Alright Mandalorian fans! Good news coming out of the Star Wars universe as the release date for The Mandalorian Season 3 has been revealed. Of course, we’ll be sure to mark our calendars as we suspect Season 3 will be just as epic as Seasons 1 and 2.

As shared by ComicBook.com: “The Mandalorian will be back for season 3 on Disney+ in 2021. While much of today’s Investor Day from The Walt Disney Company saw the announcements of all-new titles for the galaxy far, far away, the event also saw the confirmation that Season Three of The Mandalorian is slated to hit Disney+ in time for Christmas next year. It’s unclear if this means we can expect the third season to premiere on December 25, 2021, or if it merely means the third season will be debuting in the time around that holiday.”

New “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” and Untitled Star Wars Film by Taika Waititi Slated as Next Theatrical Release

Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm, announced two brand-new “Star Wars” theatrical films at the recent Disney Investor Day 2020 event.

“Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” is being directed by Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman films). The film is slated for a Christmas 2023 release. Describing the film, Kathleen Kennedy stated:

This story will introduce a new generation of starfighter pilots as they earn their wings and risk their lives in a boundary-pushing, high-speed thrill-ride. The legend of Rogue Squadron has been long beloved by Star Wars fans and will move us into a future era of the Galaxy.

“Taika’s approach to Star Wars will be fresh, unexpected and unique. His enormous talent and sense of humor will ensure that audiences are in for an unforgettable ride.”

NEW Star Wars Disney+ Series “The Acolyte”

The Lucasfilm portion of the Disney Investor Day 2020 event brought about a lot of surprises. One of the briefly discussed, yet quite interesting Disney+ shows talked about was “The Acolyte”.

Intriguingly described as a “mystery-thriller”, “The Acolyte” could be the first Star Wars Disney+ series that focuses on a character on the Dark Side of the Force.

The creative team is being headed up by Leslye Headland, co-creator of Netflix’s series “Russian Doll”. No release date or additional info has been announced. However, if you want to learn more about the High Republic Era, check out Starwars.com
