It looks like Disney is getting ready to head back to Neverland, and they want Margot Robbie to fly with them.
According to Screen Rant, the studio has reportedly offered her the role of Tinker Bell in the upcoming live-action film “Peter Pan and Wendy” for Disney+, but she has yet to accept the part.
The report also claims the character breakdown for the film describes this iteration of the iconic fairy as “Peter Pan’s partner in crime and voice of reason. She is the one to swoop in and save the day when the Lost Boys are hopelessly lost.” Filming in Vancouver is reportedly scheduled from April until August.
“Peter Pan and Wendy” is expected to fall in line with Disney’s recent string of live-action adaptations of their classic animated films, though the inclusion of Wendy’s name in the title may suggest the story may be re-told with a new perspective and an increased role for her character. The next remake to come out is “Mulan,” which will be released theatrically March 27.
What an awesome time to be a Marvel fan! Disney+ just ran a preview during the Super Bowl game of all of the incredible Marvel projects coming to the streaming network and we’ve never been more excited.

Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, reprise their roles in ’ ”The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” which finds Falcon and the Winter Soldier teaming up after “Avengers: Endgame.” Emily VanCamp will also return to her role as Sharon Carter. Rounding out the cast is Wyatt Russell who will play John Walker—a character from the comics coming to the screen for the first time. “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” will launch on Disney+ in Fall 2020.
WandaVision
Does this show look awesome or what!? For us, the WandaVision segments were the standout moments of the clip above and have us really excited for the show which is set to debut on Disney+ in the Spring of 2021. During D23 last August, Randall Park, playing the role of Jimmy Woo called the upcoming show “something totally fresh and weird!” Kevin Feige echoed this last year saying that the concept would only work as a series and not a movie. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany will be back in their roles as Scarlet Witch and Vision and it’s even been said that Kat Dennings will be reprising her role as Darcy from Thor in the series!
Loki
Earlier this week we announced that pre-production had already started on the Disney+ series Loki which will see Tom Hiddleston resuming his role as the title character. Disney and Marvel are being tight-lipped about plot details for the series but it’s expected to follow the incarnation of Loki from the alternate 2012 timeline that escaped with the Tesseract during the events of Avengers: Endgame. Time travel is expected to factor heavily in the series with the Asgardian God of Mischief visiting key historical events throughout the MCU. It a was also announced this week that Owen Wilson has signed on for (an as yet unnamed) role in the series.
Production has commenced in Boston on “Godmothered,” an original live-action movie for Disney+ starring Isla Fisher (“Confessions of a Shopaholic,” “Wedding Crashers”) and Jillian Bell (“Brittany Runs a Marathon,” “Rough Night”), directed by Sharon Maguire (“Bridget Jones’s Diary,” “Bridget Jones’s Baby”). The screenplay is by Kari Granlund (“Lady and the Tramp”) and Melissa K. Stack (“The Other Woman”). The film is produced by Justin Springer (“Dumbo,” “TRON: Legacy”), with Ivan Reitman (“Ghostbusters”), Tom Pollock (the upcoming “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”), Amie Karp (the upcoming “Ghostbusters: Afterlife”) and Diane L. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “Happily Ever After,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.
Joining Bell and Fisher in supporting roles are Emmy winner Jane Curtin (“Kate & Allie,” “Saturday Night Live”) as headmistress of The Motherland, Jillian Shea Spaeder (“Walk The Prank”) and Willa Skye (“Lazy Susan”) as Mackenzie’s young daughters, Mary Elizabeth Ellis (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”) as her sister, and Santiago Cabrera (“Star Trek: Picard”), Artemis Pebdani (“Scandal”), Utkarsh Ambudkar (“Brittany Runs a Marathon”) and Stephnie Weir (“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend”) as colleagues at the TV news station where Mackenzie works. June Squibb (Oscar nominee for “Nebraska”) and Carlease Burke (“Child’s Play”) appear as godmothers populating The Motherland.

Disney+ is developing the next generation of the critically-acclaimed series “The Quest,” now featuring teen participants and adding more epic world building interactive elements. The streaming service has also greenlit the ultimate brainteaser competition series “The Maze,” National Geographic’s “Meet the Chimps” and an untitled docuseries that follows Pixar’s SparkShorts program as they discover talented new storytellers, it was announced today during a Disney+ panel at the Realscreen Summit in New Orleans.
“These projects take people on epic adventures, immerse them in fantastical worlds and shine a light on extraordinary people and creatures, which are all important benchmarks of our Disney+ nonfiction content philosophy,” said Agnes Chu, senior vice president, Content, Disney+. “We are thrilled that we get to bring the groundbreaking ‘The Quest’ back to life, and can’t wait for people to discover ‘The Maze,’ our special subjects in ‘Meet the Chimps’ and the innovation and wonder of making Pixar’s Sparkshorts.”
Filmed at a castle outside Vienna, Austria, “The Quest” is an innovative reality competition that takes place in the fantasy world of Everealm. Teen contestants will compete in an unfolding drama where they encounter mystical beings and magical encounters that rival their favorite books, games and movies. They will be embedded in a fully immersive, 360-degree world complete with seamless technology, creature design, practical effects and scripted characters who interact dynamically with them. The series is executive produced by Court Five’s Mark Ordesky (“The Lord of the Rings”) and Jane Fleming; Scout Productions’ David Collins, Michael Williams, Rob Eric (“Queer Eye”); and New Media Collective’s Bertram van Munster, Elise Doganieri and Mark Dziak (“The Amazing Race”).
With a very unique take on adventure competition, “The Maze” brings five teams consisting of one adult and one teen relative on a journey of mind-bending proportions. Participants will solve riddles and decipher clues that will guide them through European cities and fairytale villages. In each episode, the characters will reveal information to participants pushing them onward and closer to their final destination where all contestants will convene, but only one team will solve the Maze. It is also executive produced by van Munster, Doganieri and Dziak.
National Geographic’s “Meet the Chimps” takes viewers into the secret life of one of the largest and most unique wildlife sanctuaries in the world – Chimp Haven—a 200-acre refuge tucked deep in the forested heart of Louisiana, which is home to more than 300 chimpanzees. Through a seamless blend of natural history and observational-documentary filmmaking, “Meet the Chimps” puts the chimps – the heart and soul of the series – at front and center. The untitled Pixar series from Supper Club (“Chef’s Table”) will follow Pixar’s inventive SparkShorts program. By offering a select group of Pixar employees the opportunity to make their own animated short film, the SparkShorts program helps discover and support the next generation of Pixar storytellers. The series will give audiences an exclusive and immersive look at the filmmakers and their films, while exploring the creative philosophy and community that makes Pixar unique. Brian McGinn, Jason Sterman and David Gelb executive produce.
The 10-episode Mighty Ducks tv show coming to Disney+ will have Emilio Estevez on the cast when the show debuts. According to The Illuminerdi, Estevez will reprise his role as Coach Gordon Bombay for the show and will be a lead character in the show.
Emilio Estevez was one of the main characters in both The Mighty Ducks and D2: The Mighty Ducks. His role was reduced to a cameo in D3: The Mighty Ducks due to scheduling concerns, so it is good to see Estevez return to a full role for the show.
A summary of the show reads:
“After getting kicked off the junior division Mighty Ducks team, a 13-year-old boy and his mom decide to start their own team, finding players, a coach, and a place to play,”
Filming of the show is set to begin next month in Vancouver and conclude in early June.
