Ike Perlmutter, attorney Marc Sherman, and doctor Bruce Moskowitz. Trump’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, were aware of those efforts, the Democrats alleged.”

“Perlmutter, attorney Marc Sherman and doctor Bruce Moskowitz — known as the “Mar-a-Lago Trio” — refused to comply with a federal transparency law while secretly influencing the Department of Veterans Affairs during the Trump administration, two Democratic committee chairs said in a press release. “The documents we are releasing today shed light on the secret role the Trio played in developing VA initiatives and programs, including a ‘hugely profitable’ plan to monetize veterans’ medical records,” said Oversight Committee Chairwoman Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., and Veterans’ Affairs Committee Chairman Mark Takano, D-Calif., in a press release. They accused the trio of violating transparency rules established by the Federal Advisory Committee Act.”

A spokesman for Marvel Entertainment did not immediately respond. In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. Marvel Entertainment, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company and is mainly known for its comic books by Marvel Comics, as well as its forays into films, including those within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel is primarily reported as part of Disney’s Consumer Products segment ever since Marvel Studios’ reorganization from Marvel Entertainment into Walt Disney Studios.
