Jeremy Renner Home After Horrific Accident That Crushed His Leg

More than two weeks ago, Marvel star Jeremy Renner was airlifted to a hospital near Reno, Nevada, after being injured in a snow plow accident near his home. He was admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit and listed in “critical but stable” condition. We soon learned that Renner had been run over by a large snow plow he owned while trying to help a neighbor. Thankfully, another neighbor of Renner’s was a doctor and was able to help treat Renner’s wound while they waited for medical help to arrive.

Thankfully, Renner is on the mend and has made his way back to the home he loves so much. Renner was speaking about his hit show, Mayor of Kingstown, when he revealed that he was finally home.

Outside my brain fog in recovery, I was very excited to watch episode 201 with my family at home 🙏❤️🙏

The Hawkeye and Avengers star kept Guests updated as he spent a lot of time in the hospital getting better. According to reports, it wasn’t just Renner’s leg that was injured in the accident. He was also treated for blunt chest trauma. The machine that he was run over weighs more than 14,000 pounds, so his leg suffered extensive damage. Renner’s family was by his side the entire time, and he even shared videos of them on social media helping take care of him in the ICU.

At this time, we don’t know just how bad Renner’s injuries are. Reports had indicated that they were so bad he may never be back to 100%, but Renner has not said anything in regard to that. We do know that the doctors were able to save his leg, and he will most likely start intensive physical therapy once he is deemed healed enough to do so.

Renner and his medical team have also not said if any further surgeries will be needed to help fix his severely injured leg. Renner’s Marvel Cinematic Universe family has constantly been sending their support to the Hawkeye star since his first day in the hospital.

Disney Cruise Line is turning 25 this summer! From dazzling new entertainment offerings and family activities to inspired menu items and a themed merchandise collection, there is so much to look forward to on board all five ships from May through September of 2023.

With the official celebration beginning in just a few months, we’re excited to reveal more details about the brand-new magic guests can experience during our “Silver Anniversary at Sea.”

Say “Cheers” During a Shimmering Soiree

A captain’s reception is a well-known cruising tradition that has been enjoyed by Disney Cruise Line guests since the very beginning. In honor of our “Silver Anniversary at Sea,” we are reimagining this time-honored event into a one-of-a-kind celebratory experience, adding an extra dose of magic to sailings this summer.

On one evening each cruise, guests will be invited to join their ship’s captain and cruise director in the atrium for an anniversary toast. The festive affair will feature appearances from Captain Mickey Mouse and Captain Minnie Mouse — dressed for the occasion in their shimmering new looks, of course! — and a delightful rendition of the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” theme song.

Celebrate with A Limited-Edition Castaway Club Gift

If guests have sailed with Disney Cruise Line before, they can be part of the best club on the high seas – the Castaway Club, which recognizes returning Disney Cruise Line guests with exclusive rewards and perks.

We’re excited to announce that all Castaway Club members who sail during the “Silver Anniversary at Sea” this summer will receive a limited-edition framed art print in their stateroom to commemorate this once-in-a-lifetime celebration until supplies last. As shown above, this design was created by Disney artist Joe Kaminski, whose work is featured in The Art of Disney galleries, Disney resort hotels and Disney Cruise Line ships. (One 11×14 framed print will be delivered per stateroom.)

Now is everyone’s chance to take part in a milestone celebration 25 years in the making! Make sure to check back here for even more “Silver Anniversary at Sea” news.

The Disney Corporate Shakeup Continues: Chairman Arnold Out, Nike Exec In

After Disney fired CEO Bob Chapek and replaced him with his predecessor Bob Iger, everyone knew change was coming. In the days and weeks that followed, heads continued to roll at the Walt Disney Company. Things have slowed down but the Disney corporate shakeup is far from over. Today Disney rejected pressure to install activist investor Nelson Peltz as Chairman of the Board and instead tapped Nike Executive Chairman Mark Parker instead.

This news comes in the wake of current Disney Chair Susan Arnold’s announcement that she will be stepping down from the role. Arnold has held the position since Iger stepped away from the company in 2021 (in fact, she was the one who asked him to return). Disney has made it clear that she has not been fired, and that her departure is “consistent with Disney’s 15-year board term limit.”

Mark Parker

In a statement following the announcement, Bob Iger said, “Mark Parker’s vision, incredible depth of experience and wise counsel have been invaluable to Disney, and I look forward to continuing working with him in his new role, along with our other directors, as we chart the future course for this amazing company.”

Iger also acknowledged Susan Arnold in his statement saying,“On behalf of my fellow Board members and the entire Disney management team, I also want to thank Susan for her superb leadership as Chairman and for her tireless work over the past 15 years as an exemplary steward of the Disney brand.”

Mark Parker has worked for Nike since 1979 In various roles including product research, design and development, marketing and brand management. This, like other recent announcements, is a hopeful step in the right direction for the Walt Disney Company. In recent years the Board of Executives lacked creatives leading to a stagnation that caused the company’s recent implosion.

In addition to his position as Chairman of the Board, he will also be tasked with a “succession planning” committee dedicated to advising the board on the status of CEO succession planning. This comes as a stipulation of Iger’s return as CEO for a two year period in order to find a suitable replacement.

The snubbing of Nelson Peltz is not surprising given his investment firm, Trian, openly opposed Bob Iger’s return as CEO. Nevertheless the firm invested an $800 million stake in Disney and immediately began campaigning for a seat on the board. Trian said they aimed to reduce costs and improve operations. It remains to be seen whether they will be successful at placing a member on the board but it won’t be as Chairman of the Board.

Brand New Transportation Option Available from MCO to Disney World Resorts

When Disney’s Magical Express ended in 2022, there was a gap in coverage between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Walt Disney World Resort hotels. MEARS Connect seemed to be the frontrunner to replace the service (Disney’s Magical Express was owned and operated by MEARS). However, Sunshine Flyer emerged as a clear stand out.

Neither replacement options are free. Both are comparably priced, with MEARS being a tad cheaper ($32 per supersonic round trip as opposed to Sunshine Flyer at $39 per person round trip). It’s the theming that puts Sunshine Flyer over the top. The motor coaches are themed like Golden Age railroad cars, right down to train conductor uniforms for drivers. It’s just…FUN!

Now, though, they’ve begun a brand new offering: private direct transfers. If group transportation isn’t your thing, you can hire private car transport to and from the airport in advance from Sunshine Flyer. The experience is VIP from start to finish making this an excellent way to splurge on your Disney trip and begin the magic the moment you land.

Rather than traipsing through the airport for a specific meeting location, your driver will meet you at baggage claim and assist with your bags at the airport and your Resort. After that, you’re whisked off to your destination in stylish and modern vehicles that up the wow factor on the entire experience. Unlike with group transfers, your resort is guaranteed to be the one and only stop which cuts down on travel time and starts your fun that much quicker.

There’s also no surprise fees or surge pricing like you typically find with rideshare services. By booking in advance, you’ll also have peace of mind knowing that not only is the cost already taken care of (payment is due upon booking), but you’re guaranteed a ride, even if your arrival is during a peak time. With rideshare services, you often run the risk of lengthy wait times if there are no available drivers once you’re ready to go.

The cars aren’t train themed like the buses but kids receive train themed freebies like conductor hats, stickers and games. Safety certified car seats are included at no extra cost which cuts down on the hassle of having to bring your own from home.

Like any VIP experience, pricing is a bit steep:

For reference their website says a sedan will accommodate up to 3 people and 3 suitcases. A luxury SUV will accommodate up to 6 people and 6 suitcases. The Sprinter Van accommodates up to 10 people and 18 suitcases.

The website lists the hotels serviced by private transfer. All Walt Disney World hotels are included, including Fort Wilderness Campground and Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.

New Perks Available to Annual Passholders

Passholders have had a pretty good day. Recent news of attraction openings, a relaxing of Park Pass requirements, and new night time shows have led to what amounts to be an incredible news day for Disney Parks. The fun isn’t over yet though! Disney quietly announced a new perk for Annual Passholders amongst all the ther news today!

You might recall that PhotoPass was formerly complimentary for Passholders. It was a victim of what I like to call “the perk purge” that has taken place in recent years. Sadly, I’m not here to tell you that free PhotoPass is coming back. However, Disney is giving Passholders complimentary access to PhotoPass Lenses and one free Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories. That may not feel like much but like everything else today, it’s a step in the right direction.

Cinderella Castle Mural of Memories is a particularly great perk simply because it is so unique. The idea was born out of a desire to celebrate Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in a unique and memorable way. The idea is to gather a collection of memories from the celebration and (virtually) pin them to Cinderella Castle to create a beautiful keepsake. Typically Disney charged $9.99 per photo for this experience but as the celebration winds down, Passholders can pin one photo for free. Pinning a photo comes with a free download of the Mural.

PhotoPass Lenses are also a fun and unique way to celebrate your day! It uses AR (Augmented Reality) in select areas around the Parks to create one of a kind selfies by inserting your favorite characters or surprising magical moments into the frame. Think of it like the Magic Shots you can get from Disney’s PhotoPass photographers, only you get to add the magic yourself! This service was formerly exclusive to Guests who purchased Disney Genie+ (it’s not even included with Memory Maker purchase) but now Passholders can access it free of charge for a limited time!

These new changes may seem small on the surface, but they add up to something huge: feeling appreciated and valued by Disney again after a few years of feeling like nothing but cash cows. We are hopeful that meaningful change will continue at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort. The small things really do add up.
