Guest Treats Disney World Fountain Like a Swimming Pool

When you visit Walt Disney World Resort, you are agreeing to abide by a number of rules that are in place throughout the Resort. For example, there are no weapons allowed on property, adults cannot wear full-on costumes, and stroller wagons are no longer allowed in the Parks. These regulations are in place to keep Guests as safe as possible while on their magical vacation. Guests are also expected not to cut in line and to always behave appropriately.

Unfortunately, lately, it seems that many Guests have forgotten these rules, and their behavior while in the Parks has been exceptionally below par.

Throughout Walt Disney World Resort’s massive property, there are a number of fountains. The gorgeous fountains can not only be found in the theme parks, but also at all of the Resort hotels, as well as in Disney Springs. These fountains are decorative and are not for Guests to swim in, play in, or put their bare feet in. However, it seems that one Guest recently forgot about — or just decided to ignore — those rules.

Not long ago, Twitter user Mardi Con (@TheConnorWeb) visited Disney Springs and saw something that made him do a double-take. A Guest, an adult, was standing in one of the fountains in his bare feet. Connor shared the sight on Twitter.

Standing in a Walt Disney World — or any Disney Park — fountain in bare feet can be extremely dangerous. Walking around in wet, bare feet can become a slip and fall hazard. That’s why Disney does not allow Guests to go in the fountains. Here is Disney’s current policy when it comes to Guest courtesy and attire:

Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. Clothing that drags on the ground is prohibited in theme parks and water parks. Clothing with multiple layers is subject to search. We reserve the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that we consider inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. Visible tattoos that could be considered inappropriate, such as those containing objectionable language or designs, are not permitted. There are specific costume guidelines for special events such as Halloween parties, runDisney events and while at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser; please refer to the additional policies applicable to those events.

If you find yourself at Disney Springs on a warm day, please remember to keep your shoes on. All of the stores and restaurants are air-conditioned and will always welcome Guests who need to cool down. Disney reserves the right to ask any Guest who does not follow their rules and regulations to leave Disney Springs. Guests who continue to refuse to follow the rules may be asked to leave the property entirely.
